Simultaneous Time Travel: Gundam? All Teammates are Old Six
Chapter 4: The Most Outrageous Surrender in History
Archangel, bridge.
"...Please open the door and sign for the package!"
When this outrageous remark, mixed with intense electromagnetic noise, echoed across the Archangel's bridge via the public channel, all the operators were collectively petrified.
Lieutenant Natal Bakirulu's face instantly turned as black as the bottom of a pot.
"Play with me? Sign for my package? What nonsense is he talking about!"
"Lieutenant Bakirulu, calm down!" Captain Murrue Lamias suppressed a twitching in her eye and stared intently at the main screen.
"The target aircraft is completely inoperable and is... free-falling towards the ship's catapult deck!"
Yes, free fall.
The green Gene, with its arm severed and billowing black smoke, now looked like a piece of scrap metal that had been thrown out.
It crashed straight into the Archangel in a completely unappealing parabola.
Bang—boom!
A dull thud was followed by a violent tremor, and the Zeon landed on its back, completely flat on the ground.
It slammed solidly onto the catapult deck, sparks flying, and finally slid along the deck's slope for more than ten meters before coming to a stop.
Like a dead fish, it remained motionless.
"Medical team, damage control team, stand by! First combat team, proceed to the hangar and prepare to suppress the target!"
Natal's commands came out in rapid succession. She grabbed a rifle hanging on the wall, her eyes icy cold.
"I'll go myself."
Inside the hangar, the atmosphere was frozen solid.
Several automatic rifles were pointed intently at the cockpit of the dilapidated Gene.
The hatch slowly opened amidst a screeching sound of metal scraping against metal.
One hand was extended first, waving at the crowd as if to say hello.
Immediately afterwards, a young man wearing the uniform of Heliopolis Institute of Technology staggered out.
He was pale, sweating profusely, and his steps were unsteady. Coupled with the fallen tissue, he looked like a craftsman.
But on his face was a very incongruous, lazy smile.
"Brothers and sisters, don't get so angry."
Ling Yu raised his hands in a gesture of surrender, but his eyes darted around the assault MS beside him, marveling at it.
"Tsk, is this the hangar for whales? It's all limited editions."
"Shut up!"
Natal stepped forward, the dark muzzle of her gun pressed against Ling Yu's forehead, her voice devoid of any warmth.
"Name, identity, unit! Confess your purpose, you spy!"
Ling Yu blinked as he looked at the gun barrel so close to him. Instead of being afraid, he gave Ling Yu an expression that said, "You're very unprofessional."
"Sir, shouldn't we verify your identity before interrogation? What if I'm an outsider hired by your boss?"
"Foreign reinforcements?" Natal laughed angrily. "Piloting a ZAFT mobile suit, then turning around and attacking another ZAFT mobile suit."
Finally, it crashed into our ship. Is this the foreign aid you're talking about?
What are you acting? Do you think we're all idiots?
"Hey, you're right!"
Ling Yu slapped his thigh, as if he had met a kindred spirit.
He ignored the gun barrel that was practically spitting fire, cleared his throat, and said loudly in a boastful tone, like someone giving a product launch:
"I am the newly hired MS combat game experience officer of 'seed company', codename 'Keyboard King'."
This operation aims to test the bugs and compatibility of the G-series general-purpose integrated OS under extreme stress.
Upon hearing this, the entire room fell silent.
All the soldiers holding guns froze, as if they had been collectively petrified.
Even Kira, who had just arrived at the hangar and was about to plead for Ling Yu, opened his mouth wide and swallowed back all the words he wanted to say.
Game...Experience Officer?
Natal felt her blood pressure was exceeding the critical level.
She had spent half her life on the battlefield, and had interrogated at least eighty or a hundred prisoners, but she had never seen such a shameless person.
"You call this...a game?" she squeezed out through gritted teeth.
"Otherwise what?" Ling Yu spread his hands innocently. "Look, this mecha of mine is a 'Zeon Trial Card' given away as a bonus from the official recharge program."
It was a time-limited service, and it automatically expired right after it was due. The service was terrible; I'll definitely have to give it a bad review.
He pointed to the Strike Gundam not far away.
"That big white guy is our 'new server protagonist' for this test."
My task is to 'guide the newbies,' to familiarize him with the controls, and to take care of some unfriendly 'elite monsters' along the way.
"How was it, Kira? My skills as a gaming companion were pretty good, weren't they?"
"I..." Kira was completely dumbfounded.
Ling Yu then turned to Natal and began to complain earnestly:
"But sir, the physics engine in this game isn't very good. It falls apart after just one collision. It's too realistic."
Also, the AI's target acquisition logic is flawed; it keeps attacking its own allies. I suggest optimizing that.
"you……"
Natal's index finger was already on the trigger.
She was certain that the person in front of her was either insane or was insulting all those who died in the war in an extremely vile way.
"That's enough, Lieutenant Bakiruru."
Maru's voice came from behind. She had arrived at the hangar at some point, her face showing deep exhaustion, but her eyes were unusually sharp.
She walked up to Ling Yu and looked him up and down.
The young man's words were utterly absurd; every single one was utter nonsense.
but……
"OS", "BUG", "Testing", "AI Logic"...
These words pinpointed exactly what was bothering her most at that moment.
The G-series operating system was a half-finished product, full of unknowns and haste, which even the development team could not fully control.
Could this man, who calls himself a "game experience officer," really be... involved in OS development?
Or is he trying to convey some kind of message to himself in this absurd way?
"Captain!" A slightly weak but strong voice rang out.
It was Mu La Flaga, who had just gotten off the Möbius Zero. He was leaning against the wall, looking over here with a pale face.
"I saw it with my own eyes, this guy was using this piece of junk to fight back and forth with ZAFT's white captain's machine."
He's no ordinary driver; his value... far exceeds our imagination!
Maru's heart sank.
Even the "Falcon of Endymion" gave it such high praise.
Combined with the two completely different yet equally incomprehensible fighting styles in the combat video, and these seemingly insane yet subtly cryptic remarks...
This person cannot be judged by common sense.
"Take him to the solitary confinement room and keep him under strict guard," Maru finally ordered, her voice brooking no argument.
"Captain!" Natal exclaimed urgently, "This person is extremely dangerous!"
"It's precisely because it's dangerous that we need to keep it." Maru gave Ling Yu a deep look, her eyes filled with inquiry.
"He cannot die before all the intelligence value in him has been extracted."
Ling Yu grinned and winked at Natal.
"See, Captain is the most sensible one. Sir, remember next time, a gun can't solve everything, but a keyboard can."
After saying this, he whistled and swaggered toward the solitary confinement cell, escorted by two soldiers.
As he passed Kira, he paused, raised his hand, and patted the other man on the shoulder.
"Thanks, classmate. You were trying to speak up for me earlier, weren't you?"
Kira nodded blankly, his brain still processing what had just happened.
Ling Yu leaned close to his ear and chuckled softly in a voice only the two of them could hear:
"Don't worry, Kira. Fighting is like playing a video game, except you can't reload saves—it's exciting!"
"Oh, right," he straightened up, his face returning to its usual nonchalant expression, leaving Kira with a remark that sent chills down Kira's spine.
"Enjoy your time in the starting village, though... there's plenty of trouble ahead."
