Alphonse, holding Sera in his arms, leaped forward to the little girl's side and whispered comfortingly, "Don't be afraid, we're here to save you."

With that, a swift sword flashed from his fingertips, easily severing the metal clasp around the little girl's neck.

A strange emotion finally flickered in the little girl's empty eyes, but it wasn't joy. Instead, she shrank back towards the wall, "Redemption. Spring. I want to stay here."

She seemed unaccustomed to speaking, stammering, and appeared unwilling to leave the place.

Sera quickly chimed in, "She's a fallen fairy dragon; she must have been bewitched by the high priest of the Demon God Cult!"

Fairy Dragon?

Alphonse was amazed.

In the Western fantasy novels I've read, fairy dragons seem to be a type of dragon that is much smaller than ordinary dragons and is skilled in all kinds of magic, especially illusion magic. I never expected to see a real one in this other world.

The Demon Sword muttered as it continued, "I sensed Siegfried's presence on this little guy."

"What's that?" Alphonse asked curiously, reaching out to help the little girl up.

The little girl, however, was extremely resistant, slapping Alphonse's outstretched arm. "Father... let me stay... stay here."

Alphonse frowned, and a wisp of wind shot out, striking the little girl's pressure point precisely where she was about to fall asleep.

The little girl bared her teeth and let out a childish, low growl at Alphonse.

Clearly, she was unhappy about being attacked.

Sera was extremely surprised; even when Vitina cut the little girl with a knife, she didn't react like this.

The magic sword ignored the little girl's reaction; that was its master's business. It had no interest in rescuing the little fairy dragon and answered on its own, "Siegfried is another magic sword, with different abilities than mine. Its original owner, the King of the Mad Beasts, was killed by one of the Star Dragon Eight Swordsmen, the Sorrowful Wind Sword Saint, and then fell into the hands of Sinmasda. He was a very terrifying guy!" The Demon Sword seemed to have lingering fear when it mentioned this name.

"How terrifying are they?" Alphonse had heard of the Star Dragon Eight Swordsmen, eight heroes from various races who sealed away the Demon God and the Demon Race a thousand years ago, but he didn't know the names of each of them.

The Demon Sword paused for a moment, its tone becoming somewhat strange. "His strength isn't the strongest among the Star Dragon Eight Swordsmen, but his XP is the strangest. But there's no need to rush. Anyway, the magic sword is right beside me, and I can talk to it anytime.

Alphonse, carrying Sera and the other two on his back, leaped down with a light touch of his toes.

A flash of sword light appeared beneath his feet, and his descent immediately slowed.
