Chapter 412 Li Weiying's Fame Spreads Widely

Chapter 412 Li Weiying's Fame Spreads Far and Wide (Seeking Monthly Tickets)

"Anya! You're here!"

The woman who stopped her was a young socialite named Gloria. Her father owned a sizable mining group in Latin America and knew Anya's father, Sergei.

"I thought you were still in Paris," Gloria said, linking her arm with Anya's. "Why are you back so soon?"

"You know that, don't you?" Anya walked side by side with her toward a small round table, complaining, "Paris summers are hell, the streets are smelly and stinky, and there are so many tourists."

"That's why I love New York," Gloria said, her signature wide grin spreading across her face in a mesmerizing way. "Everyone loves New York."

“That’s because you never go anywhere outside the Upper East Side,” Anya said. “Honey, you only need to go to Brooklyn, Queens, or even just drive through the Bronx and you’ll know that New York is a place where heaven and hell coexist.”

Unlike Gloria, although she didn't hesitate to spend money, she actually did on-site research and knew what it was like there.

They walked through the talking crowd toward their own small group.

"Why would I go there if I have nothing better to do?" Gloria waved her hand dismissively. "Dad told me that the people there are very dangerous and the crime rate is very high."

She glanced at Anya and said affectionately, "Anya, aren't you still living in Riverdale? Why don't you buy one on the Upper East Side, closer to me, so we can go out together?"

Anya maintained her smile and politely replied, "I'm still looking. I haven't come across any particularly nice houses lately."

"How about buying 57th Street?" Gloria said casually. "Billionaire Street. I've been pestering my dad to buy me a One57, but he keeps refusing."

"One57? The Chopstick Building, which is said to be the world's most expensive luxury residence?" Anya glanced back at the skyscraper that resembled chopsticks, shook her head, and said, "No way, it's just a gimmick. Living there would be a lot of trouble."

"I'm not staying here," Gloria said with a grin. "I just want to."

"That doesn't mean anything," Anya said casually. "I don't want to ask my dad for money anymore."

"Why?" Gloria asked with concern. "Is Uncle Sergei having financial problems?"

"No, that's not it," Anya said. "I just received over 20 billion in trust funds recently, so I feel a little embarrassed to ask him for more money."

"..." Gloria was speechless after Anya's retort, and said quietly, "That's not funny."

Anya's eyes crinkled with amusement as she said, "If I really want to buy, I'd like to buy a house on the Gold Coast. Liz, oh no, I have a... best friend who recently moved there."

Manhattan's "Gold Coast" specifically refers to the area from 59th to 96th Street on Fifth Avenue. A century ago, Rockefellers, Carnegies, and others built palatial mansions here, representing the center of America and unparalleled luxury.

However, most of them have now been converted into museums, with only a very small number preserved in the form of cooperative apartments or detached houses.

"You can't buy a house over there. You mean Elizabeth Mellon, right?" Gloria pulled Anya down to sit. "I heard about it. It's unbelievable. She's one of the most sought-after people right now. I can't even imagine how charming and capable she is."

Anya recalled Elizabeth's shy, swallowing descriptions of her relationship with Levi, and then listened to Gloria's unreserved expression of her longing for her, finding it all quite amusing.

Besides the two women, there were several older women at the small gathering. They, or their husbands, all knew Sergei or had some kind of relationship with him.

"Who moved into the Gold Coast?" a middle-aged woman asked. "So powerful?"

Her tone was full of envy and longing.

Anya knew her too; she was the daughter of the founder of a hedge fund in New York and dreamed of squeezing into New York's high society. She was also one of the most enthusiastic people about such activities.

“Elizabeth Mellon, Anya’s best friend,” Gloria plopped down next to her, squeezing in slightly, “recently became the chair of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and she’s only 20 years old.”

“That’s not surprising,” another middle-aged woman with red hair interjected. “My husband is from the Vanderbilt family, right? When he was telling me about their family history, he mentioned that they sold 660 Fifth Avenue. Later, due to urbanization, mansions like those of Duke and Carnegie were demolished, and the Mellon family was one of the few families that managed to keep their mansion.”

"Are you close to Anya?" the first middle-aged woman asked. "Could you introduce us to her?"

"That's great, so great that we're sharing the same stick," Anya thought.

"Not bad," Anya mumbled.

"Sigh, I wonder if my grandson's generation will be qualified to move to the Gold Coast," the middle-aged woman mused.

"What are you thinking? Unless you can integrate into their family."

"If this thing isn't present at birth, it's basically gone forever."

"But don't worry too much," Gloria comforted her. "Old money doesn't mean forever. Look at Duke, Vanderbilt... they've all become just ordinary people now."

"Then why don't you mention that Mellon, Rockefeller, and DuPont are still doing very well?"

The two became more and more excited as they talked.

"Alright, stop arguing," Anya quickly intervened, seeing things were about to escalate. "Let's talk about something else. Why are you two so angry today?"

"Didn't you know?" Gloria stirred her mojito in her glass and said, "Didn't the cosmetic clinic that Sofia went to close down?"

“I know,” Anya said. “I’ve been there too.”

"My personal doctor said that if I want to be safe, I should have everything on my face melted away," the middle-aged woman named Sophia said irritably. "How can I not be furious?"

Anya didn't know what to say. If all the injections on her face melted away, her whole face would collapse.

She made an excuse to take a sip of champagne to cover up her embarrassment.

Although she was under the legal drinking age, nobody here cared.

Gloria suddenly leaned closer and stared at Anya's face for several seconds.

"Anya," she said, "you recently got some cosmetic procedures done without inviting your sister? What did you have done?"

"What did you do?" Anya was a little confused by her stare.

"She has a man," Sofia said, half envious and half teasing, "and a rugby player at that. He's so handsome and rich, he must sweat a lot every night. No wonder his skin is bad."

“I have men too,” Gloria said, “so why don’t I have skin as good as hers?”

"Maybe it's because your man is impotent," another middle-aged woman said with a chuckle.

"Seriously, how old is Levi?" Gloria retorted. "I really don't believe there's nothing wrong with him."

Anya thought for a moment, then took Gloria's hand and wrapped her thumb and middle finger around Gloria's wrist.

"It's so thick," she said casually. "Where's your husband, Seth?"

Gloria opened her mouth, gestured with her wrist, and cursed in Spanish, "Damn it, I accept that Levi cheated on me."

The other middle-aged women also expressed their envy, jealousy, and resentment towards Anya. In her pride, Anya went on to praise Li Wei to the skies, exaggerating his abilities.

Li Wei was lying at home when he suddenly saw a reward inexplicably appear on the task panel in front of him:

Your fame circulates among the nobles, and your bravery is known throughout the world.

You have exemplified the virtues of chivalry: courage.

You have gained 0.1 free attribute points.

Li Wei: ?

What did I do?

He sat up from the sofa and looked around. Don Quixote had gone to work, Lily had gone out to play, and he was lying at home. How did he end up gaining attribute points?

Who has spread his good name?

"However," Anya said after thinking for a moment, "my skin has indeed improved recently."

“Exactly,” Gloria said, “your powder doesn’t cake at all today.”

Anya said "Oh," and added, "It might be something I've been drinking recently."

"What are you drinking?" the three asked in unison.

"What is it?" Sofia asked. "Did you secretly find some good stuff without your sisters knowing?"

Anya thought for a moment and then called Li Wei.

"Darling," she said, "can I tell you about the drink you gave me?"

"Go ahead and say it," Li Wei said instinctively, "Wait, were you guys just talking about me? What were you talking about?"

"I'm not telling you," Anya said with a grin. "Alright, you can play now, I have something to do."

After hanging up the phone, Anya said, "It's a new product that Levi's company is developing. It hasn't been released yet, and I'm just testing it internally."

"LW?" Sophia pressed. "Sports drinks are pretty good; I drink them every day when I work out. They're low in calories. But they also make skincare products?"

"It's not a skincare product, it's something you take orally," Anya explained. "Just drink a small bottle every day."

Gloria, who was close to her, pressed, "Is there any more of this? Could you get me some so I can try it too?"

"Yes, Anya," Sofia added, "We can't forget our sisters when we get something good."

Seeing this, Anya slowly took a sip of her champagne.

"Let me ask," she said calmly, "but he told me that current production capacity is limited and it may not be available for sale to the public."

After the social gathering ended, Anya walked to her car, where Katya was waiting.

"Anya!" Sophia called out to her, quickly walking over. "Um... it's like this, is the product Levi made really effective?"

"I can only say that I believe in him, and I have indeed seen the results," Anya said, looking at her expression, and asked directly, "Sister Sophia, what exactly are you trying to say?"
