Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!

Chapter 368 War Situation

Half a day later, as the communication slab vibrated, Lynn was sitting on the black rock, leaning against the bone dragon's leg and gazing at the sky.

No matter how long you look at the rules of holy light here, they always seem so magnificent and all-encompassing.

Since you've set your sights on reaching the top of the world, you should open your eyes to see more of the world in the future, otherwise you'll just be a frog in a well.

Pick up the stone tablet; the screen displays only one line of text: "Starting today, enter the area between the second and first defense zones and continue to eliminate the Holy Light creatures."

The signature is Marcus.

Hmm... as expected, they moved to the next line of defense to continue the cleanup.

It's alright. We're not going to the main battlefield, but to the area between the defensive lines to wipe out those who have infiltrated and slipped through the net.

He's good at this job; it's safer than guarding the outermost defensive line.

The outer Light creatures are organized units of the Light Legion, while most of the Light creatures between the defensive lines are remnants of the main force that were scattered and fled into the interior of the defensive lines in a panic.

Weaker, more scattered, and easier to deal with.

Lynn put the stone slab away, jumped off the rock, and prepared to carry out his mission.

He glanced at the undead army around him. Megatron was lying on the ground, dozing off. He wondered why an undead creature loved to sleep so much.

I remember when I caught it, it seemed to be sleeping with the mountains, right?

The Decepticons floated in mid-air like a dark cloud, and the demons on their bodies, unable to withstand the holy light from the sky, huddled inside their crystal armor, too afraid to show their faces.

The Balrog sat on a pile of rubble, the magma patterns on its body had darkened, and it was surrounded by countless demonic undead.

Nearly a million of their own souls have perished, stretching from east to west as far as the eye can see.

This force appears incredibly powerful at first glance, but if it were deployed to the front lines against the main force of the Holy Light faction, a single baptism of Holy Light would wipe out at least half of them.

The Holy Light's ability to control the undead is no joke. Even if he improved the Starbound Domination Heart, it would only allow the undead to hold out a little longer; it wouldn't make them immune to the Holy Light.

But when placed between defensive lines, these undead are utterly overwhelming against the scattered remnants of the defeated army.

Lynn opened the undead space, and dozens of "portals" unfolded in various directions, drawing back the undead army one by one.

Megatron transformed into a streak of light and disappeared into the doorway, Decepticon vanished as a shadow, and Balrog shrank into a ball of fire.

Hundreds of thousands of dead souls were collected over a period of almost half an hourglass.

In the end, only the Bone Dragon, the Myriad Manifestations, and the Divine Evil remained to guard the area.

Lynn mounted the bone dragon and flew towards the second line of defense, with Myriad Manifestations and Divine Evils guarding him on both sides.

Under the dark red sky, three figures flew towards the golden pillar of light.

The walls of the second defensive line were far superior to those of the fortifications in the third defensive zone.

The city wall was built of white megaliths, covered with runes that resisted the holy light. The runes glowed, like golden snakes crawling on the wall.

Rune cannons were mounted on the city wall, one every fifty meters, with the muzzles pointing outwards from the city.

Behind the city wall is the Wizard's Tower, where wizards patrol the top.

The city gate was a black iron gate with a huge emblem of death on it, blocking the holy light from entering.

Lynn jumped off the bone dragon's back and walked to the city gate.

Two guards stood at the entrance, both second-circle wizards, wearing gray robes of the Bone Spire and identification badges pinned to their chests.

One of the wizards, who had a short beard, looked Lynn up and down and then extended his hand.

"Identity badge".

Lynn took the Soul Crystal nameplate from his waist and handed it over.

The man with the short beard took the nameplate, probed it with his mental energy, and after confirming that it was correct, took out a palm-sized crystal plate from his waist, which was engraved with dense runes.

He placed the nameplate on the crystal plate, which lit up and displayed a line of green text.

Lynn, Lord of All Things, Third Ring Wizard, Intermediate Researcher at the Bone Spire, identity confirmed.

"Lord Lynn, further verification is needed. Please stand over there." The short-bearded man pointed to a circular area next to him, where a complex magic circle was drawn on the ground.

Lynn walked over and stood in the center of the magic circle.

The magic circle lit up briefly, and a beam of light rose from beneath his feet, sweeping over him from head to toe without triggering any alarms.

The man with the short beard nodded and returned the nameplate to Lynn.

"No problem, please come in, Lord Lynn."

Lynn took the nameplate but didn't leave immediately.

He glanced at the wizard towers and rune cannons on the city walls, then at the wizards patrolling the high towers, and asked, "What's the situation inside?"

The man with the short beard knew what he was asking and thought for a moment.

"The second line of defense is currently relatively calm. The Holy Light Bastards breached the first line of defense, but the academy provided support and recaptured it. Now, the main force has advanced to the outer perimeter of the first line of defense."

"This area in the middle is both safe and unsafe, as a portion of the Holy Light faction's main force is trapped inside the first line of defense and cannot get out."

"But there are always some that slip through the net, infiltrating from underground, from the air, and from spatial rifts. Although the number is not large, some of them are of a high level."

"A few days ago, a group of four-winged angels suddenly emerged from underground when we weren't paying attention and almost wiped out one of our supply stations."

Lynn nodded.

It's just a four-winged angel. It might be difficult for other dark wizards to deal with, but I've already killed quite a few of them, so it's not much of a problem.

"What about the first line of defense? Any news?"

The man with the short beard shook his head.

"The first line of defense is tough to get past. The main force of the Holy Light faction is all there. I've heard there are angel legions like Seraphim, Principalities, Virtues, and Cherubim..."

"And then there are the human forces under Heaven Mountain, such as the Holy Sons and Daughters, the Knights Templar, the Holy Crusaders, the Legion of Ascetics, the Inquisition, the Order of Discipline Priests, the Order of Priests, and those miscellaneous holy light behemoths."

"Our main force is stuck outside. We've been fighting for half a month and haven't made much progress. I heard that the higher-ups are bringing in more Stigmata Wizards in preparation for a strong attack on Paradise Mountain."

Lynn paused for a moment.

More Stigmata Wizards...

There probably aren't many beings of this caliber in the academy, right?

As far as I know, besides the three deputy tower masters, the only other holy marks I possess are the chiefs of the various systems.

For example, the chief of the necromancy faction, Victor, the Bone King, and the chief of the soul faction, Marfa, the Soul Weaver, once tried to recruit him.

They are also Stigmata.

Other department heads also mostly have Stigmata.

In addition, there are some holy marks that are constantly fighting on the frontier, which Lynn has never encountered even after being in the academy for so long.

Of course, even if you encounter it, you're unlikely to recognize it.

He's not far from that level; if it weren't for his pursuit of the so-called "Path of All Things," he would have already been ready to advance.

But he wasn't in a hurry; although he walked slowly, he walked very steadily.

Besides, with my own "cheat code," I won't be much slower, so what more could I ask for...?

If others knew he thought this way, they would probably be cursing him out.

He advanced to a third-circle wizard after just over a decade in the academy. Is that considered slow?

What about the others?
