The morning sunlight filtered through the gaps in the curtains, casting dappled shadows in the room.

Qin Ming was tidying up the storage cabinet when his fingertips brushed across the neatly arranged spirit stones, and he paused slightly. He noticed that a small section of the corner, which should have been full, was empty.

He turned to look at the chubby boy, who was slowly doing his "morning stretches" on the living room floor, his tone calm but tinged with helplessness: "Chubby, it seems like a few spirit stones are missing from my cabinet... Were you hungry last night?"

He asked the question rather tactfully, after all, his turtle had a "record".

Upon hearing this, Little Fatty stopped his morning stretching exercises, raised his round head, and a look of confusion flashed in his eyes: "Hmm?"

He subconsciously scratched his head with his front paws, trying hard to remember, because he did have a habit of having a nighttime snack in the past, and he couldn't quite remember which day it was.

There wasn't any last night, but during the last time he was on Earth... he might have, perhaps, maybe... passed by and casually mentioned it.

Little Fatty casually nibbled on his chubby left front paw. Since the house hadn't been burgled, Keda and Cangxuan would normally say something if they needed it.

After ruling out these possibilities, it could only be him, Little Fatty quickly concluded.

"Hmm, it's dried turtle."

However, a few low-level spirit stones are nothing in the eyes of the little fat boy whose internal space is constantly changing and who is no longer the same as before. He is a responsible and courageous big tortoise!

"Understood." Qin Ming nodded, his expression normal, without any hint of blame. Little Fatty was growing and had a good appetite, so he didn't restrict him.

The main reason he paid special attention was because spirit stones are somewhat special on Earth. Now that their whereabouts were confirmed, the matter was settled.

In fact, after receiving the space stone from Elder Kong, carrying and storing spirit stones was no longer a problem.

He deliberately stored it at home, intending to use the faint spiritual energy emitted by the spirit stone to improve his home environment.

If conditions permit, Qin Ming doesn't mind making his partners live more comfortably, and he doesn't want to do things that require hardship.

Now that he had matched up with Little Fatty's "confession," Qin Ming stopped thinking about it. With a thought, he took out several low-grade spirit stones of similar quality and size from his spatial stone and carefully filled the glaring gap in the cabinet.

He squinted, moving forward and backward, shifting an inch to the left and half an inch to the right, adjusting repeatedly until the area visually regained its perfect neatness and uniformity. Only then did he nod slightly in satisfaction.

Actually, tidying up the lockers was just a way for him to calm down. When he woke up early in the morning, what he was most concerned about was the calculation results on his computer.

I went to check it with great interest, only to find that the screen still only showed a fluctuating data stream, and the expected result was not generated.

Perhaps the computational workload is too great, and this old machine is struggling to keep up, hence the slow progress? Qin Ming could only guess at this, and a sense of anxious helplessness inevitably arose in his heart.

That's why I casually found some housework to do, both to pass the time while waiting and to suppress my impatience.

After finishing organizing, Qin Ming rubbed his temples as he looked at the tireless, seemingly endless scrolling code on the screen again: "When will this ever finish? There's no progress bar to indicate anything."

Or, even if there is a progress bar, it's not impossible that it might get stuck at the last 99.9% and fail to load, which would be even more frustrating.

But Qin Ming was even less willing to do the massive manual calculations himself, since even computers couldn't handle the workload.

Although he sometimes jokes that his laptop has "worked hard and deserves to retire," he knows in his heart that the machine's configuration is top-notch on the market and that it was a mobile workstation that he had put a lot of effort into acquiring.

It wasn't that he couldn't borrow more powerful computing equipment, like the roaring mainframes in official laboratories. But those machines involved too many things; they couldn't be completely disconnected from the internet and kept absolutely confidential like his own computer. Operating them was fraught with restrictions and concerns.

This is precisely why Qin Ming remained inactive despite clearly seeing the slow progress.

"Hey old buddy, get your act together!"

Qin Ming raised his hand high, then gently lowered it, patting the slightly warm laptop casing that had been running under heavy load for a while. He decided to give his "old friend" a little more time.

"Let's go out and play!"

Qin Ming turned to the spirit beasts in the room and spoke, but when his gaze met Cang Xuan's slightly surprised wolf eyes, he felt a little embarrassed, coughed lightly, and changed his words to a plausible reason.

"Ahem, go check on the progress of your respective 'intelligence networks'!"

"Caw!" Upon hearing this, Keda immediately perked up and excitedly flapped its wings.

He was a little slow in setting up the "aerial reconnaissance network" last time, and his partners were outpacing him. He had been thinking about this matter and wanted to catch up.

Cang Xuan nodded calmly, his eyes serene, clearly aware of the progress of his "forest communication network" and without any worry.

Only Little Fatty's eyes began to wander, and his paws unconsciously scratched at the ground.

He didn't really want to go. It wasn't that he didn't care about his "river intelligence network," but mainly because one of his subordinates had such a huge appetite that he felt bad about eating so much that he couldn't sleep soundly.

"Well, boss," Little Fatty began slowly, his tone sincere, "Turtle wants to sleep at home. You know how 'Turtle and Tortoise Intelligence Bureau' operates; it's very reliable! Turtle trusts his subordinates!"

"Just check remotely to see what's going on in our 'Fishing Guru Gossip Sharing Group,' and that should be enough."

Although this sounds a bit like a hands-off manager, upon closer examination, it makes perfect sense.

His intelligence network was indeed quite advanced, and his ideas were extraordinary.

Seeing the chubby boy's lazy demeanor, Qin Ming let him be: "Alright, you can watch the house then. Remember to keep an eye on the computer. If it produces a result... well, you probably won't understand it anyway, so I'll just check it when I get back."

"Hmm!" Little Fatty responded happily, as if granted a pardon. He immediately found the sunniest spot, stretched out his limbs, and lazily basked in the sun to replenish his calcium. He felt that life was perfect and peaceful, and he didn't want to move at all.

Qin Ming shook his head and led the eager Keda and the still composed Cangxuan out the door.

The room quieted down again, with only the slight hum of the computer fan and the occasional chirping of birds from outside the window.

The sunlight moved slowly, illuminating the pile of spirit stones in the storage cabinet that Qin Ming had just restored to its original appearance. There, a small corner had been quietly missing again.

Little Fatty, however, was basking in the sun, fast asleep, and didn't go over again...
