Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!

Chapter 327 Successive Falls

News of the fall of the Plague City spread like wildfire.

It wasn't carried out by messengers or carrier pigeons, but by the "Holy Knights" who had managed to escape from other gates of the Plague City.

Their eyes were vacant, and they kept repeating the same phrase: "It's over... the city has fallen... the temple is gone..."

The fall of the temple caused these once devout Holy Knights to completely break down.

When the news reached the port city to the east, the priests there were still distributing potions.

It was a Sunday, and there was a long line at the temple entrance as patients waited to receive their medicine.

There's no other way; if I don't get the medicine, I'll just have to wait to die.

The priest stood on the steps, holding an incense burner in one hand and a medicine bottle in the other, reciting prayers.

The believers knelt on the ground, their foreheads pressed against the stone slabs, and chanted along.

A man covered in blood rode a horse galloping in from outside the city.

He was wearing the Crusader's knight's armor, the plates of which were full of cracks. His left arm hung down at his side, the bone broken, held together only by skin and flesh.

Clearly, his escape was not going smoothly.

He ran into the square, his warhorse fell to the ground, he got up and staggered toward the temple.

"The Plague City... has fallen..."

His voice was hoarse, as if it were being squeezed out from deep in his throat.

"Monsters...they're all monsters!"

These words caused an uproar among those around them.

The Plague City has fallen? Are you kidding me?

Who in the world can breach a city plagued by plague these days?

The leading priest did not panic. He stopped chanting and looked down at him. The believers also turned their heads and stared at the man, as if trying to see if he was real or not.

"Where is the archbishop?" the priest asked.

The man shook his head.

"Dead...all dead...the temple has been breached...the gods are not responding..."

The square fell silent for a moment.

Then violent riots broke out.

The priest raised his hand to signal for silence.

The Plague City is so powerful, with a massive number of believers and protectors; how could it be so easily breached?

This person's word alone is not enough to be believed; he needs to send someone to investigate in order to verify its authenticity.

But soon, he no longer needed to confirm it.

In the distance, the undead were already surging in like a tidal wave.

First, a dark shadow appeared on the horizon—a huge bone dragon and some flying undead.

Leading the way were the bone birds made from the remains of several thunderbirds; seven enormous bone birds appeared simultaneously, obscuring half the sky.

The six bone birds behind them are at the early stage of level 5, and one is at the mid stage of level 5.

The one at the very front was crackling with lightning, and its strength had actually reached the peak of level 5.

This is the very skeleton of the level 6 peak Thunderbird that Lynn found in the ruins.

Unfortunately, its soul had dissipated, leaving only bones. Lynn bought the soul of a level 5 flying magical beast, processed it, and then integrated it into the Thunderbird's bones to create this bone bird.

The fusion between the flying monster and the skeleton was only average. Although it retained its lightning abilities, it fell to the peak of level 5.

If we have enough high-end materials later, we can upgrade it again to level 6.

After they arrived, they did not swoop down, but hovered over the city, quietly waiting for the arrival of the undead army.

The people on the ground had never seen such power before, and when they looked up at the bone birds, their legs went weak.

Some people knelt down and kowtowed, some carried their children and ran into the house, and some stood there in a daze, as if they were nailed to the ground.

The bone birds ignored them, simply watching silently with their eyes burning with soul fire.

The real attack began on the ground.

A loud bang came from the direction of the east gate, the city wall shook, and bricks and stones fell from the battlements.

The soldiers guarding the city looked over there and saw a huge, dark gold skeleton ramming against the city gate.

They hurriedly retaliated, but unfortunately, the attack was like a tickle, causing no harm whatsoever.

The golden skeleton is none other than Megatron!

It stepped back a few paces, lowered its head, aimed its crown-like horns at the city gate, and then charged.

With a loud bang, the city gate, along with part of the city wall, shattered.

Wood chips flew, nails bounced off, and several soldiers standing behind the city gate were smashed into a bloody pulp.

Megatron stepped into the city.

It didn't rush to hunt down the ants; it simply stood there, watching the people scatter and flee.

Behind them, the skeletal earth dragon horde rushed through the city gates. Hundreds of earth dragons surged in at the same time, crushing the stone slabs and collapsing the houses along the street.

A priest rushed out of the temple, holding an incense burner in his hand and chanting incantations.

Green mist billowed from the incense burner and drifted towards Megatron, attempting to weaken his power.

Megatron looked down at the green mist, not even bothering to dodge, and the mist dissipated upon hitting its skeleton.

The skeleton was not corroded, did not smoke, and did not even change color.

The priest was stunned.

He recited it again, and the mist in the incense burner became thicker and greener, but Megatron still didn't react.

It strode toward the priest, each step causing the ground to tremble.

The priest stepped back onto the temple steps, tripped, and fell to the ground.

The incense burner rolled to one side, and green smoke billowed out from it, drifting into the air.

Megatron walked up to him, lowered his head, and stared at the little thing with the soul fire in his eye sockets.

The priest opened his mouth, wanting to shout out the god's name, but Megatron simply raised his foot and stomped down.

The temple doors were smashed, and the priest's body was crushed into the stone slabs, blood seeping from the cracks.

Megatron continued forward, entered the temple, and crushed the statues, the altars, and the priests hiding inside.

The temple collapsed, and dust and rubble flew up, obscuring the entire street.

The city fell, but the resistance within the city did not completely give up. The Christian Guard assembled at the street corner, forming a square formation with halberds pointing outwards and shields raised above their heads.

The commander, mounted on his horse, drew his sword and shouted:

"For God!"

The soldiers shouted in unison, but their hearts were pounding and their hands were trembling.

The skeletal earth dragons didn't care about any of that; they charged forward with a thunderous roar, crashing directly into the formation.

In an instant, the shield shattered, the halberd broke, and people were knocked away, trampled, and torn apart.

The formation broke apart, the soldiers lost their courage and fled in all directions.

The commander fell off his horse and was stepped on by a ground dragon.

He screamed and slashed at the earth dragon's foot with his sword. The blade struck the bone, chipping a gash.

The earth dragon lowered its head, looked at the commander, opened its mouth, and took a bite.

The city was filled with screams, cries, and the sounds of collapsing buildings.

There are too many undead; we can't kill them all or stop them.

The plague's energy had no effect on them; swords and blades could only leave white marks on bones.

The Guardians fought desperately, killing hundreds of low-level undead, but countless more remained behind.

Soon, the entire city fell completely.

A young soldier leaned against the corner of the wall, covered in blood, clutching a broken sword in his hand.

He watched the dead running past him, resignedly closed his eyes, and waited for death.

Has the great plague god abandoned them?
