Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!

Chapter 634 Dark under the lamp

Once he had a target, Lynn immediately took action, turning the old Marfa laboratory upside down and continuously analyzing the data.

They searched through cabinet after cabinet, analyzing all kinds of materials and tools, not even overlooking the cracks in the floor and the rune nodes on the walls.

The laboratory was full of things: materials, magical artifacts, various spirits, and experimental records were piled up all over the floor, but there wasn't a single credible object.

It seems that the only keepsake in this laboratory is the "Soul Crystal".

Lynn was not giving up, so he took out the spoils he had "seized" from Marfa and the various resources from the hiding places he had later discovered based on his memory, and analyzed them one by one.

Unfortunately, it still hasn't been found.

Based on the clues in his memory, he went to several secret locations where Marfa had hidden resources in various parts of the Eternal Night Cemetery.

These locations are all quite remote; one is below the Waste Dump Cliff, another is in a cave in the Valley of the Howling Banshees, and the third is in an abandoned burial chamber on the outer layer of the Eternal Tomb.

He searched through everything, finding only magic stones, materials, and souls; the keepsake was nowhere to be found.

"That woman, she really hid it well." Lynn stood in the empty storage room and cursed angrily.

The fact that the token hasn't been found in so many places suggests that Marfa is very wary. It's highly likely that the tokens are scattered in some unknown place unrelated to her.

At that moment, Lynn suddenly remembered that he had also inherited two shops from Marfa.

That's where Marfa has been operating the longest; perhaps something still remains there.

Without hesitation, Lynn's consciousness was directly projected into the flesh and blood clone that was sitting in "Lynn's Dream Corridor".

In the back hall of the Dream Corridor, a "clone" that looked exactly like Lynn was resting with his eyes closed when he suddenly opened them.

He stretched his neck and then activated the magic array beneath him.

A flash of grayish-white light appeared, and another "Lynn" appeared in the back hall; it was Lynn's true form.

Without the "analysis" cheat code, Lynn still needs to do some things himself.

The teleportation array was a short-distance teleportation array left by Lynn to facilitate his movement between the shops.

Lynn walked out of the back hall and said to the apprentice at the door, "Bring Basso here."

The apprentice waiting at the door was startled when Lynn spoke up and quickly ran to find someone.

Basso arrived quickly, bowing as he entered: "Sir, you wanted to see me?"

"Did Marfa leave anything behind when she was in the shop?" Lynn asked.

Basso was taken aback, thought about it seriously, and said, "Please wait a moment, sir, let me call everyone over and ask them."

He went out for a walk and called over all the stewards and apprentices in the shop.

Upon hearing this, several experienced apprentices immediately rummaged through the storeroom and behind the counter and pulled out a few items.

"My lord, these items were made by Marfa herself and left for the shop."

Basso held up several items and introduced them:

"There is an amplification crystal for the memory weaving table, an emotional filter, and two soul lamps for nurturing the soul."

Lynn took the items one by one and scanned them carefully with his analytical abilities.

The amplification crystal structure was normal, the emotion filter was just a regular witch array weaving, and the two soul lamps didn't hide anything.

These are all just normal magical artifacts, with no hidden tricks.

"Is there anything else?" Lynn asked.

Basso shook his head: "That's all we have in the shop. The rest we added ourselves later."

Lynn didn't say anything, but instead asked him to contact Sim at the Soul Pawnshop and bring back everything Marfa had left behind.

Sim arrived quickly, bringing two things with him.

"My lord, these are the only two items left behind by Marfa in the pawnshop: a soul weighing scale and a soul-locking contract seal."

Sim placed the items on the table and even wiped the scale pan with his sleeve.

Lynn took it and analyzed it.

The scale is fine, and the Soul-Locking Seal is also normal.

"Not these." Lynn frowned and put the things aside.

Basso and Sim stood to the side, not daring to breathe.

They didn't know what Lynn was looking for, but seeing that Lynn's expression was off, no one dared to ask any more questions.

Lynn felt a little irritated.

The shop was where she had run it for many years, yet she didn't even leave behind a real keepsake. Wasn't that being a bit too cautious?

He leaned back in his chair, tapping his fingers on the table.

Just then, the crystal wind chimes at the shop entrance rang.

A customer wearing a gray cloak pushed open the door and entered, causing the crystal wind chimes to tinkle a few times.

The person seemed to have just come in to browse, walked around the counter once, and left when no one greeted them.

Lynn subconsciously looked up at the crystal wind chimes, which looked somewhat familiar.

It was a string of crystal wind chimes that constantly changed soft colors, making a clear and melodious tinkling sound in the wind.

It makes a clear, crisp sound when customers come in, attracting a lot of foot traffic.

I remember being drawn to this wind chime when I was taking the third entrance exam during my apprenticeship, and I almost went into the shop.

Lynn had analyzed the wind chime before and remembered that it contained a gentle mental guidance array that would unconsciously make passersby lower their guard and create an urge to go inside.

This impulse only affects lower-level apprentices; it has no effect on formal wizards.

Lynn hadn't paid any attention to the wind chime at first, but when his gaze swept over it, he habitually used his analytical abilities to take a look.

At that glance, Lynn's eyes lit up.

There's something inside the wind chime!

Within the very center of the crystal wind chime, a faint wisp of soul energy was hidden.

The fluctuations were disguised so well that they were completely consistent with the frequency of the soul crystal fragments of the wind chime itself, and could not be detected at all without careful observation.

Lynn stood up, walked directly to the door, and with a wave of her hand, took the entire string of wind chimes off the door frame.

"Sir?" Basso looked at him in confusion.

"Where did this wind chime come from?" Lynn asked.

Basso thought for a moment and said, "It's been there for a long time; it was already there before we took over. No one touched it when Marfa was around."

"Has anyone noticed anything unusual about this wind chime that's been hanging here for so long?" Lynn asked.

Basso knew there was something fishy about the wind chimes, and beads of sweat appeared on his forehead: "Sir, these wind chimes just make a sound normally, there's nothing unusual about them."

Lynn didn't say anything more and focused her attention on the wind chimes.

He dared not use his mental power to probe into the wind chimes, for fear of triggering the restrictions left by Marfa.

Using only analytical capabilities to repeatedly scan from the outside is like trying to touch something inside through a layer of cloth.

The more you look at it, the clearer it becomes.

Inside that bone tube was indeed a tiny token.

It is still dormant and has not been triggered.

"So this is where she was hiding." Lynn chuckled. "This woman really knows how to pick a spot."

As the saying goes, the most dangerous place is the safest place.

People come and go from the shop every day, and the wind chimes ring above everyone's heads, but no one discovers the secret hidden inside.

By openly laying out their cards in the open, Malfa has taken the art of playing the "dark under the lamp" to its extreme.
