Following the guidance in the contract, Qin Ming was able to keep up even in the vast and uncertain sea.

Whether the chubby boy, preoccupied with his own thoughts, was aware of his boss following him is another matter.

He chuckled occasionally, his mind filled with fantasies of a flock of turtles following him at a single command.

Each time the scene played out in his mind, the wagging of his tail increased by two fractions of an inch.

The gathering place was a bit awkward, as it was the vortex passage that Little Fatty had destroyed.

The once rapidly swirling water has long since disappeared, leaving only a vast, empty seabed, as if someone had erased a stroke from a map.

Without the iconic vortex, the area appears exceptionally spacious and eye-catching, indeed suitable for gatherings.

However, Xiao Pang blended in seamlessly without any psychological burden. He got used to it after a while and it was practically flawless.

Seeing that the elder in charge had finished counting the tortoises and then the leader sped away, Qin Ming was able to keep up thanks to the power of Keda.

It can glide smoothly in deep water, its wings almost silently parting the currents, its body concealed in the dark water.

However, the younger generation of tortoises probably didn't notice the tail at the end. Their attention was mostly focused on the upcoming hunt, and they chatted excitedly in low voices. Occasionally, a tortoise would turn around to look, just to make sure the group hadn't gotten separated.

But the elder leading the group glanced back, his eyes flashing in the dark seawater as if he had sensed something. A knowing look crossed his eyes, but he said nothing and continued to lead the way at a leisurely pace.

An hour later, the road ahead came to a stop, and Qin Ming knew that they had arrived at their destination.

This is a group of reefs, with black rocks scattered around, casting heavy shadows on the seabed.

The ocean currents become complex here, with undercurrents of varying depths.

The turtles stopped in twos and threes around the reef, the young turtles excitedly surveying the sea ahead.

The elder casually gave a couple of instructions: "Free time, but be careful."

He then walked away, acting as if he had nothing to do with the business.

His figure traced a steady arc in the current, quickly disappearing behind the shadows of the reefs, seemingly indifferent to the outcome of the hunt.

The elder, who had been nowhere to be found, soon appeared beside Qin Ming.

He had somehow circled around to the side of Keda, silently stopping in the water, and said leisurely, "You must be the human that Kamezawa brought back?"

Qin Ming had not expected to satisfy the other party's perception, so he calmly and composedly clasped his hands in response.

Perhaps it was his composed demeanor that made a good impression, because the other party said in a friendly manner, "I am the fourth in my family, my name is Gui Si, you can just call me Uncle Si."

His voice carried a casual, elder-like quality.

Qin Ming didn't hesitate and replied, "Uncle Si."

Uncle Si narrowed his eyes, his gaze shifting from Qin Ming to the group of turtles in the distance: "Your little turtles are indeed well-cared for; you must have put a lot of care into them. I wonder what you think of the younger generation in my clan?"

Is this... a critique of the neighbor's kid?

Qin Ming quickly weighed the options in his mind.

The saying goes that genius is on the left and madness is on the right. Every genius with maxed-out defenses is always a little timid or paranoid.

But such comments should always be positive and complimentary.

Qin Ming didn't dwell on it for long and continued along his train of thought, saying, "The turtle race has extremely strong defenses and is cautious by nature, which is invaluable in the perilous seas."

Before the words were even finished, a small turtle cautiously peeked out and swam away. It wasn't moving very fast from the group, but its direction was completely different from its companions; it was swimming deeper into the reefs, as if it had discovered something interesting.

This move seemed a bit too abrupt in a group that was relatively cautious and mostly stayed put.

Qin Ming's words of praise caught in his throat, he hesitated for half a second, then changed the subject and said, "But every turtle has its own nature, and those that are lively and bold are a gift from heaven."

Having finally managed to balance both sides, Qin Ming decided not to say anything more. He knew that too much commentary would only lead to more mistakes, and he preferred to stop there.

Uncle Si smiled knowingly: "You're absolutely right."

He didn't elaborate further, but his gaze remained fixed on the reefs, as if he were waiting for something.

Before Qin Ming could figure out exactly what was so "wonderful" about it, the little turtle that was always the most curious and quickest to move around returned.

To be precise, they fled back.

He was many times faster than when he left, his limbs were paddling so fast they were almost blurry, and his entire body exuded a panicked, desperate energy.

Behind him followed a string of giant crabs, each the size of a cartwheel, with thick claws and a cold, iron-blue carapace, angrily waving their enormous pincers.

They followed closely behind the little turtle, wondering what it had done to attract such strong hatred!

The giant crabs waved their massive pincers, gripping the watermarks behind him tightly, none of them turning back halfway.

Thus, the giant crabs, blinded by anger, found themselves surrounded by the turtles.

The young turtles, who had been scattered around the reef, spontaneously gathered into an arc-shaped encirclement in just a few breaths, catching the large crabs that were chasing them.

In an instant, their positions reversed.

With their numerical advantage and natural defensive capabilities, the turtles quickly divided, suppressed, and defeated the pursuing giant crabs one by one.

Besides the coordination among the turtles, Qin Ming keenly noticed that the lively and bold little turtle was exceptionally talented in defense and evasion.

Despite being a prime target for the giant crab, it skillfully evaded most of the attacks by maneuvering.

Even those that were unavoidable only landed on less important areas, and were then blocked by layers of thick carapace and calluses.

This is an outstanding record among his peers who all possess maxed-out defensive talents.

Looking at him now, enjoying his meal with gusto, it's hard to imagine that just half an hour ago he was in a state of panic.

Is this what a battle-hardened, powerful heart looks like?

Qin Ming silently withdrew his gaze and looked at Uncle Si beside him.

The elder watched all of this with a leisurely air, as if he were watching a wonderful performance, neither surprised nor intending to interfere.

Qin Ming hesitated for a moment, but couldn't help asking, "Turtle swarms... the division of labor is so clear now? There are even swarms specifically tasked with pulling monsters?"

Uncle Si turned to look at him, his gaze carrying an indescribable meaning: "Among the same type of sea beast, the stronger the meat, the more delicious it is, the more energy it contains, and the better the effect of consuming it."

"As for the lively and gluttonous one, that's just its nature, but fortunately, it has also developed the ability to dodge and defend itself."

Qin Ming: "..."

Amidst his exclamations, Little Fatty sent an extremely excited telepathic message: "Boss, Turtle has grasped the essence!"

Qin Ming: !?
