The night was deep, and the firelight flickered.

Su Wei's body tensed instantly. He grabbed the Browning rifle and moved silently to the cave entrance, peering out through the gap in the windbreak wall.

The snow under the moonlight shimmered with a cool, white glow.

At first, Soviet Union saw nothing.

But the sound didn't disappear; instead, it grew closer and closer.
