Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!
Chapter 117 The Mission Resumes
After nearly a month of seclusion in the laboratory, the dark silver nameplate on Lynn's waist once again emitted the familiar, rhythmic vibrations.
The monthly mandatory tasks for second-class apprentices arrived as scheduled.
That's right. During this time, in order to avoid being drawn into the war, Lynn has not yet been certified as a third-class apprentice.
Of course, war has not yet broken out; it seems to still be in the planning stages.
After being promoted to the third-class apprentice, you can unlock many privileges and resources, but it also means taking on more responsibilities.
The most significant benefit is the enhanced knowledge access and the reduced contribution point requirements for exchanging basic knowledge. This includes the full opening of the first floor of the Skeleton Archives and the unlocking of all restricted knowledge areas.
This held no appeal for Lynn, who had already moved all the knowledge from the first floor into his own [Memory Library].
The joy of getting something for free!
Then there is the qualification to audit advanced courses, which allows one to apply to audit some of the special lectures and advanced courses hosted by formal wizards or advanced apprentices, and to access cutting-edge research directions.
Of course, these courses cost money.
Secondly, access to various facilities and resources has been enhanced, and the range of tasks available for acceptance has also increased.
Some tasks are marked as requiring a third-level apprenticeship to accept, indicating high difficulty but also high rewards.
They also offer reservations for premium meditation rooms, rentals for private laboratories, and more.
Many of the privileges weren't very appealing to Lynn, except for the advanced meditation room, which was probably filled with much more negative energy than the laboratory.
However, the rental fee is quite high, and there is a negative energy condensation array in the laboratory. In addition, I can meditate on the magic stone every day, so it doesn't matter.

[Monthly Mandatory Task (Second-Tier Apprentice)]
Mission Location: [Eternal Night Graveyard - Outer Edge of the Rocky Graveyard]
Task details (choose one to complete):
1. Gathering: Gather 15 clusters of [Petrified Moss] from the outer perimeter of the Rocky Graveyard. The moss must remain active. (Reward: 100 Contribution Points)
2. Hunt/Investigate: Clear/investigate newly emerging anomalous undead activity outside the Rocky Graveyard, confirm their type, scale, and threat level, and collect samples or key information as much as possible. (Reward: 200 contribution points for completing an investigation, 500 contribution points for completing a hunt. These can be stacked.)
Task duration: 10 calendar days.
Mission Description: The Rocky Graveyard is an area of recent energy anomalies. The danger level of the outer perimeter is medium to high (you may encounter unknown types of undead and unstable energy environments).
It is recommended to be fully prepared, act in a team, obtain mission items on-site, and the nameplate will record energy characteristics and environmental information.
Note: Several low-level apprentices have recently gone missing in this area. Their last reports before disappearing mentioned "moving stones" and "mental dulling."
...
"A rubble graveyard...moving stones?"
Lynn raised an eyebrow as he looked at the mission description.
This doesn't sound like a traditional undead; it sounds more like some kind of earth elemental or mutant.
However, since it can cause the disappearance of several low-level apprentices, its strength is probably not low. Perhaps it is another "top-quality baby"?
Having developed an interest in "catching babies," he naturally wouldn't choose a simple gathering task.
For the next half day, Lynn went to Ghost Market to make targeted purchases.
Despite possessing "Tears of Tranquility" to protect her mind and soul, she still purchased two bottles of "Secondary Mental Protection Potion" to combat "Mental Apathy."
I also bought a bottle of [Stone Skin Potion] that temporarily boosts physical defense, as well as several [Healing Potion] and [Mental Health Potion].
Since it was an exploration mission, Lynn also specifically purchased three packs of [Dust Detection Powder] and one [Energy Detection Compass].
There's also a map of the area around the [Rough Stone Graveyard], a [Special Spirit Binding Rope] specifically for spirits, and a small bottle of [Activation Dissolver] for petrification.
After everything was ready, he shamelessly approached Gregor again and asked to use the teleportation array.
"Mentor... um, your student has to go on another mission." Lynn handed over the nameplate.
Gregor didn't even look up, and waved his hand impatiently:
"Go, go, go! Remember to replenish my negative energy pool before you leave! The experiments have been draining it a lot lately!"
"Yes, mentor," Lynn replied, pausing for a moment.
"This mission will take place in a rocky graveyard, which is said to be a bit strange... For the students' safety, we'll have to trouble you again..."
Gregor then raised his head, his bloodshot eyes glaring at him:
"You think this place is a free teleportation station?! I haven't settled the score with you from last time!"
Even so, he still scratched his hair in frustration, muttering "So troublesome," and got up to walk towards the private teleportation array at the back of the laboratory.
Once an exception is made, it will happen again...
After Lynn finished replenishing the "Negative Energy Pool", the teleportation array was also fully charged.
"This time the coordinates are 'Stone Outpost,' the closest neutral point to the Rock Graveyard. There are no coordinates closer than that. The energy field there has been very chaotic lately, and it's easy to get caught in a spatial rift."
Gregor adjusted the runes while warning, "Be careful, don't die out there. I still have your brains."
"Thank you, mentor!" Lynn used the Mimicry Technique to change his appearance and skillfully stepped into the formation.
After a flash of gray light and a familiar, slight dizziness, Lynn found himself standing in a place even more rudimentary and dilapidated than "Crow's Outpost".
The Shattered Stone Outpost is farther from the academy and the dangers in the wild are greater, so very few apprentices stay here.
This place was hastily constructed with huge rubble and broken metal beams; there were hardly any complete buildings, only a few crooked shacks and a low, rubble wall.
In the distance, beneath the sky, lies a seemingly endless "graveyard" composed of strangely shaped, gray-black rocks.
Many rocks stand tall like tombstones; that's the mission location—the Rocky Graveyard.
There weren't many people at the outpost at the moment. A few apprentices who looked exhausted were packing their belongings or trading items, and the atmosphere was somewhat heavy.
Lynn saw a group of apprentices returning, two of whom were being supported by undead guards, their eyes glazed over, clearly having suffered a severe mental shock.
This scene made Lynn's heart skip a beat.
Is our wizarding academy's "newbie zone" really that dangerous?
"New here? I advise you not to go out alone, wait for someone to go with you."
A third-class apprentice leaning against the wall spoke in a hoarse voice, pointing to the two wounded.
"Our team of five had only circled halfway around the perimeter when we ran into a group of 'stone golems.' They attacked us like madmen, their attacks accompanied by mental shockwaves. Luckily, we were strong enough that we had undead guards cover our retreat, which allowed us to escape..."
Lynn nodded to him, as if to thank him for the reminder.
This person has a good heart, and the atmosphere in the team seems good too.
If it were just a bunch of stone golems, it wouldn't be a problem; Megatron could wipe them all out with a single bone...
