Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!

Chapter 641 Strengthening the Causal Line

How exactly can we strengthen the "father-son bond" to reinforce that "causal relationship"?

Lynn spent an entire day thinking about this problem.

The Star Trail Fragment has a real destiny; he must produce something real to activate and use it.

But he wasn't sure if he had any karmic connection with Lin Chen, like that between father and son.

If not, the fragment is just a piece of waste.

If so, how do you dig it out from a pile of distracting thoughts?

His first thought was to brainwash himself directly.

For a Stigmata Wizard, modifying self-perception is not difficult.

He can implant a suggestion into himself on a spiritual level, forcibly making the identity of "father" extremely important.

If the soul's strength is high enough, this suggestion can last for a long time.

Lynn acted immediately.

He sat at the experimental table and used soul threads to construct a seed of directional suggestion in his consciousness.

After the seed took shape, he stared at it for a few seconds, pondered for a moment, and ultimately decided not to plant it.

"If the fragments were genuine, this kind of counterfeit would definitely not pass muster."

Lynn scattered the seeds of suggestion and cursed.

"This thing can't even fool itself, so how could it possibly fool fate?"

Brainwashing uses false consciousness to cover up true consciousness, but what it wants is genuine emotion.

As Hoshimi said, it has to be something you already have, but have always ignored.

Lynn changed her approach again.

Since brainwashing is impossible, let's create an "illusion" simulation and play a virtual reality game to strengthen this "father-son relationship".

Although the simulation is fake, the "emotions" that naturally arise in the simulation are real, without any external force.

"If it's not in my memory, then I'll create a real experience," Lynn said in a low voice.

He had an idea.

Using the power of the world, along with the rules of time and space, a completely closed simulated world is constructed within the world of the Holy Mark.

Just like the "Truman Show" of the past life, it makes it impossible for those in it to distinguish between reality and illusion.

He can build a completely realistic scene in the world of the Holy Mark and re-enact Lin Chen's life from birth to adulthood.

He entered into the relationship as a father, lived with him, and gradually developed feelings for him.

This idea appealed to Lynn.

Although the simulated Lin Chen is not real, the environment, events, and interactions can be made as close to reality as possible.

If he invests enough time in it, his feelings for Lin Chen will naturally grow.

Lynn acted immediately.

He first carved out an independent area within his own world of sacred marks, using spatial rules to completely isolate this area from the outside world.

Without his permission, those inside cannot get out, and those outside cannot get in.

Then he used the power of the world to lay out the landscape.

It is a small landmass with a quiet yet lively town in the center. Several main roads lead to the outside world, and beyond the town are vast mountains, plains and rivers.

Lynn planned to build a relatively complete "small world" around that small town.

As one of the main characters, he cannot retain the power of the "Stigmata," otherwise he would be too strong, unable to experience any ups and downs, and unable to develop much emotion.

Lynn planned to establish himself as the head of an ordinary wizarding family in this small town, named the Greyfeather Family.

The Gray Feather Clan's residence is located in the east of the city, covering a considerable area. The courtyard walls are dusty and gray, and several old trees cover most of the roof.

"The environment is almost ready," Lynn said.

Next are the time rules.

He sped up the time flow in this area; one day outside was equivalent to one year inside.

This way, he wouldn't have to spend more than ten years in the simulation, but would truly feel the passage of more than ten years.

Next, he used a magic array to fix the boundaries of the entire simulated world.

Thirty-six bone pillars were inserted into the spatial interlayer, their surfaces covered with time runes.

Each one is connected to his mental energy, and he can stop the simulation at any time if he wants.

"What about the characters?" Lynn stood in the center of the simulated world, looking around and frowning in thought.

He first tried to condense the power of the world.

Ailiya, Lin Chen, Xixi, Lin Yao, along with some "NPC" butlers and several guards, emerged one by one from the light dust.

His appearance, height, and clothing were all sculpted according to his memory, and they looked quite realistic.

"My lord." Arya smiled at him, but her expression was lifeless.

Lynn frowned slightly, but nodded nonetheless:

"Let's simulate it first and then make changes if there are any shortcomings."

For the first simulation, Lynn did not start from when Lin Chen was born, but went straight to when he was eight years old, to see if there were any problems with the interaction and communication between him and the character.

Simulated startup!

The once desolate town was now filled with the sounds of people, and smoke rose from the chimneys of houses.

Lin Chen practiced swordsmanship in front of the house, while Lin Yao squatted by the vegetable garden catching insects.

Arya was sewing clothes inside the house when Sisi came out of the kitchen carrying a basin of water.

Everything seemed normal.

But the more Lynn looked at it, the more awkward she felt.

Lin Chen's sword-wielding movements were excessively precise; the amplitude of each strike was exactly the same.

Lin Yao's laughter was loud, but it sounded like it had been pre-recorded, lacking any vitality.

Lynn walked up to Lin Chen, squatted down, patted his head, and asked, "How was your practice today?"

Lin Chen stopped what he was doing and looked up at him.

His eyes were bright, but empty inside, appearing unusually lifeless.

"Reporting to Father, I have completed thirty repetitions of the basic sword stance today," Lin Chen said, enunciating each word clearly.

Lynn frowned slightly. This child spoke as if reciting lines, like an AI robot with little adaptability.

"Are you tired?" Lynn asked.

"Not tired," Lin Chen shook his head.

"What do you want to eat? Dad will go buy it for you," Lynn said.

"Father can arrange it," Lin Chen said.

Lynn looked at him without saying a word for a long time.

He reached out and patted Lin Chen's head again.

Lin Chen didn't dodge, nor did he show any affectionate expression. He just stood quietly, like a wax figure.

Lynn lowered his hand and sighed.

"Never mind," he said softly.

He then walked up to Aria.

Arya was folding clothes with practiced ease, a smile playing on her lips, seemingly quite content with her current life.

Lynn sat down next to her, trying to start a casual conversation.

"Nothing much happening in the family today, right?" Lynn asked.

"Reporting to you, my lord, all is well," said Aria.

"How's Lin Chen's meditation going lately?" Lin En asked.

"Chen'er is very hardworking," Ailiya said.

"Take a rest if you're tired," Lynn said.

"Okay," Aria nodded.

Lynn sat there for a while, but couldn't sit still any longer.

That's so awkward.

He stood up, walked into the courtyard, and looked at this carefully constructed little world, feeling empty inside.

These people won't bother him, won't argue with him, won't complain when he comes home late, and won't greet him with any questions when he returns.

They simply reacted "correctly" according to pre-set logic.

How can a life without emotional ups and downs possibly produce genuine "feelings"?
