Chapter 186 Discussion

Rowling leaned closer from the side, her eyes filled with curiosity.

"How is it?"

Her voice sounded a little nervous.

"Father Chen is willing to come and help with the exorcism."

Ed turned his head and looked at her.

"That's good.

Rowling also breathed a sigh of relief, as if a huge burden had been lifted off her shoulders.

But then, Ed's expression changed.

He became resentful.

"Why are we so unlucky?!"

His voice was filled with anger, grievance, and resentment.

"I just wanted to make a TV show overseas, how did this happen?!"

Rowling didn't say anything, she just patted him on the shoulder.

Just then, a voice came from the side.

"Gentlemen, do you have a moment? Shall we go outside and have a chat?"

Ed turned his head and saw Maurice standing not far away, holding a stack of photos in his hand, with a serious expression.

The only pub in Enfield town.

This is the oldest tavern in town, it's been open for almost a hundred years.

The wooden bar counter was polished to a shine, the walls were covered with old photos, and a jukebox in the corner was playing outdated country music.

The air was filled with the smell of beer and fish and chips.

Five people sat around a table in the corner.

Ed, Rowling, the photographer, Anita, Maurice.

There was a huge pile of photos on the table, covering the entire surface.

Morris picked up one of the cards and held it up for everyone to see.

"This is a photo of Jenny's bite wound."

His voice was very serious, as if he were testifying in court.

"As you can see, the tooth marks indicating two missing teeth are clearly visible here."

He pushed the photo closer to the center.

"This couldn't have been made by a child, because the size of the teeth marks wouldn't match up with a child's bite marks."

Anita glanced at him sideways, a hint of mockery on her lips.

"So you think it was that ghost who did it?"

"That's right."

Morris nodded emphatically.

He took a folder out of his bag, opened it, and pointed to a page of information inside.

"I looked up the house's history, and the previous owner's father lived here. His name was Bill Wilkins."

He paused.

"This Bill is missing two teeth, and the position matches the gap in the tooth mark exactly."

He raised his head and glanced at the crowd.

"And he died on that single sofa."

He pushed the documents over to me.

"Doesn't this perfectly match what the guy who possessed Jenny said? He said this was his house, his name was Bill, and he died here."

Morris's voice carried a hint of excitement.

"This also proves that the teeth marks in the photo are Bill's!"

"hehe."

Anita gave a cold laugh.

That smile was full of contempt.

"This is all publicly available information."

Her voice was calm, as if she were stating a fact.

"Most likely, Jenny heard the whole story from some neighbor and then incorporated it into her story."

"Kids have rich imaginations, and they're capable of anything if they want to get attention."

Morris frowned.

"Then how do you explain Jenny being teleported remotely within the house?"

"The credibility of this matter."

Anita said slowly.

"It's as low as when she said she was lifted off the bed."

Morris opened his mouth, wanting to refute, but couldn't find the words for a moment.

Just then, the photographer silently took an envelope out of his bag.

He took several photos out of the envelope and placed them on the table.

"I installed cameras in their room."

His voice wasn't loud, but it was very clear.

"We happened to capture the photo of Jenny being possessed by a ghost, holding it up."

He pushed the photo over.

Anita took it and looked down at it.

In the photo, Jenny is floating in mid-air, her body lying horizontally, as if she is lying on something unseen.

Her limbs hung limply at her sides, her head was tilted back, and her eyes were closed.

Anita stared at the photo for a few seconds.

Then she pointed to Jenny in the photo.

"You see, her knees are bent."

She raised her head and looked at everyone.

"Don't tell me you can't tell; that's how she jumps off the floor or bed."

"Jumping up and then being slapped down is what's called 'floating.'"

Morris:

'

He took a deep breath and then slowly exhaled.

He felt he could never wake someone who was pretending to be asleep.

He turned his gaze to Ed and Rowling, who had remained silent.

"Ed, Rowling."

His voice carried a hint of earnestness.

What do you think?

He paused.

"Last night, Jenny was teleported to a room on the second floor, which was locked from the outside."

"You were there at the time, and you all saw it."

Ed and Rowling exchanged a glance.

Just as Rowling was about to speak, Anita spoke first.

Her voice was clearly impatient.

Did you take any pictures at the time?

She looked at Ed and Rowling.

"To be honest, I believed in the Wells family the same way last year."

"But evidence suggests that the family was faking demonic possession."

Her voice grew increasingly agitated.

"They took advantage of my kindness to gain traffic and make money!"

"That so-called possessed child" later admitted that she made it up herself!

She paused, glancing in the direction of Peggy's house.

"The Peggy family too."

"She's applying for a bigger and better house now, you know? Bigger! Better!"

She gave a cold laugh.

"Who would want to live in a haunted house? But if it's the reason for applying for welfare housing, then that's a different story."

Morris ignored her.

He stared intently at Ed and Rowling, awaiting their answer.

Ed glanced at Rowling.

Rowling nodded slightly.

Ed took a deep breath and glanced at the other three.

Then he spoke, his voice calm, but every word was clear and distinct.

"There really is a demon in this house."

Upon hearing this, Morris's face showed a relieved expression.

Finally, someone is on his side!

Anita persisted in asking.

"On what basis was this conclusion reached?"

Her voice was tinged with doubt.

Rowling looked at her calmly.

"Last night, when Jenny was teleported to that locked room, she appeared in our room first."

Anita immediately retorted.

"Is it possible that she sneaked in when you weren't looking?"

"I hope so too."

Rowling's voice remained calm.

"But Jenny floated up from the floor."

She paused, as if recalling the scene from last night.

"She just lay flat on the floor and then moved straight to the next room."

Her gaze became somewhat unfocused.

"Passing through the wall."

Anita opened her mouth.

She wanted to say something, but seeing Rowling's expression, she swallowed her words.

She couldn't help but imagine that scene.

In the dead of night, in a dimly lit room, a little girl floated up from the floor, lay flat on the floor, drifted across the floor, and then disappeared through the wall.

She had to admit it.

It's really quite scary.
