Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!

Chapter 430 I'm staying here!

At the entrance to the ossuary, Lynn raised his right hand, and golden light shone from his palm.

Light surged from her palm and fell on Anli, forming a thin film of light on her body.

Anli is, after all, an ordinary person. This light membrane is to prevent her from being affected by the various death auras, undead power, and pollution inside the Island of Death when she enters it.

Anli's body warmed up, keeping the deathly aura of the Eternal Night Graveyard at bay.

Her complexion changed from pale to rosy, her brows relaxed, and the corners of her mouth turned up slightly.

"Thank you, Uncle-Master." An Li's voice was a little louder than before.

Lynn withdrew his hand. "Let's go, I'll take you to see your mentor."

He raised his right hand, and a grayish-white light surged from his palm, enveloping the three people's bodies.

When the light faded, the three of them were already standing on the black, scorched earth of the Island of Death.

The sky was grayish-white, and three thousand chains of rules hung down from the depths of the sky, each one glowing.

Field had not yet become a formal wizard and could not see these giant webs of rules, let alone Anri.

Field took her hand and led her toward the church.

The church walls are black, the roof is pointed, and the statues on the roof are still glowing.

Anri was being dragged along by Field, her neck twisted, her eyes still fixed on the huge statue on the roof.

"Father, look! My martial uncle is glowing!"

Field gave her a hard knock on the head.

"Shut up, don't talk nonsense!"

The church doors were open, and the instruments inside were neatly arranged.

Gregor squatted intently in front of the control panel, holding a petri dish in his hand, in which a cloud of grayish-white mist was churning.

His hair was messy, his beard was unshaven, and there were several stains on his robe.

Anli let go of her father's hand, ran over, and hugged Gregor from behind.

"Grandpa Gregor!"

Gregor's body stiffened.

The steam in the petri dish churned even more violently, almost exploding.

He steadied the petri dish in his hand, turned his head and saw An Li's face, a look of surprise flashing in his eyes.

Although he hadn't met Anli many times, he quite liked this quirky little girl.

After all, he's a little guy of my grandson's generation.

"Anli, what brings you here?"

"My father brought me here." Anli let go of Gregor's hand, stood next to him, and peered into the petri dish at the mist.

"Grandpa, what are you doing?"

"Children don't understand experiments."

An Li pouted. "Why are you all like this? I'm almost fifteen, not a child anymore."

Gregor smiled, placed the petri dish on the worktable, and stood up.

He looked at Field, who stood in the doorway with a wry smile on his face.

"Mentor, I've run into a problem." Field walked up to Gregor.

"Anli wants to cultivate, but she lacks the talent. She can't become a wizard, a mage, or a knight. Do you have any suggestions?"

Gregor looked at Anri, and Anri looked back at him, her eyes bright with expectation.

Gregor remained silent for a few moments.

"Talent is predetermined and hard to change. Otherwise, the academy wouldn't need to go to so much trouble to recruit promising apprentices; they could just mass-produce them. I don't have any better solutions either."

Field's heart sank.

"The academy does have some forbidden methods, but they have serious side effects," Gregor said in a low voice.

"For example, the Talent Stealing Curse researched by Medusa, the Eye of Misfortune, can plunder the talents of others."

"But stolen talent is not one's own; it will corrupt the soul, causing a drastic change in temperament, and preventing one from ever reaching the level of a formal wizard."

Field shook his head. "If that doesn't work, is there any other way?"

Gregor frowned in thought.

"My research project, 'Death Blossom,' can indeed alter one's talents, but it's still under development and probably won't be realized in the short term."

"The last time we used it on Lynn, there was a lot of luck involved. Some things haven't found reliable alternatives yet. Give me a few more decades, and maybe we can perfect it to a stable and usable state."

Gregor looked at Field.

"But Anri can't wait decades, and I can't use an imperfect death bloom anymore; the risk is too great."

Field looked at Anri; he couldn't possibly let Anri participate in the "Death Blossom" experiment, which was a death sentence.

Anli was also looking at him.

There was a light in my daughter's eyes, a light of resentment.

Since the advisor has no solution, then...

"Lord Lynn." Field turned around and looked at Lynn, who was standing in the doorway.

"Do you have a solution?"

Lynn shook her head.

He can create a body with mage talent, but he can't directly add talent to someone else.

Field fell silent.

He walked up to Anli, squatted down, and placed his hands on her shoulders.

"Anli, let's go back."

Anli took a step back and broke free from her father's grasp. "I'm not going back."

Field frowned. "Anley, don't be stubborn."

Anli's eyes reddened.

"I'm not being willful. I don't want to go back to Graystone City, I don't want to do laundry, cook, and clean every day like Mana, and I don't want to spend my whole life in that small place."

"There's nothing there, no extraordinary abilities, no cultivation, just buying groceries, cooking, and washing clothes. I don't want to be a village girl."

If Field hadn't brought her here and shown her this bizarre world, she might have only thought about marrying Leon, having children, and living a peaceful life.

Having seen the real world, how could they be content with an ordinary life?

Field opened his mouth, but said nothing.

"I want to stay here for a while. I'll assist Grandpa and help him with his experiments. I'm not leaving."

Anri turned to look at Gregor.

"Grandpa, please take me in."

Gregor looked at Anri's stubborn face and shook his head helplessly.

"Okay, then stay."

Field was getting anxious.

"Mentor, she doesn't know anything and isn't suited for this environment. She'll only cause you trouble if she stays here."

"So what if I'm making things worse?" Gregor walked back to the workbench and picked up the petri dish.

"I've lived for over a hundred years, why would I be afraid of a little girl causing trouble? It just so happens that this world is in the early stages of the extraordinary, so maybe I can find a way to cultivate."

Before Field could say anything more, Lynn spoke up.

"My mentor is alone on the island; it would be good for him to have some company."

Field looked at Gregor, then at Lynn, and finally at Anri.

Anli's eyes were full of pleading.

He sighed. "Alright, you stay here and don't cause trouble for Grandpa and Uncle-Master."

Anli nodded vigorously, her braids swinging twice behind her.

"I won't cause any trouble."

Field glanced at her, turned and walked out of the church, his figure disappearing into the gray mist.

Anri stood there, staring blankly at Field's departing figure.

Gregor walked over to her and patted her on the shoulder.

"There are empty rooms on the third floor, and they're fully equipped with daily necessities. Your uncle will have someone deliver the food. Go and get ready first."

Anri looked up at Gregor and smiled.

"Thank you, Grandpa."

She ran up the stairs, her footsteps thumping on the wooden steps.

Gregor watched her figure disappear around the corner of the stairs, shook his head, and continued fiddling with the petri dish.

Lynn stood at the door, watching Anri run upstairs.

This lively little girl can certainly bring more brilliance to the world.
