Chapter 149 The Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors

Laozi obtained the Sword of Slaughtering Witches, and Yuanshi and Xuanhuang even divided the original Heavenly Pillar Buzhou Mountain equally. Seeing this, the other sages were also envious, but they were helpless.

The reason why Lao Tzu, Yuan Shi, and Xuan Huang took action to collect these items was because it was in accordance with the will of Heaven and obtained them according to fate.

Others were not destined to receive these treasures. Jieyin and Zhunti, unwilling to accept this, silently began to calculate the Hetu and Luoshu diagrams.

However, soon, expressions of surprise and uncertainty appeared on the faces of all the sages. In their calculations, the Hetu, the Luoshu, and even the Kunpeng had all disappeared without a trace.

"strangeness."

Although the saints were curious, Hongjun had previously instructed them to go to Zixiao Palace after they finished mending the sky.

Therefore, after struggling to reach a conclusion for a while, all the sages and Xuanhuang left the prehistoric world and entered the chaos to search for the Zixiao Palace.

The Zixiao Palace stands just outside the Thirty-Three Heavens.

After everyone entered the Zixiao Palace and paid their respects to Hongjun, they saw Xuanhuang take out a futon and sit down.

So everyone followed suit and took a cushion and sat down.

After everyone sat down, their gazes turned to the Chaos Bell placed next to Hongjun.

Tongtian was the first to ask, "May I ask, Master, after Taiyi's death, may this Chaos Bell belong to me?"

Tongtian, however, had a rather rosy idea. He thought that since Laozi obtained the Taiji Diagram and Yuanshi obtained the Pangu Banner, the Chaos Bell should rightfully belong to him.

However, this was merely Tongtian's own idea. As soon as Tongtian finished speaking, Nuwa interjected, "Third Senior Brother, the Chaos Bell is Taiyi's treasure. Although Taiyi has perished, his three-legged golden crow lineage still has an orphan, Lu Ya, in our Nuwa Palace. In my opinion, this treasure should be given to Lu Ya to suppress the demon race's fortune. Why does Senior Brother want to take it?"

Now that Nuwa possesses a supreme innate treasure, she speaks with a certain degree of confidence.

Upon hearing this, Yuanshi sneered, "Junior Sister, you are mistaken. The demon race has been wiped out, so where does the talk of destiny come from? How can the Chaos Bell be inherited by the son of Dijun?"

"In my opinion, since the destiny is predetermined and the human race and humanity will flourish, then the eldest brother of the leader of the Human Cult should be in charge of this treasure."

Yuanshi's words infuriated Nuwa, while the other sages almost unanimously agreed that the first part of Yuanshi's statement was quite correct.

Who is Lu Ya? Does he even deserve to inherit the Chaos Bell? But nobody wanted to hear the second half of his statement. Even Tongtian was no exception.

Lao Tzu already possessed the Tai Chi diagram and the Xuanhuang Pagoda, and besides Xuanhuang, he was the richest man.

If we give him the Chaos Bell again, what will become of the others?

Just as Yuanshi and Nuwa were arguing fiercely, Jieyin and Zhunti suddenly bowed deeply to Hongjun and cried out, "Teacher, you are merciful! You fellow disciples all have supreme treasures, but we in the West are poor and have no supreme treasure to suppress our destiny."

He went on and on, not explicitly stating his intentions, but the meaning was clear: he wanted Hongjun to be more impartial and not always favor his personal disciples. He said that these two nominal disciples should also have a treasure.

However, Hongjun still didn't say who he was going to give it to. He simply raised his hand to quiet everyone, then his gaze swept over Zhen Yuanzi and Xuanhuang, finally landing on Xuanhuang. He asked, "Xuanhuang, who do you think should receive the Chaos Bell?"

Upon hearing this, Xuanhuang gave a wry smile and said, "Teacher, you know that Dijun promised me this Chaos Bell."

Upon hearing this, all the sages were startled and quickly calculated the secrets of heaven, immediately understanding the reason behind it.

As a result, everyone except Zhen Yuanzi became a little nervous, looking at Hongjun, fearing that Hongjun might really give the Chaos Bell to Xuanhuang.

Nuwa was alright; she had just obtained the Qiankun Cauldron, and her relationship with Xuanhuang was also good. The Chaos Bell falling into Xuanhuang's hands wasn't exactly bad for her.

After all, it's better than falling into the hands of the Three Pure Ones or Jieyin and Zhunti, right? She has never had much affection for the former, whether it was Laozi's unauthorized bewitching and guiding of the demon race to slaughter the human race, or the Three Pure Ones blocking the gate before.

All of this made her feel unfriendly towards the Three Pure Ones.

Meanwhile, Jieyin and Zhunti also schemed against the demon race, causing ten little golden crows to fly out of Tang Valley, ten suns soaring across the sky.

This led to a significant decrease in the Heavenly Court's fortune, which was also a major trigger for this great calamity war.

Therefore, if Nuwa herself could not obtain the Chaos Bell, then the best place for the Chaos Bell would be either Xuanhuang or Zhenyuanzi.

Of the two, the black and yellow is considered the best.

Firstly, Xuanhuang and he had a good relationship, and secondly, Xuanhuang had previously used his clone to save Fuxi's life.

Nuwa still remembers this favor. Therefore, she naturally favors Xuanhuang a little more.

However, after hearing Xuanhuang's words, Hongjun shook his head and said, "What you said is true, to exchange the Ziwei Emperor Qi for the Chaos Bell with Dijun. However, after Dijun died, you took back that Ziwei Emperor Qi."

"In that case, this exchange probably doesn't count, does it?"

All the saints smiled.

Xuanhuang's smile grew even more bitter. He said, "I knew you would say that, Master. Fine, then the Chaos Bell will be given to whomever you decide."

"Um."

Hongjun nodded.

Everyone immediately looked at Hongjun expectantly again.

Hongjun said, "Don't think about it anymore. The fate of the Chaos Bell in this great eon has come to an end, but the time for its reappearance is not yet here. Therefore, let me keep the Chaos Bell for now."

After Hongjun finished speaking, without waiting for everyone's reaction, he pointed at the Chaos Bell, and the bell flew out immediately.

It hangs under the eaves of Zixiao Palace.

Seeing this, everyone was somewhat disappointed that they hadn't gotten it, but they also breathed a sigh of relief. Since they hadn't gotten it, it was alright that no one else had either.

After Hongjun hung the Chaos Bell outside the palace, he glanced at everyone and said, "Apart from the Chaos Bell, in this great calamity, the witches and demons will decline and no longer be the main characters of heaven and earth, while the human race will soon rise to prominence."

"Laozi, Yuanshi, Tongtian, Zhenyuanzi, Jieyin, and Zhunti, you have all established great religions. Now is the time to greatly promote my Xuanmen and enlighten all living beings."

Upon hearing Hongjun's instructions, the six immediately replied, "Yes, Master, your disciples will obey your command."

As for Xuanhuang and Nuwa, neither of them established a religion, so there's no need to pay them any attention; just observe.

Hongjun continued, "When the human race prospers, the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors will emerge. These Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors will all have merit and can become the ultimate saints of humanity. These saints are also called the ultimate beings, who are formed by merging their bodies with the human way. They are somewhat similar to saints, but the differences are also great."

"The sage is in harmony with the Way of Heaven, but beneath the Way of Heaven lies the Way of Humanity, which is the Way of all living beings."

Hongjun slowly explained to the saints what a Perfected Person was. The Perfected Person's cultivation was not as high as that of a Saint, but it was much stronger than that of a Quasi-Saint.

Moreover, the perfect person is in harmony with the human way. Since the human way is imperishable, the perfect person is also imperishable. Therefore, the perfect person also has the ability to be immortal and indestructible, similar to that of a sage.

It was also because of the great rise of this human race and its leadership that the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors were born, and they achieved the status of perfect humans in accordance with the will of Heaven.

Therefore, Hongjun issued a decree that in addition to the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors themselves gaining merit, anyone who assists them in attaining enlightenment will also receive corresponding merit.

Even if it's less, even if the saints don't want it, their disciples can still take it.

This idea even piqued the interest of Xuanhuang and Nuwa.
