Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!

Chapter 277 Cuisine of Primitive Tribes

Seeing Lynn get up to leave, the leader quickly got up as well, gesturing wildly.

He meant that the tribe had prepared a meal for him, and that he should stay and have something to eat before leaving.

Before Lynn could refuse, he called out towards the door.

The curtain was lifted, and several people carrying things filed in.

The one in the lead was holding a large piece of smoked seal meat, its surface golden brown and still sizzling with oil.

The second person carried a bowl of blood-red porridge, steaming hot—it was seal blood porridge, mixed with some unknown grains.

The third one was carrying a thick stack of white whale oil, frozen solid.

The fourth one was carrying a small basket containing a dozen or so bird eggs, the shells of which had spots on them.

The fifth one was holding a clump of dark green stuff that looked like some kind of seaweed, salted and dripping wet.

The sixth person was carrying a ceramic jar, the mouth of which was sealed with animal hide. Inside were pickled "fermented sea fish".

The seventh person carried a wooden tray with several neatly arranged rows of dried fish slices, as thin as paper and semi-transparent.

The eighth...

The eighth one came over carrying a round, chubby thing.

The object resembled the stomach of some kind of animal, its opening tied tightly with rope, and its surface covered with a layer of dried grease.

The stomach sac contained the carcasses of seabirds, their feathers still intact.

Pickled puffins.

The process involves stuffing freshly caught puffins, without removing their internal organs or feathers, directly into the stomach pouch of a seal, sewing it up, burying it in frozen soil, and letting it ferment for months to years.

Digging it up and eating it directly is the highest form of hospitality shown by local tribes to honored guests.

As for the taste...

Since it's "corpse" and "corpse fluid" that have undergone natural fermentation, the smell is naturally quite strong.

Although it hasn't been opened yet, the smell is already wafting over.

The stench was intense, like a mixture of rotting fish and fermenting entrails, with a strange sour smell mixed in between.

Lynn's sense of smell was much more sensitive than that of an ordinary person; the smell hit him right in the head, making him hold his breath instantly.

If an ordinary person smelled it, they would probably die on the spot.

Hmm...this group of primitive people is not included.

Lynn had initially been somewhat interested in the primitive foods on the table, thinking they would taste quite unique.

The smoked seal meat smelled good, and although the seal blood porridge looked strange, at least it was hot.

Bird eggs, seaweed, and dried fish slices were all fairly normal.

But as soon as this jar of pickled auk appeared, he lost his appetite.

It's so disgusting.

The chief pointed enthusiastically at the food, then at Lynn, meaning "Please help yourself."

Lynn waved his hand.

"No need."

He lifted the curtain, bent down, and stepped out of the igloo.

The wind and snow continued outside. He took a few deep breaths and felt the smell finally dissipate.

He probably hasn't been able to eat much these past few days.

The bone eagle flew out again and landed in front of him.

Lynn climbed up and nodded to the leader who had chased after him.

"I'll go check out the location from two months ago."

Having said that, the bone eagle flapped its wings and took off, carrying him northward.

Below, the tribespeople looked up at the rapidly receding black shadow, their gaze lingering for a long time.

Lynn flew to that area following the markings on the parchment.

Below was still a flat snowfield, not much different from other places.

Lynn had the bone eagle circle twice and scanned it carefully with his mental power.

There were no wolves.

There were no fresh footprints.

There were no remains of prey.

Lynn had expected this to happen; what could she expect from news from two months ago?

Okay, search it yourself.

He stood up from the bone eagle's back and waved his hand.

The Necropolis has opened.

A gust of wind flew out from the light and landed on his shoulder.

This Bone Raven leader has been with Lynn for over a decade, rising from level 2 to level 4. Its feathers are jet black and glossy, and the soulfire in its eye sockets is deep green.

Lynn patted its head.

"Take them to find it."

With a soft whistle, it flapped its wings and took to the sky.

It circled twice in the air and let out a sharp, long cry.

One after another, beams of eerie light flew out from the back of the bone eagle.

Thousands of bone crows poured out of the undead space, gathered around the gale, formed a loose search formation, and flew off in all directions.

That wasn't all; Lynn then unleashed the Howling Banshee Queen and her minions.

He pointed to the snowfield below.

"Have your people search together."

The Sorceress Queen nodded and raised her hand to issue the command.

Countless figures drifted away in all directions.

Lynn stood on the back of the bone eagle, watching the undead disappear into the snowstorm.

They don't feel the cold.

They never get tired, and they never complain.

With just one command, it will keep searching.

Lynn sat down on the bone eagle's back and immediately entered a meditative state, completely ignoring the cold wind in the air.

"Let's wait."

On the first day, there was no news.

The flock of bone crows flew two hundred miles away but found nothing.

The howling banshee drifted further away and returned to report that she had seen several herds of snow deer, a few polar bears, and some small wild animals, but no wolves.

The next day, still nothing.

Lynn changed direction, instructing the undead to search again.

By evening, Gale finally flew back.

It circled above Lynn's head, chirping rapidly, its wings pointing northwest.

Lynn stood up, a glint in his eyes.

"Found it."

A gale swirled overhead, wings flapped rapidly, and the cry was much sharper than usual.

Lynn stood up, summoned all the undead with [Heart of Starbound Domination], and then turned his gaze to the northwest.

"lead the way."

With a low whistle, the wind turned and flew northwest. Lynn patted the bone eagle, and the bone eagle flapped its wings and followed.

After flying for about an hourglass, the speed of the gale gradually slowed down.

It circled twice in the air, landed on a snowy hill, and called back to Lynn.

Lynn landed the bone eagle on the top of the snow hill and looked down.

Below is a frozen river valley, the river surface long frozen and covered with thick snow.

In the middle of the valley, a group of silver-white figures were moving about.

Frost Giant Wolf!

Lynn counted them: thirty-three adult wolves and sixteen or seventeen cubs.

Adult wolves are several times larger than ordinary wolves, with a shoulder height of nearly three meters. Their bodies are covered with thick, silvery-white fur, making them almost blend into the snow in the wind and snow.

This is their temporary camp, and they won't move until all the prey in the area has been hunted.

At this moment, some of them are resting, some are wandering near the rock wall, and several cubs are playing and rolling around in the snow.

The largest one was perched on a boulder in the middle of the valley, in the highest position with the best view.

It is a size larger than other wolves, and has a tuft of dark gray fur on its forehead, like a crown.

Frost Giant Wolf King.

Lynn stared at the wolf king, and the [Analysis] function was automatically activated.

As expected, the Frost Giant Wolf King at its peak level 5 was a tyrant in this northern territory, having devoured many caravans.
