Chapter 96 Yun Zhongzi

On this day, Hongyun and Zhenyuanzi were preaching to their disciples when suddenly, they both stopped preaching.

As the disciples were wondering what was going on, they heard Zhen Yuanzi say to his two disciples, "Qingfeng, Mingyue, go outside and bring your senior brother in."

Upon hearing this, Qingfeng and Mingyue were slightly taken aback. Their disciples were all here, so how could there be any senior brother outside?

Upon hearing this, Xuanfeng's heart stirred, and his ears twitched slightly, indicating that he already knew who had arrived.

But there was also some curiosity. They wondered what purpose this person had come to their Pure Land.

Although Qingfeng and Mingyue didn't understand, they didn't dare to ask any more questions and quickly got up and left.

After a while, the two brought in a young Taoist priest. He was dressed in a simple white Taoist robe, but his aura was exceptionally ethereal, like the clouds in the sky, extremely carefree.

Upon seeing Zhen Yuanzi and Hongyun, the young Taoist priest quickly bowed and said, "Yun Zhongzi greets Fifth and Sixth Uncles."

This young Taoist was none other than Yun Zhongzi, a disciple of Yuanshi Tianzun at the Jade Void Palace on Kunlun Mountain.

Speaking of which, Yun Zhongzi and Hongyun are somewhat related. Yun Zhongzi was a being created by the essence of Hongyun's cultivation before he attained enlightenment, which was inadvertently leaked out and combined with the clouds in the sky.

Therefore, Yun Zhongzi can also be considered the son of Hongyun, and has some connection with Hongyun. The fact that Yuanshi Tianzun sent Yun Zhongzi this time is partly due to this connection.

At that moment, Hongyun nodded and said, "I already know everything that my second senior brother sent you here for. You don't need to say anything. Just go back and report that Hongyun will definitely go when the time comes."

Zhen Yuanzi nodded in agreement.

Upon hearing this, Yun Zhongzi knew that the sage was all-powerful, able to deduce the secrets of heaven, and knew everything. His presence here was merely a formality.

Even if it's just a formality, I still have to go through with this trip. Now that I heard that Hongyun has agreed, I feel relieved. I quickly bowed to Hongyun and Zhenyuanzi again before taking my leave.

However, at this moment, Zhen Yuanzi called out to him, "You don't need to rush back."

"You and we have some kind of connection. Since you're here, why not listen to what your sixth uncle and I have to say?"

Just as Yun Zhongzi was in a dilemma, Qingfeng placed a futon next to him.

Yun Zhongzi then sat down.

So Zhen Yuanzi and Hongyun continued preaching for about a hundred years before they stopped.

Yun Zhongzi was still immersed in enlightenment. When he woke up, he found that Zhen Yuanzi and Hongyun were nowhere to be seen.

Among the people beside him, only a young Taoist priest dressed in the same white robe seemed to be waiting for him.

Yun Zhongzi recognized the young Taoist. He noticed that the young man had an exceptionally handsome face, but also possessed an aura that was extremely vast and pure.

This young Taoist was Kong Xuan, the second disciple of the Sixth Master, the Sage Hongyun.

Because Kong Xuan had previously spent some time with the Western Sect, Yun Zhongzi was familiar with him.

The two had even interacted before. But now, looking at Kong Xuan, he sensed that his cultivation had deepened considerably.

There was a feeling that I couldn't understand, and I couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

Although they all listened to the teachings of the same sage, the teachings of each sage were different.

If we're talking about the most difficult to understand and comprehend, then the Dao of the Taoist sage Laozi is the first to come to mind. That Dao of tranquility and non-action is far too subtle and profound.

As a result, the Taiqing Way, under the Daoist tradition, only had one disciple, namely the Grand Master Xuandu.

Second only to the Way of Taiqing is the Way transmitted by their Chan Sect sage, Yuanshi Tianzun.

When Yuanshi Tianzun set up the great formation, it served two purposes: firstly, to screen for aptitude and select disciples with strong talents; and secondly, to find suitable disciples for the Jade Purity Path.

However, they only found thirteen people, who are now the Twelve Golden Immortals of the Chan Sect, as well as the Daoist Ran Deng, who served as the vice leader of the sect.

Yun Zhongzi was not among the Twelve Golden Immortals. He entered the sect earlier and was of the same generation as the Antarctic Immortal.

However, he also struggled to comprehend the Dao of Jade Purity, so his cultivation speed was naturally not very fast.

There are three main paths to sainthood that are generally recognized as having the fastest cultivation speed: the first is the Shangqing Path transmitted by Tongtian Jiaozhu, the saint of the Jie Sect.

Secondly, it is the Mahayana Buddhist path transmitted by the Western Buddhist saint Zhunti.

And the third is the teachings of the two great religions, the Human Religion and the Confucianism, transmitted by the Sage Hongyun.

Whether it's the martial arts taught by the People's Education Press or the Confucianism taught by the later Confucianism, the progress in cultivation is extremely rapid.

Martial arts emphasizes courage and diligence, which goes without saying.

Confucianism and Taoism, on the other hand, cultivate a breath of the vast and righteous energy of heaven and earth. If one obtains the correct method, one's cultivation will not be slow.

Although Hongyun did not have many disciples, the two Daoist methods he spread enabled many beings to become powerful, and they all regarded Hongyun as the Martial Ancestor and the Confucian Ancestor.

At this moment, Yun Zhongzi could see from Kong Xuan that Kong Xuan had integrated both of these Daoist methods into one.

It possesses both the courage, diligence, indomitable spirit, and fearlessness of martial arts, and the indomitable spirit of Confucian and Taoist cultivation, standing tall and upright.

Of course, what was most terrifying was that Yun Zhongzi also knew that Kong Xuan was the first peacock in the world, born with great fortune.

He cultivated a powerful divine ability, which was also used by the Red Cloud Saint, called Five-Colored Divine Light.

He used to be able to vaguely find traces of this five-colored divine light on Kong Xuan's body, but now he could not detect it at all.

This all demonstrates the formidable skill Kong Xuan possesses now.

"Senior brother's cultivation level, could it be...?" Yun Zhongzi couldn't help but ask.

Kong Xuan nodded and said, "That's right. After returning to Qingjing Heaven, I combined the Confucianism and Taoism taught by my teacher and have severed the good corpse. I am now at the early stage of Quasi-Saint."

Upon hearing this, Yun Zhongzi couldn't help but feel envious.

At this moment, Kong Xuan took out a basin, which was covered with a cloth, but even so, a fragrant aroma still wafted out from it.

"My master and teacher instructed me to give you these two ginseng fruits." Kong Xuan lifted the cloth, and there were two fruits in the basin that looked like babies.

It was the ginseng fruit.

Yun Zhongzi was both surprised and delighted upon hearing this. He quickly accepted the ginseng fruit and then bowed several times in the direction of the altar where Hongyun and Zhenyuanzi had been sitting.

Kong Xuan and he were old friends. The two chatted for a while before Yun Zhongzi took his leave and departed from Qingjingtian.

His trip to Qingjing Heaven was extremely fruitful. Putting aside the two ginseng fruits, he also benefited greatly from the teachings of the two sages, Hongyun and Zhenyuanzi, and his cultivation level increased significantly.

"Ugh."

Yun Zhongzi sighed and muttered to himself, "Although the two sages' paths are excellent and their progress is extremely rapid, they are not my teachers after all. This opportunity is enough. After returning, I will go into seclusion for a while, and perhaps I will be able to sever my good corpse."
