Orochimaru travels to Hogwarts
Chapter 105 Thank Goodness for You, Harry
Chapter 105 Thank Goodness for You, Harry
Orochimaru's request was very specific, and every Slytherin heard it clearly.
They looked at each other, but did not ask for the specific reason.
After all, everyone can guess the general idea.
Before enrolling in the academy, Slack had been close friends with Harry Potter, and the two knew each other very well.
He didn't want to see Harry at the Quidditch match, either because he couldn't bring himself to harm his old friend and defeat Harry Potter.
Or the situation is worse—
Harry Potter was a boy with a great talent for Quidditch, especially for the Seeker.
Regardless of the reason, the answer is the same.
"Don't worry, Slytherin," Marcus assured Orochimaru. "This matter concerns the honor of the entire Slytherin House, and everyone will cooperate with you."
"We will never let Harry Potter join the Quidditch team or step onto the field."
Orochimaru nodded in satisfaction and turned to leave.
Marcus rushed forward.
"Slack, you'll need to practice with us a bit more. Quidditch is a team sport."
"But as far as I know, the Seeker is someone who's outside the team, isn't he?" Orochimaru turned to look at Marcus, who was looking anxious. "You just need to tell me when we're supposed to catch the Golden Snitch."
After Orochimaru finished speaking, Marcus immediately felt helpless.
After much deliberation, he took out a Slytherin Quidditch tactics manual from his pocket and solemnly handed it to Orochimaru.
"Make sure you thoroughly understand the tactical hand signals above, and observe the game situation and score. When the game actually starts, we might not be able to focus on you."
Marcus spoke quickly and urgently, which Orochimaru found somewhat amusing.
Although he has been in this world for half a year, he still hasn't separated himself from the ninja world of his previous life.
Some things that seem insignificant to him are of great importance to the students of Hogwarts, even those who are Slytherin.
"That's it for today. After practice, I'll go do my own thing."
Orochimaru accepted the tactics manual and waved to the first-year students watching behind him.
The group immediately understood and left the stadium led by Malfoy and Theodore.
As for the older Slytherins, they had no interest in watching Quidditch practice. They only wanted to enjoy the glory of winning Quidditch matches and didn't want to waste time on training.
This is also Slytherin.
The crowd eventually dispersed, and once the Quidditch pitch was empty of outsiders, Orochimaru looked at Marcus Flint, whose face showed a hint of gratitude, and sighed softly.
Although Marcus and his group looked older than the newly graduated ninjas, they were still quite inexperienced.
"Let's begin, Captain." Orochimaru picked up his flying broom. "I'm in a hurry."
"good!"
Marcus Flint had never encountered a Quidditch Seeker as talented and charismatic as Orochimaru.
He arranged the training as usual, laying out the tactics to be practiced one by one. In just a moment, the entire Quidditch pitch was bustling with activity.
While this place is bustling and noisy, there must be another place that is quiet and silent.
Professor Snape, having left the Quidditch pitch, appeared in Dumbledore's headmaster's office.
For the first time, Snape found it amusing to face the silent Dumbledore.
He never imagined that he, as a professor, would be monitoring a first-year student.
Even if it's a spy, it's still too low-class.
But how should I put it?
Snape looked at Dumbledore, who was listening to his report, and saw the seriousness and contemplation on the headmaster's face. He felt a strange sense of satisfaction.
Will this day come for you too, Dumbledore?
Dumbledore, however, did not notice the joy on Snape's face; he was merely pondering Slyke Anguill's scheme.
Why would this first-year student, who is ambitious about immortality and souls, suddenly want to play Quidditch?
He's pretending—
Or will they suddenly realize their mistake and want to integrate into the real Hogwarts student life?
Dumbledore hoped it was the latter, but his intuition told him that Slack Anguill was doing this for the former.
He needs to obtain more intelligence.
"Severus, have you spoken to Slack since that day?" Dumbledore asked casually.
Upon hearing this, Snape's eyes suddenly became deep.
"Yes, Professor."
"What did he say?" Dumbledore asked curiously.
"Don't you have anyone you want to resurrect, Professor?" Snape repeated Orochimaru's words verbatim.
And so, he witnessed the most powerful petrification magic in the world.
Dumbledore, the most powerful White Lord in history, fell into an indescribable sadness and silence.
After what seemed like an eternity, Dumbledore spoke in an almost whispered tone, as if pleading with Snape, "But that's impossible, isn't it, Severus?"
"Who knows, Professor," Snape blurted out, almost as if lost in thought. "What if?"
Dumbledore did not continue to answer Snape's question; he simply watched Snape quietly until the Slytherin lowered his head in shame.
Then Dumbledore slowly uttered his judgment.
"There is no such thing as coming back to life in this world, never. I am sorry, but that is reality, Severus."
Dumbledore reaffirmed his resolve.
To resurrect the dead, so that their souls may live on in the world without loss.
These are two red lines that the magical world must never cross; they are the truth of the world that he obtained after comprehending the miracle.
No one can cross this red line, no one can —
Including himself.
"That's all for today, Severus. Please continue to keep an eye on Slack Anguis and make sure he can study and live like a normal student."
Dumbledore gave detailed instructions, ignoring the disappointment in Snape's eyes.
After all, being explicitly denied the possibility of resurrecting the dead by the world's greatest white wizard still left him somewhat weary.
Many things are like a seed.
If it is not planted, it will never be remembered.
But once planted, one's thoughts are consumed by this illusory seed, until it becomes reality or is crushed by reality.
Snape still doesn't understand the meaning behind Slack Anguill's words to him, and he dares not think about it or even recall it.
But as he walked out of the principal's office, that question still lingered in his mind.
"Don't you have anyone you want to resurrect, Professor?"
Is this really impossible?
Snape asked himself.
No one answered him, just like many questions will never have an answer.
This is painful, but sometimes knowing the answer beforehand isn't any more comfortable, for example—
Mr. Ron Weasley.
A full day had passed since Harry's confinement, but he hadn't said a single word about Harry.
Harry didn't blame him, because he was just Ron's friend.
At this point, all he needs to do is offer a little words of comfort.
"Are you alright, Ron?"
Harry said softly, but Ron looked at Harry blankly, like a zombie whose soul had been ripped out, and silently shook his head.
He didn't know how to answer.
The selection of the Gryffindor Quidditch Seeker is scheduled for tomorrow.
Neither his twin brother nor Wood, the captain of the Quidditch team, informed him of the event.
They didn't reject me outright, but they responded silently through their actions.
Please don't hurt the team, Ron Weasley.
Ron Weasley's future with the Quidditch team is over; no one will ever hire him as the Seeker again.
For some reason, seeing Ron like this, Harry felt a sense of relief.
Because he also wanted to be the Seeker for the Gryffindor Quidditch team, it wouldn't be ideal to push Ron out in a head-to-head match.
But now————
All worries have been dispelled; tomorrow I will participate in the Quidditch team selection and strive to become the new Seeker.
"Look everyone! Harry Potter, son of James Potter, the former Seeker of Gryffindor, is on the field now!"
Harry couldn't help but feel excited at the thought of being introduced like that.
Just as Harry was about to ask Ron for a broom to try flying ahead, Ron suddenly looked up with a look of relief that he was still there.
"Thank goodness I still have you, Harry!"
"The whole of Hogwarts is saying you have absolutely no talent for Quidditch. I think we should just stay in our dorms and play wizard chess during the tournament!"
"After all, we both hate Quidditch the most, don't we?"
