Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!

Chapter 390 The Angel Descends

Inside the temple, Augustus knelt for a long time before slowly standing up, his mind already racing with calculations.

Strengthening faith is not something that can be achieved by mere words.

Believers need to see miracles and feel the presence of the Supreme God.

Weekly prayers alone are not enough.

The world has now been drawn to unknown territories, and there are no stars in the sky except for the sun and moon.

The meteorite that could cause an apocalyptic crisis is naturally gone.

Clearly, it was the great and supreme god who intervened.

This caused the goblins to lose their sense of urgency when praising the great supreme god, and the growth of their faith slowed down considerably.

A new method is needed to inspire believers and elevate their faith.

Augustus decided to bind supernatural power with faith, so that only believers with unwavering faith could be qualified to cultivate supernatural techniques.

The stronger one's faith, the more profound and complete the cultivation methods one can obtain, and the more subsequent methods one can acquire.

Those who lack determination can only learn superficial skills, or they will be eliminated in the selection process.

As for those who have no faith at all, they are not qualified to cultivate.

The oracle only mentioned strengthening faith and increasing the population, without specifying how to do it.

This shows that the Supreme God gave him full autonomy, allowing him to handle matters flexibly according to the actual situation.

Augustus had a plan in mind, but he couldn't rely entirely on himself.

He needs tools, tools that can detect faith levels, so that he can better allocate cultivation methods.

Augustus knelt on the ground, his forehead pressed against the cold earth, his hands clasped together.

"Supreme God, your servant begs. Please grant me an artifact that can detect the level of faith of believers, distinguish between piety and hypocrisy, and preferably also test innate attributes, select talents, and train your warriors."

After he finished speaking, he lowered his body even further, pressing his forehead tightly against the stone slab, and waited.

He didn't know if the great gods could hear his prayers, but he had no other choice.

Lynn sensed Augustus's prayer.

The request was reasonable, and Lynn naturally wouldn't refuse.

Without hesitation, he raised his right hand and used his spiritual power to probe the depths of the goblin world.

There is a crystal vein there, buried several thousand meters underground.

He cut a large piece of crystal from the vein and used his mental power to lift it from the ground and pull it out of the ground.

Crystal is transparent, without impurities, and refracts a rainbow of colors under sunlight.

Lynn suspended the crystal in mid-air, closed his eyes, and channeled his mental energy into countless fine needles, which simultaneously pierced the crystal's interior.

He was going to refine not just one crystal ball, but thousands.

The crystal began to spin, faster and faster, and fine cracks appeared on its surface.

The cracks spread along the crystal's grain, breaking it into thousands of uniformly sized fragments.

Each fragment is automatically trimmed and rounded, becoming a smooth sphere that looks quite round.

Lynn divided his spiritual power into thousands of strands and simultaneously inscribed runes on these crystal balls.

Explore the runes of faith, explore the runes of talent, explore the runes of attributes.

One layer, two layers, three layers—each crystal ball was completely enveloped in runes.

The outermost layer is the activation rune, which is activated upon contact.

The middle layer is the detection rune, responsible for scanning the soul, body, and spirit of the person who touches it.

The innermost layer is the feedback rune, which transforms the detection results into visible light.

The deeper the faith, the brighter the light.

The greater the talent, the purer the radiance.

Different attributes result in different colors.

Fire is red, water is blue, earth is yellow, and wind is cyan.

Lynn put thousands of crystal balls into a spatial bag.

After a moment's thought, he took out several previously captured magical artifacts from the ring, deciding to modify them to enhance the foundation of the Supreme Divine Court.

A cardinal-level priest's robe, stolen from the plague world, that can enhance the effects of divine spells.

It is an amulet seized from the Holy Light Plane. Once fully charged, it can withstand attacks of level three or lower.

There's also a sword, which was salvaged from Morpheus's legacy. It's of good quality, but I've never used it.

Lynn used his mental power to modify these magical artifacts, removing the original wizard's mark, engraving the emblem of the supreme god N'Zoth, and infusing them with a trace of holy light energy.

The robes turned gold, the amulet turned silver, and a faint golden light appeared on the sword blade.

These three divine artifacts are enough to uphold the prestige of the Supreme Divine Court.

That's not enough; we need to give these green-skinned little green guys, who have never seen the world before, a truly "extraordinary" shock.

Lynn then summoned twenty fallen angels and one hundred gray-winged warriors from the "Island of Death" and sent them to the mortal realm.

This is what true "prestige" looks like.

...

On the Imperial City Square, the sky suddenly darkened, as if something had blocked the sunlight.

The goblins looked up and saw a huge golden halo appear in the sky.

The aperture was slowly rotating, with flames flickering at its edge.

In the center of the halo, a golden beam of light shot down from the clouds and landed on the Supreme Divine Court Plaza.

A sacred song rang out, drifting down from the heavens, without origin or direction, yet clearly penetrating the ears of every goblin.

The sound was soft and gentle, like a mother soothing her child to sleep, or like the wind blowing through a wheat field.

The goblins stood in the street, heads tilted back, mouths agape, watching this scene in shock.

The first angel flew out of the halo.

Its wings were half black and half white, its armor was platinum, and it held a magnificent holy sword in its hand.

It descended slowly from the halo, its wings spread, golden light dancing at the edges of its feathers. Dark purple flames burned on the blade.

The second one flew out.

The third, the fourth...

Twenty fallen angels lined up and flew out of the halo, circled once above the square, and then landed on either side of the square.

Its wings were folded, its holy sword planted firmly on the ground, its head bowed, and it remained motionless.

Holy light poured down from the sky, like sunlight piercing through clouds after rain, shattering into countless tiny points of light.

It fell on the stone slabs of the square, on the dome of the temple, and on the goblins.

The Graywing followed behind.

One hundred gray-winged beings emerged from the halo; their wings were gray, their armor was gray, and their eyes were gray.

They lacked the majesty of fallen angels; they were only silent, a terrifying silence.

They flew out of the halo without circling, landing directly behind the fallen angel, lining up in five rows, wings folded, heads bowed.

A faint gray mist drifted from them, dissipating when illuminated by the holy light.

Holy light, hymns, angels...

The Most High God has appeared!

All the goblins in the imperial city knelt down involuntarily.

People knelt down in the streets, people knelt down in the squares, and even the guards on the city walls and at the city gates knelt down.

Holy light enveloped everyone, making them feel light and instantly erasing their injuries and illnesses.

Some people clasped their hands together, some pressed their foreheads to the ground, and some knelt by the roadside holding their children.

They chanted the name of "N'Zoth the High God" over and over again.

An old woman knelt at the entrance of the temple, her hands cupping her chest, tears streaming down her face.

"The Most High God... The Most High God has appeared... I saw it... I really saw it... An angel has come to take me away..."

Her voice was hoarse, and her lips were trembling.

A middle-aged man knelt on the side of the street, looking down at his hands.

Under the holy light, the age spots on his hands faded, and his skin became smooth.

He had suffered from rheumatism for five years, and his knees were always in pain, making it impossible for him to even climb stairs. Now the pain is gone, and his knees feel warm, like they are soaking in warm water.

He stood up and tried to take a couple of steps. His knees didn't hurt at all. He excitedly ran two laps, but still didn't feel any pain.

He knelt back down, his forehead hitting the ground with a loud thud.

"Supreme God...Supreme God..."

A little girl knelt beside her mother, looking up at the angels in the sky.

Her eyes shone with a golden light, and her mouth was open, unable to speak.

Is this... a fairy tale?

Her mother held her in her arms and whispered a prayer.

The little girl suddenly spoke up. "Mommy, look, those angels are watching us."

The mother looked up and saw a fallen angel looking in their direction.

Those eyes were dark purple, without pupils, only two flames burning inside.

The mother froze, lowered her head, and dared not look any further.

This angel... something feels off about him?
