Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!
Chapter 415 Sharp Brother's Transformation
(Thanks to "Black Armor of Cloud Sea City" for the two [Master Certification] items again. Thank you for your generous support.)
(I've added two extra chapters for the author these past two days, and I'm a little late today because of that. Sorry!)
...
Two hourglasses before the promotion banquet, Lynn entered the Stigmata Domain and landed on the Island of Death.
Gregor was squatting at the church entrance, with a translucent petri dish in front of him.
A grayish-white mist was churning in the petri dish, with tiny electric arcs flickering at its edges.
His eyes were fixed on the cloud of mist, his mouth slightly open, and his fingers hovering above the petri dish, ready to adjust the energy input at any moment.
It seems the mentor really can't sit still. With the Myriad Manifestations Mark right above his head, he still has the mood to conduct experiments.
Lynn walked over to him.
"Mentor, it's time to come out."
Gregor didn't look up. "Wait a moment, this step will be done soon."
Lynn stood there for a few moments, and the mist in the petri dish suddenly churned, and the electric arc beat even faster.
Gregor flicked his finger along the edge of the petri dish, cutting off the energy input, and the mist slowly calmed down.
He let out a long breath, stood up, and put the petri dish into his spatial bag.
"What is it?"
"Tonight is my promotion banquet, and you're my mentor, so you have to come."
Gregor frowned. "You can go by yourself. I'm just getting to the point."
He pointed inside the church. Through the open doors, one could see the laboratory filled with instruments, several of which were still running.
"It took me three days to find the pattern at that point, and tonight is the perfect time to observe it."
Lynn was somewhat helpless.
"Mentor, tonight is your disciple's moment to shine. You are practically a main character yourself, so you have to help me out."
Gregor remained silent for a few moments.
He looked at Lynn, then at the instruments inside the church.
Then he sighed, put away the spatial bag, and patted the dust off his robe.
"Okay, wait for me a moment."
He went into the church and closed the door.
Lynn stood outside the door waiting, guessing that her mentor was probably going to make some changes.
Fifteen minutes later, the door opened.
When Gregor came out, Lynn was clearly taken aback.
Whose "handsome guy" has wandered out here?
Gregor changed into a dark gold wizard's robe.
The robe was clearly a new one that hadn't been worn many times; the dark gold fabric had black patterns that extended from the collar to the hem.
His hair was combed; the messy hair was neatly combed back, revealing a smooth forehead.
His beard was shaved off, and his chin and cheeks were clean-shaven, revealing a sharply defined jawline.
His eyes weren't large to begin with, but because they weren't covered by a beard, they appeared deeper. Standing there, he looked at least ten years younger than usual.
Lynn looked him up and down.
Goodness, the slovenly, unshaven "Sharp Brother" has now transformed into a very masculine and stylish man!
"Mentor, are you trying to revive your career?"
Gregor kicked Lynn's shin lightly.
"roll."
Lynn dodged, unable to suppress a chuckle.
The two left the goblin world one after the other. Gregor's communicator suddenly vibrated. He glanced at it and spoke to Lynn.
"You go ahead, I'm waiting for someone."
"Waiting for whom?"
Gregor waved his hand. "You'll find out soon enough."
After saying that, he walked toward his laboratory on his own.
Lynn also returned to her laboratory.
Back in the lab, Lynn changed into the new purplish-black robe that symbolized his identity.
The stigmata mark has been shrunk and moved to the right chest area, making it almost invisible unless you look closely.
He clipped the Void Nameplate to his waist, conjured a mirror, and tidied himself up in a rather flamboyant manner. He then dusted off non-existent dust from his robe before leaving the laboratory.
After leaving the laboratory area, he walked along the main road. As he passed the skeletal remains storage area, a familiar figure silently appeared behind him.
Lynn did not turn around.
He had smelled the warm aura emanating from that figure for a week on the third floor of the skeletal remains storage room; it was all too familiar.
Turning around, he saw Wayne standing behind him, wearing a long golden robe.
The robe was very bright, like a bright lamp on the dimly lit main road.
His hair was still tied back, hanging down to his waist, with tiny golden specks dancing at the ends.
He smiled, revealing two rows of neat white teeth.
Those teeth stood out starkly against the golden robe and black background, almost blinding Lynn.
Lynn's eyes narrowed slightly.
"Lord Wayne, could you please tone down the light emanating from you?"
Wayne looked down at his robe.
"This is already the darkest it can be."
He looked up, his smile unchanged.
"Let's go."
The two walked side by side across the main road toward the banquet hall.
Lynn walked on the left and Wayne on the right, and the wizards and apprentices they encountered along the way bowed and made way for them.
Their gazes lingered on Lynn for a few seconds, then shifted to Wayne, before they lowered their heads, unable to look any longer.
When the two great Stigmata Wizards walked together, no one dared to look them in the eye.
The banquet hall is located on the middle level of the Bone Spire; it is a circular stone hall.
The dome was very high, inlaid with luminous crystals, and the soft light illuminated the entire hall.
Several huge tapestries hung on the walls, depicting the achievements of the Stigmata Wizards of the Bone Spire throughout the ages.
In the center of the hall stood a long table covered with a black tablecloth, laden with wine and rare food.
High-level wizards generally no longer need to eat after their bodies have become regularized and energized, so the food at this banquet is not important.
Several sets of sofas and chairs are scattered on both sides of the hall for people to rest and chat.
When Lynn and Wayne entered, there were already dozens of people there.
They were scattered throughout the hall, chatting in twos and threes. Their voices were not loud, but when mixed together, they buzzed like a swarm of bees.
The short, stocky Harold was the first to see Lynn.
He squeezed out of the crowd, followed by seven or eight people.
Those people were wearing robes of various colors, all of excellent quality, but none of them were the standard robes of the academy wizards.
They were the shopkeepers of Ghost Market and some shops outside the Academy.
"Lord Lynn! Congratulations!" Harold walked up to Lynn and bowed deeply.
The people behind him bowed, their waists bending even lower than Harold's.
After all, he is a Saint Mark Wizard, and there are only a handful in the entire academy. In the absence of a True Spirit, he is considered to be at the top level.
Lynn nodded.
"Harold, it's been a long time."
Harold straightened up, stepped aside, and introduced the people behind him one by one.
"This is Old Corey from 'Magic Construct,' whom you know. This is Master Todd from 'Bonesmith's Shop.' This is the deacon from 'Soul-Binding Bell Tower,' whom you've also met. This is Master Kross from 'Runework,' whom you helped solve the problem of the rune array."
"And these are the owners and managers of various shops outside the academy. They came to congratulate you on your promotion."
