Chapter 139 Goodbye Hilde

Queen Junoron simply promised that she would handle the matter and asked Master Coleman to give her a report after the meeting at the academy before letting Alphonse and Deans leave.

Master Coleman also took his leave at the same time, it seems he came to the palace specifically for this matter.

Although Alphonse's fondness for Master Coleman grew, he couldn't understand why the master looked at him with such kindness, as if an elder were seeing a junior.

Just as he was wondering how to start a conversation, Master Coleman spoke first, "Baron Tartarus, I must thank you for your help. Your discovery has given me some inspiration and has made considerable progress in my research."

Alphonse was taken aback; this was clearly not about the incident where he had beaten someone up.

A thought flashed through my mind, and I immediately remembered something.

Hilde once said that his teacher was in the capital, and activated charcoal could help his teacher's pharmaceutical research.

Although they had only met twice, Alphonse still had a deep impression of Hilde, the fat man.

Despite being born into the Auster family, a family that ran a loan sharking business, he acted like a scholar, fascinated by new knowledge.

"Excuse me for asking, Master Coleman, you know Hilde, right?"

“Hilde is my student, and it was because of his request that I came to the palace,” Master Coleman smiled. “He is waiting for you at the palace gates now.”

Alphonse then understood. "So, the academy's handling of those guys is just an excuse?"

"Of course it's not an excuse. How could I possibly deceive Her Majesty? I did report it to the Dean. If Hilde hadn't told me, I really wouldn't have wanted to get involved in the tedious affairs of other departments. I've been staying in the Magic Tower doing research all this time." Master Coleman replied calmly. "The discipline of the Magic Swordsman Department does need to be rectified, but there are still some procedures to go through. As for the students, considering their backgrounds, the punishment will probably not be too severe. I estimate that at most they will be given a demerit and placed on probation."

In other words, without Hilde, Master Coleman wouldn't have bothered with this matter at all.

Alphonse keenly perceived this.

That might be too lenient a treatment for those guys.

Alphonse was quite confident that they wouldn't be able to cause trouble at the academy for a while, and he believed that the other members of the so-called upper-class brotherhood would also restrain themselves.

Next, we need to consider Dean's future; it's probably not appropriate for him to return to the Spellsword Academy.

Upon exiting the palace, they saw Hilde, the chubby boy, standing quietly beside a carriage that, while not particularly ornate, exuded an extraordinary magical aura.

Besides the Violet Academy emblem, the carriage also featured a slightly smaller shield-shaped coat of arms, embossed with a long-necked bottle, gears, and small flowers.

It must be the emblem of the Alchemy Department.

Alphonse still found it quite strange that the concept of gears already existed in this other world.

In addition to these two coats of arms, the carriages are also engraved with many complex and mysterious symbols and patterns.

Needless to say, this carriage must be enchanted.

"Alphonse, are you alright?" Hilde asked as soon as she saw Alphonse. "When I heard that you had come to see the Queen, I was afraid that you would be punished, so I asked my teacher to intercede for you."

"It's nothing, thank you." Alphonse smiled. He had only asked Hilde to do some free labor to teach him how to make activated charcoal, but he didn't expect Hilde to remember it and even give him something in return.

Hilde is indeed a friend worth having.

Alphonse then introduced to Deans, "This is also a nobleman from our northern region, Hilde, the eldest son of Count Auster. You can also call him brother; he's quite easy to talk to."

"I've heard of this brother's name," Deans nodded quickly and answered obediently.

After speaking, he politely bowed to Hilde and said, "Hello."

Alphonse then turned to Hilde, "He is Earl Wolf's son, Deans."

"I know, you're just standing up for him." Hilde waved to Deans. "You don't need to be so polite, let's get in the car."

"Where to?" Alphonse asked, startled.

"Of course, we're going back to Violet Academy," Hilde said matter-of-factly.

Alphonse paused, then asked, "Why go back there?"

"I rushed over here, and I didn't even bring the thank-you gift I wanted to take back to you." Hilde said, pointing at Deans. "Besides, he needs to go back and pack his things. He definitely can't stay in the Spellsword Division anymore. I'll ask the teacher to arrange a dormitory for him in our Alchemy Division later."

When he heard the first half of what he said, Alphonse wanted to decline, but when he heard the second half, he changed his mind.

It seems that Hilde had already planned out Deans's whereabouts.

Even if he were to drop out, Deans would still have to go back to the academy to pack his belongings.

Deans had no objection.

While he was talking, Master Coleman had already gotten into the car.

The carriage was quite spacious, with two rows of seats facing each other. Master Coleman was meditating with his eyes closed, as if taking a break.

Alphonse led Deans to sit down.

"Oh, by the way, I'm not the only one begging the professor to put in a good word for you; there's another junior student too," Hilde suddenly said.

"Who?" Alphonse didn't recall knowing any girl who attended Violet Academy.

"Chloe Falkrod," Hilde replied.

"Chloe? She's also a student at the Alchemy Department?" Alphonse suddenly realized that Chloe had indeed mentioned studying in the capital and having some connections.

"Yes, her talent in alchemy is so-so, but she's a decent person and quite shrewd in business," Hilde said. "She's doing business with you, isn't she? The cream you invented solved a big problem for the instructors in our Alchemy Department."

"What's the problem?" Alphonse asked curiously.

"It's about the food," Hilde chuckled. "You haven't tried our sorcerer's bread. It's a kind of bread made by adding fish powder and vegetable powder to rye dough. From a nutritional point of view, it's excellent, but the taste... well, that's hard to say."

Hilde made a vomiting face as she spoke.

"Is the food in your branch very bad?" Alphonse asked, even more puzzled.

"Not bad," Hilde shrugged. "But when the professors are researching, they don't have much time to sit down and eat properly. Most of the time they just fill their stomachs with bread to make sure they get enough nutrition, and it doesn't waste time."

Alphonse then understood what was going on.

The carriage had already started moving.

The carriage engraved with magic is truly different; not only is it much faster, but it's also incredibly smooth, with no noticeable bumps.
