People in America: My Uncle Don Quixote
Chapter 110 Adulthood, Boys and Girls, Men and Women
Chapter 110 Adulthood, Boys and Girls, Men and Women (Paying Off Debts 6/10, Requesting Monthly Tickets)
At 2 p.m., Don Quixote was driving his beat-up Toyota, which made noise everywhere except for the horn.
When he passed by a luxury car showroom on Long Island, he suddenly remembered the parking problem in New York.
"The Escalade is big, but it's not easy to park," he thought to himself. "Besides, it's not cool for a young guy to drive a car like that; it always gives the impression of him being a chauffeur."
Don Quixote turned the steering wheel and went inside.
The store was deserted. When Tangjihede pushed open the door, there were only two sales staff chatting at the front desk.
Although Don Quixote didn't look like a wealthy man, the two salespeople still showed a professional attitude and enthusiastically introduced him to the products.
"Take a look around, sir," one of the salesmen said. "These are sports cars over here, and SUVs and S-Class cars over there."
UV.
"
Don Quixote scanned the exhibition hall and his gaze fell on a bright yellow Lamborghini Huracan.
"How much would this car cost after taxes and fees?" Don Quixote asked, pointing to it.
"Sir, this is a Lamborghini Huracan," the salesperson chuckled. "With options, it will cost $30."
"I'm buying it for my nephew," Don Quixote said. "He's a rugby player, quite muscular; would this suit him?"
After listening, the salesperson politely shook his head: "If this car is for you to drive around in, or as a gift for a lady—no, a slim person—it's the best choice. But if it's for a professional athlete, the space in this car is rather cramped."
"And what about Ferrari?" Don Quixote continued. "How's Ferrari doing? What models are they making now?"
John Mara gave Levi a Cadillac Escalade, but he was already thinking about giving Levi an even more expensive and better car.
"A Ferrari isn't ideal either," the salesperson said, frowning after a moment's thought. "Especially since Ferrari's stiff suspension isn't really suitable for athletes' daily driving. If your nephew is a veteran NFL player and is buying a car just for collection and fun, then I'd suggest a Ferrari. But if he's just starting out in the professional league, it would be better to buy a car that's both practical for daily driving and eye-catching..."
As he spoke, the salesperson's eyes lit up, and he punched his palm.
"I've got it," he said. "Come with me."
He led Don Quixote to the other side of the exhibition hall, pointed to a silver-white Porsche with a carbon fiber roof and a rear wing, and said, "If you're looking for a sports car for an athlete, this 911 Carrera S is the best choice."
How could any man not love a Porsche 911?
Don Quixote took a liking to the carriage at first sight.
"A 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged horizontally opposed 6-cylinder engine, producing a maximum of 450 horsepower," the salesperson enthusiastically stated. "An 8-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 3.5 seconds, and more importantly..."
"This car has 18-way adjustable seats," he said with a smile, "making it one of the few sports cars suitable for tall athletes to drive daily."
"Very good," Don Quixote nodded, "that's it."
"No problem, sir. Your eye is excellent," the salesperson's smile grew even more sincere, and he quickly led Don Quixote into the office next door. "Let's sit down and talk about the details."
Don Quixote sat in the leather chair and suddenly began to reminisce about his past.
The last time I bought a car at a dealership of this caliber, it was probably my favorite Mercedes-Benz S450...
Before long, a long, printed price list was pushed in front of him.
"This is the detailed configuration list and final price for the car you just looked at." The salesperson picked up a pen and circled some numbers.
裸车价13万1300美金,GT银的金属漆840美金、20寸锻造轮毂2540美金、真皮内饰4530美金、BOSE音响、运动套件、调节座椅、排气、尾翼、纽约州税等等零零总总加起来超过了18万5000美金。
"I have no problem with the price of the optional extras," Don Quixote examined them carefully, "but this 15,000..."
What does the market regulation fee in US dollars mean?
"Sir, you know the current market situation," the salesman said, looking troubled, but he had clearly memorized the sales pitch perfectly. "The 911 is in very short supply right now, especially the high-spec version with a car in stock. That's the market situation here in Long Island. The dealership next door is even charging an extra $2."
"Don't try to fool me into thinking this is my first time buying a nice car," Don Quixote said, unmoved by his sales pitch. "The MSRP is $153,700. Add the 8.625% tax in New York State, and then the paperwork fee I have to give you, and the reasonable on-the-road price for this car is around $168,000. I won't make things difficult for you; it'll be $169,000. The extra $1,000 is on me—it's like buying you coffee. If you can do it, swipe your card now; if not, I'm out."
Sales stalled; 169,000 was not a price he had expected.
"Sir, this—this is really too difficult," the salesperson said with a pained expression. "You know the current market conditions, 11..."
There's no worry about selling them. You've hit the nail on the head. By the way, you said earlier that this car was a gift for your nephew? May I ask, who exactly is your nephew?
“My nephew is still in high school,” Don Quixote thought for a moment. “You may not have heard of his name; it’s Livy.”
"Lee Wei?" The salesperson jumped to his feet. "That genius quarterback Lee Wei? Are you kidding me!"
Of course I know him!
Don Quixote raised an eyebrow noncommittally.
"Ahem... If it really is Mr. Li Wei... then the situation is a bit different," the salesperson stood up, straightened his suit, and said, "Sir, I really don't have the authority to set this price. Please wait a moment while I go to the office to call the boss and ask for his approval."
Before leaving, he thoughtfully served Don Quixote a cup of coffee, then took the price list and hurried to the rest area at the back.
Don Quixote watched the salesman's retreating figure, knowing perfectly well that he had gone to the back door to smoke.
He peered out and, sure enough, through the reflection in the glass on the side of the exhibition hall, Don Quixote could vaguely see the salesman standing at the entrance of the back alley, next to a snowdrift, smoking a cigarette and gesturing to his colleague, occasionally making a gesture of lifting a ball high in the air, without holding a phone at all.
Five minutes later, the salesperson returned, his face flushed, still smelling mostly of tobacco.
"Did he go to the back door to ask the boss for permission?" Don Quixote asked. "And how did it go?"
"It was a bit hot, so I went out for some fresh air," the salesperson said. "Sir, I practically begged the boss, who's also a football fan. When he heard it was for Levi, he went all out! He said that since he's a future star, our dealership has to befriend him!"
"Alright," Don Quixote pulled out his bank card, holding it between two fingers, "Stop acting, just state your terms."
The salesperson chuckled and rubbed his hands together.
"The price is as you said, 169,000, not a penny more. But the boss has a small personal request," the salesman pushed a pen and paper in front of Don Quixote, "After Mr. Levy gets the car, could you please ask him to sign it? I want the kind with a 'to' signature."
"To sign" means that the blessing must be given by name, not just a signed photo with your own name.
"...Alright," Don Quixote pondered for a moment, "What exactly do you want me to write?"
"Write 'To Eisen David, wishing you happiness every day,'" the salesperson said. "That's what the boss said."
Don Quixote glanced at the salesperson's name tag.
Eisen David.
When Don Quixote returned home, Livy was driving back in his Cadillac Escalade.
He had just delivered some essential supplies to Arthur, who lived in the tunnel. It wasn't just the dry socks and batteries he had requested, but also some baby wipes and band-aids, all for a little over $50.
He wasn't thinking about changing anyone's fate. He wasn't a pushover, but since he had seen the situation, he wanted to help if he could without affecting himself.
"What's wrong?" Li Wei asked Don Quixote with a smug look on his face. "Is there some good news?"
"Nothing much?" Don Quixote shook his head. "By the way, your 18th birthday is this weekend. What are your plans?"
"Anya and I are going out to eat," Li Wei said. "What's wrong, Uncle? Is there anything you need me to do?"
"It's nothing," Don Quixote patted him on the shoulder, "just wishing you a happy birthday in advance."
Li Wei was a little confused. "Thank you," he said.
He soon found out why.
The next morning, Li Wei was awakened by the ringing of the telephone at the door.
"Nephew, come out and see," Don Quixote's voice came through the phone. "Are you still sleeping?"
'
"What's going on?" Li Wei asked, somewhat confused. "Couldn't you have just knocked on my door?"
"Enough of that," said Don Quixote. "Look out the window."
Li Wei jumped out of bed, walked to the window, and looked closely—
A brand-new silver GT 911 was parked in front of the house. Don Quixote stood beside the car, looking smugly at Livy, who was looking up at the second floor.
"I know you bought a 911," Levi said. "Congratulations, Uncle. You really should replace that beat-up Toyota of yours."
"That's my old buddy that's been with me for over 10 years. It's not time for it to be retired yet," Don Quixote smiled. "This chariot is for you."
Li Wei was stunned.
"Happy 18th birthday in advance, nephew. I won't disturb your weekend with Anya," Don Quixote paused, "and I love you, child."
"That's a bit too formal," Li Wei paused, "Thank you, Uncle, I like it very much."
"Enough of this talk," Don Quixote said with a smile. "Come on down and test drive your new car. I earned 15 for your signing fee, and I only spent 17 on this car. How about that, is that fair?"
"That's really kind of you," Li Wei said while putting on his clothes. "You didn't agree to any weird conditions, did you?"
"I need an autographed photo of you," Don Quixote said. "Is that alright?"
"What photos?" Li Wei came downstairs. "Nude photos are not allowed. I'm making that clear first."
A few days later, in the restaurant of the Aman Club in Manhattan.
Anya gently touched Li Wei's knee under the tablecloth.
The candlelight in the restaurant subtly aroused her desire.
She suddenly realized that the last time she came to this club's restaurant was when her father flew to New York.
"What would Dad think if he knew what we were planning after dinner?" she wondered, feeling a little dizzy. She and Levi clinked glasses again, and she took a big gulp of champagne.
One good thing about restaurants in private clubs is that no one will refuse to serve her drinks because of her age.
As Li Wei was looking at the menu, he felt Anya's foot touching his calf—she was intentionally or unintentionally gently rubbing Li Wei's calf and knee.
"What do you want to eat?" Li Wei looked up at Anya. "I want steak."
He didn't want to go through a lot of trouble ordering food; he just hoped dinner would end soon.
"Me too," Anya said, closing the menu after only a few glances. "Steak."
She wasn't planning on eating much, at least not tonight; the lesson from last time was still fresh in her mind. She didn't even care what she ate that night—steak, muscle, or even someone's brain—tonight, she was finally saying goodbye to her teenage years!
Today she was wearing a top that showed off her collarbones and shoulder blades, and very rebelliously paired it with tight leather pants that clung to her hips. In this restaurant, she was absolutely the most dazzling and beautiful one, and even she knew it.
Their steaks finally arrived.
Li Wei absentmindedly finished cutting his steak, and ate his birthday meal with Anya, who was equally absent-minded but whose heart was pounding. Then the two of them went into the elevator together.
Anya was already feeling a little dizzy. Knowing what was about to happen, she felt her limbs were weak and she could hardly stand.
In the elevator, she couldn't help but lean against Li Wei, wrapping her arms around his waist. Maybe she did it on purpose, who cares.
She could clearly feel the warm heat emanating from Li Wei, like the sun. When she put her ear close to his chest, she could even feel his heartbeat, slow but powerful, making her feel dizzy and mesmerized.
Li Wei gently put one arm around Anya's waist. He could feel that almost half of Anya's petite body was hanging on him, but he still felt as light as a feather.
He looked down at Anya and found that Anya was also looking at him with a flushed face.
He lowered his head and kissed her, and Anya responded enthusiastically, jumping up and wrapping her long legs around Li Wei's waist.
Their elevator goes directly to the Aman's penthouse suite, overlooking the Manhattan skyline at night, but unfortunately all the curtains were already drawn.
When they entered the room, everything was arranged exactly as Anya had imagined. The floor was covered with flower petals, and the entire floor was filled with Li Wei's playlists.
"Wait for me," Anya jumped off Li Wei, hurriedly grabbed her handbag, and went into the master bathroom. "I'm going to take a shower first."
She started taking off her clothes and piled them all on the bathroom floor.
After taking a shower, she started spraying perfume on herself and began counting down in her mind. In those three seconds, a short story was already playing in her mind, imagining the incredible night she had spent with Li Weidu.
She opened her eyes and ran the comb through her hair again, checking her reflection in the mirror over and over. "If only my breasts were a little bigger," she thought.
However, she was very satisfied with her slim waist and perky buttocks; her waist was only 57 centimeters, but her hips were 95 centimeters.
Centimeters, plus her years of exercise have given her a beautiful hourglass figure, but who cares, it's already pretty good.
She opened the bathroom door.
Li Wei looked at Anya and felt completely captivated. He took her hand, lifted her up, and had her straddle him. They began to kiss.
Anya tried to lower her shoulders and stretch her neck as much as possible, so that she could feel her slender figure even more in Li Wei's arms.
"Maybe my butt is a little too big?" she thought somewhat embarrassedly, but then she quickly put it out of her mind.
Li Wei's elbow accidentally poked her ribs. Anya looked up and lunged at Li Wei, trying to bite him on the shoulder and leave an O-shaped tooth mark on his skin.
Perhaps they had been kissing for five minutes, perhaps they had been kissing for an eternity, until Anya felt she was ready, when she suddenly found her voice trembling: "Turn...turn off the light," she said, feeling her face burning, all the blood rushing to her face, "Don't look at me..."
"You are beautiful," Li Wei said. "I want to see you."
He didn't completely comply with her wish to turn off the light. He simply reached out and gently turned the knob on the bedside table, instantly softening the bright light into a warm, ambiguous orange hue. But the light was still enough for him to clearly see every inch of Anya's blushing face and her eyelashes trembling slightly with nervousness.
Anya felt her heart was about to leap out of her throat; the complex mix of extreme shame and intense desire made it hard for her to breathe. Instead of insisting on turning off the light, she buried her face in Li Wei's neck, trying to hide the burning heat on her face like an ostrich.
"Then you—you're not allowed to laugh at me," her muffled voice came through, "and you're not allowed to think I'm stupid."
"How could I?" Li Wei chuckled, feeling the girl in his arms taut like a fully drawn bow.
He kissed Anya's forehead and the tip of her nose with extreme tenderness, finally landing on her slightly parted red lips.
A moment of great harmony in life...
More than 10 minutes later, it was as if an electric current passed through her, leaving Anya's mind blank, with only Li Wei's name echoing in her mind. She gripped Li Wei's back tightly, her ten fingernails almost digging into his flesh.
However, Li Wei did not stop, and did not even give her a chance to think. A few minutes later, another electric current came.
After an unknown amount of time, the air in the room became thick and warm, mixed with the scent of sweat and the base notes of perfume.
"Are you still alive?" After a long while, Li Wei's deep voice came from above, carrying a hint of satiated laziness and a smile.
"Shut up," Anya weakly punched his chest, her voice hoarse. "6"
I want to drink water.
