Chapter 103 Mantle

Tai Su refers to the beginning of all things, which has taken shape and formed substance, but has not yet formed a complete body. Tai Su is the beginning of substance, which has not yet formed a complete body.

Tai Su refers to the initial stage of matter, before it has taken shape.

Finally, there is Tai Chi, which represents the state of the universe before the separation of Yin and Yang, before the creation of heaven and earth. It is the last form of the Five Primordial Elements.

The Way of Tai Chi elucidates the process by which the universe evolves from Wuji (the ultimate void) to Taiji, and then to the generation of all things.

The Taiji Way of Xuanhuang evolved from the Way of Yin and Yang, but what it contains is no longer just Yin and Yang.

His Tai Chi Way is a Way that truly encompasses all things and principles in the universe, including Yin and Yang, the Four Symbols, the Five Elements, the Three Powers, destruction, creation, life and death, reincarnation, and so on.

All the principles in the universe, in heaven and earth, are naturally contained within this Taiji principle.

The Way of Tai Chi can evolve into all the Way contained within the universe.

However, precisely because of this, the path of Tai Chi is countless times more difficult to cultivate and comprehend than the paths of Yin and Yang, the Four Symbols, and the Five Elements in the past.

However, this is the inherent difficulty; otherwise, the preciousness of the Great Way would not be evident.

The deeper one's cultivation and the higher one's realm, the more difficult it should become.

"Taiji, Taisu, Taishi, Taichu, Taiyi—the five Tai principles progress in sequence until they reach Wuji. By analogy, I wonder which level Master Hongjun, or rather, which level corresponds to the Heavenly Dao?"

Xuanhuang thought to himself.

However, this thought only flashed through his mind. Now that he had achieved Hunyuan, his future cultivation would be even more difficult.

But Xuanhuang's determination was further aroused.

Before attaining the Primordial Chaos Realm, one might consider it the ultimate pursuit in life. However, after attaining the Primordial Chaos Realm, the feeling of standing at the pinnacle of all beings, while wonderful, can also bring a sense of loneliness.

At this point, however, comprehending and cultivating to a higher level, and pursuing a deeper Dao, became Xuanhuang's new pursuit.

Compared to that, everything else is so insignificant.

However, once you reach such a level, the Five Principles of Tao that you need to comprehend next are not so easy to come into contact with.

After all, the Five Elements Way existed before Heaven and Earth, and it actually disappeared after Heaven and Earth were created.

The essence of Tai Chi, though still present, has transformed into Yin and Yang, into all things, and still exists within heaven and earth.

It is the sum total of all the principles of heaven and earth.

However, the Way of Tai Su, the Way of Tai Shi, the Way of Tai Chu, and the Way of Tai Yi have all disappeared and cannot be found anywhere.

So how should we explore these four paths?

Xuanhuang felt that although these four Daos had disappeared from the world and could not be found anywhere, to comprehend them, one would probably have to start from the myriad Daos of the world.

Taiyi is the closest to Wuji (the ultimate void) and is also the beginning of "existence"; Taichu is the beginning of Qi (vital energy), without form or substance; Taishi is the beginning of form, with form but without substance; Taisu, although with form and substance, has no substance.

In contrast to Tai Chi, after Tai Chi, all things are fully born, representing the complete manifestation of Qi, form, substance, and body.

This is essentially a matter of addition and subtraction.

From Wuji to Taiyi, then to Taichu, Taishi, Taisu, and Taiji, this is addition, from zero to one.

Conversely, from Taiji to Taisu, Taishi, Taichu, Taiyi, and finally to Wuji, this is subtraction.

From one to zero.

This is another form of reverse proof.

Just like how Xuanhuang went from the Five Elements to the Four Symbols, from the Four Symbols to Yin and Yang, and from Yin and Yang to Taiji.

That was a subtraction problem where five becomes four, four becomes two, and two becomes one, but now it's one to zero.

It's all subtraction.

These are all inverse evidence.

It's just that it will be a bit more difficult.

Having found his direction, Xuanhuang calmed down and gradually entered a meditative state to comprehend the myriad principles of heaven and earth.

……

However, while Xuanhuang was comprehending and cultivating, a storm was brewing in the prehistoric world. This was because Zhen Yuanzi was summoned by Dao Ancestor Hongjun, who bathed and burned incense before heading to Zixiao Palace.

Zhen Yuanzi was very respectful to the Dao Ancestor. When he arrived at Zixiao Palace, he announced his arrival and entered. Upon seeing the Dao Ancestor, he immediately performed a grand ceremony and paid his respects.

The Dao Ancestor looked at Zhen Yuanzi and nodded, saying, "Zhen Yuanzi, do you know why I summoned you here?"

Zhen Yuanzi shook his head.

The Dao Ancestor sighed and said, "My lineage has been passed down to seven disciples, but none of them have been able to attain my Dao."

"Only you, though not my disciple, have grasped the true essence of the method to sever the three corpses. That is why I summoned you here."

Upon hearing this, Zhen Yuanzi was both shocked and delighted.

After all, the Dao Ancestor's words affirmed his achievements, so how could he not be happy?

"According to the original will of Heaven, and due to a major change in the world, there were six sages in the primordial world, all of whom were my disciples," Hongjun said again.

Zhen Yuanzi was taken aback upon hearing this. Six Saints? Wasn't it seven?

Although Zhen Yuanzi did not say it aloud, Daozu seemed to know what he was thinking and said with a smile: "The original six sages were Laozi, Yuanshi, Tongtian, Nuwa, Jieyin and Zhunti."

"As for Xuanhuang, he was not originally among them."

Zhen Yuanzi was stunned, his mind churning with thoughts that seemed to boil over.

"Moreover, according to the original trend, apart from the Six Saints, there are no other Primordial Chaos beings, and..."

The Dao Ancestor paused for a moment.

Upon hearing this, Zhen Yuanzi quickly snapped out of his daze, intently watching the Dao Ancestor and listening attentively.

The Dao Ancestor continued, "Hongyun originally yielded the throne to Zhunti, thus incurring a profound karmic debt, which led to his demise. Although he was able to undergo tribulations and be reborn, he was no longer his original self, and would never have the possibility of attaining Hunyuan again."

Zhen Yuanzi's expression changed completely.

So that's how it is.

At the same time, he seemed to have thought of something and blurted out, "Could it be...?"

The Dao Ancestor nodded and said, "It is indeed him."

"My seventh disciple, Xuanhuang."

"His appearance changed your fate, and it changed the fate of everyone, even the fate of this world."

Zhen Yuanzi breathed a sigh of relief. Hearing this, he calmed down somewhat.

"I don't think I need to say anything more; you can figure it out yourself."

Seeing Zhen Yuanzi's reaction, Hongjun nodded and asked, "Is that Primordial Purple Qi of Hongyun now in your hands?"

Zhen Yuanzi nodded and took out the Primordial Purple Qi.

Hongjun gently waved his hand, and the Primordial Purple Qi came into his hand. The Dao Ancestor then gently stroked the Primordial Purple Qi.

Zhen Yuanzi sensed that the Primordial Purple Qi had undergone some kind of change, and then the Primordial Purple Qi flew towards him again, falling directly from the top of his head and entering his sea of consciousness.

"This Primordial Purple Qi will henceforth belong to you," said the Dao Ancestor.

Upon hearing this, Zhen Yuanzi hesitated for a moment, then bowed and said, "Disciple thanks Master."

"good!"

The Dao Ancestor spoke, and with a wave of his sleeve, a supreme treasure landed in front of Zhen Yuanzi.

"From this day forward, you will be my eighth disciple, and also my last disciple."

Hongjun laughed and said, "Laozi has the Taiji Diagram, Yuanshi has the Pangu Banner, Tongtian has the Zhuxian Sword Formation, Nuwa has the Mountain and River Map, and although Jieyin and Zhunti are nominal, they also have the Twelve-Petaled Golden Lotus of Merit and the Azure Lotus Banner."

"Xuanhuang possesses numerous supreme treasures, including the Chaos Pearl and the Primordial Sword. Furthermore, given his profound understanding of the Great Dao, even the Sages would likely find it difficult to subdue him."

"And you, having inherited my lineage and passed on my mantle, this supreme treasure belongs to none other than you!"

I was too busy during the day today, so this is only a minimum of three updates. Goodnight everyone.
