Wizard: I crush legends with martial arts.
Chapter 217 Confirmation
Alphonse was fully aware of the dire situation on both sides, but he had no time to spare to offer assistance.
There's still the Barrier Lord Kasobia right in front of us!
Just fighting him was already quite exhausting.
Now I finally understand why people say that anyone trying to cross the border will be intercepted by Kasogbia!
Alphonse breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing the two enormous figures disappear.
But then a thought struck him, and a chill ran down his spine. If the three Cassobians joined forces to attack, he would be in deep trouble, with no option but to flee in a sorry state.
Alphonse was on high alert, dodging the attacks from the greatsword and the beams while constantly moving around.
But the thing I was worried about didn't happen.
The demonic sword Falbunkus, transformed into a gauntlet, seemed to sense Alphonse's emotions and suddenly exclaimed, "Master, the flow of time in this border region was incorrect!"
"How so?" Alphonse asked urgently.
The Demon Sword spoke rapidly, "In my opinion, this isn't a clone technique; what appears are all the original form of Kasobia, just the same entity in different timelines."
Alphonse's eyes widened in astonishment. He was utterly bewildered. Could such a bizarre and fantastical thing really happen?
The Demon Sword continued, "The timelines don't overlap, meaning those two Cassobias who can't fight us are in the same area. Perhaps this unusual place is related to the mist barrier!"
Amidst his busy schedule, Alphonse glanced up at the mist deep in the border region, where there was only thick fog and the occasional strange texture that appeared among the flowing clouds, with the barrier reaching all the way to the sky.
I looked up at the sky again. Above, the clouds were still murky and condensed, yet they were orderly coiled into layers upon layers, blocking out the sunlight.
The strangeness of the border region of Fantalia is truly indescribable.
There was definitely something unusual. Even though only a moment had passed, Alphonse's senses were confused, making it difficult to judge whether time was long or short.
However, this point was not considered during the battle.
Alphonse trusted the judgment of the magic sword Falbunkus, after all, it had existed for so many years and its power was beyond his current reach.
He immediately began to think that if the dark elves and the half-demons of the City of Peace rushed into the border, it would attract another Kasobia. In that case, it would be better to let them stay outside and watch the battle.
It's much easier to deal with one than to deal with multiple ones!
After a long struggle, Alphonse figured out Cassobia's tactics.
His attacks are powerful and fast; even taking a single sword strike from him is unbearable.
But what they kept repeating was the slashing of the greatsword and the dense attacks of rays emitted from the eyeballs.
His massive size, ironically, became his disadvantage.
He immediately roared, "You all stay outside and don't cross the border! Let me deal with him alone!"
With this roar, Alphonse poured his true strength into it, making it sound like thunder, shaking the surrounding area.
The dark elves, who had survived the catastrophe, and the half-demons of the City of Peace, without needing Alphonse's reminder, dared not cross the border again.
Although they didn't understand what was going on, everyone knew that if they faced the Lord of the Barrier again, they would surely die!
Kasobia's power is like that of a mythical harbinger of disaster who descends upon the world to punish mortals.
They are simply not an opponent we can defeat.
Apart from Alphonse, the only other person who could fight him so fiercely until now, even with his divine weapon, was only able to block two attacks before being critically injured and on the verge of death.
"Trust in the Holy One! He will surely defeat Kasobia and lead us out of this land forsaken by the gods!" Sera shouted.
It would be a lie to say she wasn't worried; she felt a deep sense of concern for Alphonse.
But her brother was seriously injured and was still receiving treatment from the priest, so she could only be strong and try to calm the emotions of her people.
Immediately, Sera knelt down on the spot, clasped her hands to her chest, and prayed devoutly to the god of darkness, begging the god of her faith to protect Alphonse and not to perish under Cassobia's sword.
The dark elves all knelt down and began to chant prayers.
They had no other choice but to place their hopes on Alphonse.
Alphonse didn't care what the Dark Clan was doing; as long as they didn't interfere with the battle, that was all that mattered.
At this juncture, there is one thing that urgently needs to be verified.
Dodging a powerful slash from Cassobia's greatsword, Alphonse swiftly circled around to his feet.
A thought crossed my mind.
The sound was like the soft buzzing of a bee.
A colossal, dark vortex appeared out of thin air, unleashing a torrent of pitch-black sword energy.
In an instant, the dark and sinister sword light devoured a huge hole in Kasobia's ankle.
Kasobia's massive body swayed slightly, but he didn't fall. The thick black mist emanating from his wounds stabilized his body and reconnected him with his almost severed foot. His flesh and blood began to grow and recover rapidly.
But Alphonse wouldn't allow him to recover peacefully. He suddenly raised his hand and made a grabbing motion, immediately activating the technique to absorb necromantic energy.
Previously, he had always been thwarted, and I never thought his weakness would be in his feet, so I didn't target his legs.
They thought that only by smashing his head or those vital parts like his eyeballs could it be effective.
If the attack fails, he immediately flees into the distance. Although he continues to absorb the death energy, he is too far away to extract any more from Kasobia.
Now that they were closer, the thick black mist was immediately drawn in, and a portion of it was forcibly pulled out and placed into Alphonse's palm.
There's a chance!
Alphonse was overjoyed.
How could a dead soul not possess the aura of death?
This death energy was incredibly pure and vast!
It only delayed him for a moment before Kasobia's greatsword came crashing down again.
Alphonse, however, circled around to his heels.
Clamped to his calf, it used the "gecko climbing the wall" technique to ascend.
Although Kasobia also has eyeballs on its back, those huge eyeballs cannot see below its thighs when they roll.
As soon as Alphonse found a safe opening, he once again acted on his impulse, unleashing an invisible sword aura that pierced through the body.
Another hole was cut in Kasobia's thigh.
Using the same trick again, it was quite effective; he seized another wisp of deathly energy and brought it back into his body.
These two stolen necromantic energies were not enough to unleash a piercing, invisible sword aura, but they gave Alphonse hope.
Once Kasobia's body is destroyed, the necromantic energy can be extracted from him, and countless undead are still wandering in the distance.
This is equivalent to having one's energy replenished continuously.
If you accumulate enough over time, you can unleash a devastating, formless sword aura!
You think you can recover and have immortality? I'll wear you down!
I refuse to believe that the necromantic energy within you is inexhaustible! (End of Chapter)
