Chapter 366 The Challenge to Li Wei

Chapter 366 The Challenge to Li Wei (Seeking Monthly Tickets)

"Director!" Levi chased after him, "Director Del Toro!"

He quickly crossed the filming area and caught up with Del Toro at the entrance to the main creative team's lounge.

Guillermo del Toro was chatting with his assistant, discussing the plot they had just witnessed. Hearing Levi call him, he turned around: "What is it?"

"Regarding our casting issue," Li Wei cut to the chase, "Have you started recruiting? When will you start?"

Upon hearing this, Del Toro gave his assistant a wink, who understood and left first.

The two entered the lounge, and Del Toro poured himself a glass of water and leaned against the table.

"You found out too?" he asked.

"My staff discovered this," Levi said, sitting down on the sofa. "I contacted the commissioner of the Los Angeles Police Department, and I looked at the files. More than 15 people from our crew were involved, including Cuth Bane, the actor who played the sorcerer."

Del Toro nodded, looking somewhat annoyed.

"They had already finished filming," he said. "His first take was already done, and now this has happened."

""

"Even if he's innocent and gets bailed out, once he gets back," Li Wei said, "we can't use him anymore."

"Of course," Del Toro rubbed his temples. "Originally, the main characters were supposed to defeat the ogres, then find the elven mage, and the four of them would set off together to search for the dragon's tracks. Now that he's gone, all the previous scenes have to be reshot!"

Levi was just as anxious as Del Toro, because it wasn't just Del Toro's filming schedule that was stuck there.

His task is stuck here too!

If the actor is gone, his mission cannot be triggered.

The thief and the knight commander are already in place; they are just waiting for the mage.

The mage can't get there, the quest is stuck, and we can't move forward.

"The crew is now hiring more people," Del Toro sighed. "The casting director is already contacting new candidates, and recruitment will begin soon."

"How fast?" Li Wei asked.

"One to two weeks," Del Toro thought for a moment. "Now that this has happened to our crew, many actors are hesitant, and we also need to recruit more people... In short, it will take time."

One to two weeks.

Li Wei sighed; it seemed that all he could do now was wait.

Although he is efficient and fast, he cannot handle everything.

After leaving the lounge, Li Wei stood in the corridor, his hands in his jeans pockets, looking up at the metal supports on the ceiling, lost in thought.

Jason Miller also came over, and seeing his boss looking up at the ceiling, he couldn't help but follow him.

They stood side by side, both looking up at the ceiling.

Analyst Patrick saw Jason and Levi standing together, so he walked over to Jason's side and looked up at the ceiling with them.

When Li Wei came to his senses, he turned around and found that there were at least four or five people standing next to him.

"What are you doing?" Li Weiqi asked.

"I don't know," Jason Miller said. "What are you looking at, boss?"

"I'm looking at the task panel," Li Wei thought to himself. "Do you guys have it too?"

"Nothing, I was just thinking about something," he said. "By the way, has anyone seen the actor playing the Royal Knight Commander?"

Li Wei noticed something interesting while looking at the task panel.

According to the system's assessment, the Royal Knight Commander is a Gold-level Knight!

Moreover, he was a gold-level knight, a whole level higher than Li Wei in rank.

In other words, under the right triggering conditions, this royal knight commander might actually be able to "teach" him something special.

Worth a try.

Li Wei found out the actor's location and went to find him.

He walked back into the shed and saw a figure taking off his armor next to a row of makeshift changing areas.

He was a relatively unknown fifth-tier actor, unlike actors like Levi and Johnny Depp who command tens of millions in salary. The Knight Commander's salary was only $300,000.

"Do you need any help?" Li Wei walked over.

The actor playing the Knight Commander looked up and saw Li Wei, almost jumping off his stool.

He instinctively tried to stand up, but his leg armor jammed his movement, and he sat down again as soon as he stood up.

"I'll help you," Li Wei said with a smile, walking up behind him. "All done."

"Thank you, Mr. Levi," the actor playing the knight commander said excitedly. "Is there anything I can do for you?"

"Hmm..." Li Wei chuckled. "You actually have. Did you write a character biography for the Knight Commander?"

"A character biography?" The actor playing the knight commander was taken aback. "Yes, I made one."

Li Wei's eyes lit up: "Let me see?"

The actor playing the Knight Commander looked a little nervous, like a student about to hand in homework.

He had also heard that Levi's acting skills were enough to teach Depp, which made him feel like he was back in acting class being checked on by the teacher.

He took a backpack out of his locker, pulled out a notebook from it, and handed it to Li Wei.

"Did you do this yourself or with the screenwriter?" Li Wei flipped through it, finding no valuable skills to learn.

It only contains the growth experience and personality of the Knight Commander character.

"I did it myself," the actor playing the knight commander said cautiously. "Wasn't it too simple?"

"It's well written," Li Wei said, "but not enough. For example... if we were to adapt this character into a game, what skills do you think a royal knight commander would possess? What special abilities would he have? What do you think?"

He looked the other person in the eye. "Could you get the scriptwriting team to redo the character biography?"

The actor playing the knight commander blinked, hesitated for a few seconds, and then slowly nodded.

"I understand," he said. "I'll do it in a bit."

"Okay," Li Wei nodded in satisfaction, "Go ahead, after you're done I can go over the lines with you and help you practice."

The actor paused for a moment, then said, "I'll go now." He quickened his pace.

"Go ahead, go ahead," Li Wei nodded in satisfaction.

A good system is one where you simply ask the system for new skills.

At noon, Li Wei arrived at the food and beverage area.

The food truck was serving burritos and roast chicken today. Levi took a burrito and two roast chicken legs and had just sat down at the long table when he saw Jason Miller walk over with a plate of fried rice.

The gauze on his head had been changed several times, but it was still wrapped up like a white rice ball.

"Sit down," Li Wei gestured to the seat opposite him. "Does your head still hurt? How are you feeling?"

"Much better," Jason sat down and scooped up a spoonful of rice with his spoon. He wasn't very good at using chopsticks yet. "The doctor said the bandages can be removed in a couple of days."

"Be a little careful," Levi reminded him. "You have cuts on your hands too. If you can't take it, rest for a few more days. Patrick can work too, can't he?"

“Patrick is, after all, an analyst at an outsourced auditing firm,” Jason chuckled. “I’m not worried about him slacking off.”

"Is there anything I can help you with?" Li Wei asked after thinking for a moment.

"No need, Mr. Levi," Jason scooped up another spoonful of rice. "He was a bit disobedient before, but now..."

""

He pointed to the injuries on his head and hands, "Now the whole crew knows I'm a workaholic, so he won't dare to slack off with me anymore."

"That's good," Li Wei smiled, stuffing the last bite of the burrito into his mouth. "Let me know anytime if anything happens."

"Don't worry, Mr. Levi." Jason Miller nodded.

Another week has passed in the blink of an eye.

The last Saturday of April was sunny and clear in Los Angeles, as usual.

Griffith Park, a vast urban park spanning over 4000 acres, was requisitioned by the Los Angeles Police Department today, with nearly half of it occupied.

From the park’s main entrance, all the way to the mountain road below Griffith Observatory, blue and white LAPD flags flutter in the wind. Every 50 meters there is a water station with LW energy drinks neatly arranged on the table, and the bottles are printed with the special logo for the fallen officers’ memorial week.

"Okay, I understand..." Li Wei hung up the phone. "It's okay, we'll schedule another time next week."

"What's wrong?" Police Chief Robert Flynn asked. "What happened?"

"It's nothing," Li Wei shook his head. "I had arranged to have dinner with the editor-in-chief of The New York Times, but he hasn't returned from Europe yet, so it's been rescheduled for next week."

Robert Flynn nodded. "Come on, let's take a picture together."

Li Wei attended as a sponsor. After a simple opening ceremony, a representative of the family of the fallen police officer gave a speech, and the entire audience observed a moment of silence.

Afterwards, the atmosphere gradually shifted from solemn to relaxed.

As is customary, before the formal long-distance running session begins, there will be some fun warm-up competitions—push-ups, pull-ups, bench presses, arm wrestling, short-distance sprints, and so on.

Similar to physical fitness competitions in police stations and the military, only the atmosphere is more relaxed.

Some areas of the park were designated as arena zones, and each zone was surrounded by a large group of police officers watching the spectacle.

A black man, whose physique rivals that of Schwarzenegger, is doing warm-up exercises.

"Who's that?" Levi turned to Flynn beside him and asked.

"That's our LAPD SWAT team champion," Robert Flynn glanced at him, "the number one police officer in the nation for five consecutive years."

As Robert Flynn introduced the champion, who had just defeated three challengers in a row in an arm-wrestling match, it drew cheers from the surrounding crowd.

He stood in the middle of the grass, arms outstretched, as if accepting the worship of his colleagues.

"Who else?" he laughed loudly. "Is there anyone who can challenge me today?"

A commotion arose from the crowd.

The Black SWAT officer looked around and suddenly his eyes met Li Wei's.

"Mr. Levi!" he called out, "Come down, let's play together!"

"After all, you're the best player in the NFL, the Super Bowl MVP, and the greatest quarterback in history!" he exclaimed.

"No thanks," Li Wei said, taking the microphone and smiling as he declined. "I'm afraid you'll embarrass yourself or get hurt."

The more than 10,000 people at the scene burst into laughter.

The Black SWAT officer felt his dark skin burning up. He yelled, "Come on, Levi, let's see the intensity of the NFL!"

Seeing his persistent attitude, Li Wei raised an eyebrow.

Before he could speak, the system panel popped up again:

You have encountered the mission: The Provocation of the Forbidden Army Captain.

The captain of the royal guard has challenged you. As a knight, how will you face his challenge?

[Option A: Refuse. How can a mere guard contend with a knight? (Gain 0.1 free attribute point.)]

Option B: Accept. Since he wants to humiliate himself, we can only grant his wish and gain 0.1 free attribute points.

Since you want to humiliate yourself, then...

Li Wei put down the microphone, jumped off the raised platform, and walked towards the arena amidst cheers from the crowd.
