Primordial Era: I am a member of the Jie Sect, and I am the God of Literature.
Chapter 418 Miaoshan descends to the mortal realm to repair the bridge, Jin Chanzi is born, Li Shimi
The Four Sages seemed to have vanished suddenly, and now only the Two Sages of the West and the Sage of the Earthly Path remain in the primordial world.
The sudden disappearance of the Four Sages led Jieyin to search for Zixiao Palace in the endless chaos many times, but it seemed that the Dao Ancestor did not want to see him, so he could not find Zixiao Palace no matter what he did, and he did not know where the Three Pure Ones and Nuwa had gone.
This made the two Western Saints think a lot, and at the same time, they seemed to have a premonition that something big might happen in the future of the prehistoric world. This unease made the two Western Saints feel even more anxious.
The Primordial Heavenly Dao Saint, Taiqing Laozi, had already comprehended the Saintly Dao when he established the Human Sect. His cultivation was extremely terrifying among the Heavenly Dao Saints, putting him on a huge level above them.
Nuwa goes without saying. Whether it was the laws of creation or the attainment of sainthood through merit, she did not lose any of her qualifications or laws. As a result, among the several saints of the Heavenly Dao, Nuwa's cultivation level was able to surpass that of Laozi of Taiqing. During the Investiture of the Gods, she even took the initiative to relinquish her sainthood. Now, with her cultivation level of Hunyuan Daluo Golden Immortal, she is probably even more unfathomable.
Meanwhile, Yuanshi Tianzun and Tongtian Jiaozhu also comprehended the holy path during the Investiture of the Gods. Originally, the two Western Saints could have fought against Yuanshi and Tongtian, and although they would not have won, they would not have lost too badly.
However, ever since the two sages, one deeply comprehended the Dao of Elucidation and the other deeply comprehended the Dao of Interception, their cultivation levels have directly surpassed theirs, reaching the level of Laozi of the Taiqing era.
But what about the two Western Saints? Not only have they not yet deeply comprehended the meaning of the Holy Path, but they haven't even finished repaying the karmic debts they owe to the Heavenly Dao. This makes the thoughts of the two Western Saints complicated!
"Since Sun Wukong needs a hundred years to be tempered in the furnace, then it's time for Jin Chanzi to be born, and Buddhism should also spread throughout the nine provinces of humanity!" A powerful voice then echoed in Leiyin Temple.
Upon hearing the words of the two Western Saints, even the Buddha could not help but say, "Amitabha, we will respectfully obey your will."
Having received the decree from the sage, the Buddha looked at Miaoshan and Guanyin and said directly, "Now you two shall enter the Nine Provinces, so that people may hear the Buddha's teachings, and guide Jin Chan to cultivate the Buddha's path!"
Upon hearing this, Miaoshan and Guanyin stepped forward in unison, saying, "We will strictly follow the Buddha's teachings!"
"Excellent! Today I will expound the wondrous teachings of Buddhism, the wondrous teachings of the West, on behalf of the Holy One!"
Immediately, golden light shone brightly from the Buddha's body. The Buddha sat on the nine-grade golden lotus of merit, and a profound sense of supreme authority emanated from his body. When expounding on the wonderful Dharma of the West and the Buddha's teachings, he also spoke of the Zen path established by Laozi (Li Er) in his time of converting the barbarians, as well as the path that Mahavairocana Buddha had realized.
In an instant, all living beings in the entire Ling Mountain seemed to be immersed in this supreme Daoist sound. The boundless Buddhist fortune seemed to transform into an ancient Buddha, standing tall in Xiniu Hezhou. Boundless golden light of merit shone on all living beings, and countless beings worshipped together. This scene was extremely shocking and also represented the current status of Buddhism in Xiniu Hezhou.
Miaoshan and Guanyin, who entered the Nine Provinces of the Human Race, also came to the Nine Provinces through the same method of entering the world.
This time, they not only have to fulfill the important mission of Buddhism, but also complete the trials of their own path of cultivation.
Now, both Miaoshan and Guanyin have reached the ultimate state of the initial stage of Quasi-Saint. Although the intermediate stage of Quasi-Saint is only a thought away, this step has caused the two of them to be stuck in the Eternal Era.
Therefore, Miaoshan decided to take advantage of this trip to Kyushu to train again!
Guanyin had the same idea, so when the two arrived in the Nine Provinces, they began to transform into countless forms.
Miao Shan came to Qingzhou, a human region, to undergo trials and tribulations. However, when he arrived at Hanzhong, Qingzhou, he found the waves to be turbulent and dangerous, with turbid currents surging into the sky and roaring like thunder. It was quite frightening. People on both sides could only carefully walk along the ancient plank road, step by step, because if they were not careful, they would fall off the cliff and be swept away by the waves.
Upon witnessing this scene, Miao Shan was momentarily stunned, and her Dao seemed to begin to transform continuously.
In the past, she attained enlightenment through the "Thousand-Handed and Thousand-Eyed Guanyin" and became one of the Three Saints of Western Buddhism, which is why she has this opportunity now.
"Thousand" signifies immeasurable and perfect.
With a thousand hands, one can prove the immeasurable vastness of great compassion; with a thousand eyes, one can prove the perfect and unobstructed wisdom.
With a thousand hands and a thousand eyes, Avalokiteshvara can benefit and bring happiness to all sentient beings. According to the needs of sentient beings, he responds with the five classes and five kinds of Dharma, and fulfills all wishes.
However, with the cultivation of countless ages, it seems that Miaoshan gradually forgot the original path, only remembering to compete for the path, and forgetting the path of her original heart.
Now, when she sees this scene, she feels as if endless karma has fallen from the sky, allowing her to comprehend the Dao of her current realm.
Then Miaoshan transformed into a mortal and traveled to this place, intending to overcome this tribulation.
This tribulation is not only a tribulation for those at the intermediate stage of the Quasi-Saint level of the Wondrous Goodness Path, but also a tribulation for bringing blessings to all people and repaying the debts of the original path.
So she transformed into a beautiful village girl, styled her hair into a bun, tied a floral bib around her waist, rolled up her trouser legs, and went to the human world to discuss with the woodcutter about building a bridge over the river.
Later, on a small boat bobbing in the rapids, she chatted with the old boatman and told him about her aspirations.
Upon hearing this, the old boatman greatly admired Miaoshan's determination, exclaiming that she should be a Bodhisattva to save the world, and thus took the initiative to help Miaoshan.
Upon hearing the old boatman's words, Miaoshan felt a mix of emotions welling up inside her...
Are Bodhisattvas truly beings who save people from suffering and deliver everything in the world?
I'm afraid even Miaoshan herself doesn't know the answer.
…………
But the old boatman was quick, and within just a few days, the news spread throughout the surrounding villages and towns of Hanzhong that a beautiful woman was openly seeking a husband on a boat in the Han River in order to raise funds for bridge repairs.
Upon hearing this, countless scholars in Hanzhong were filled with admiration and flocked to the area.
Confucian disciples, with the world in their hearts, did not intend to do anything wrong. There were also Confucian scholars with official titles and renown who used poetry to calm the waters of the Han River and help Miaoshan.
Countless ordinary people donated money, wealthy people donated silver, and even county officials, upon learning of the matter, used their official seal to suppress dissent and work hard to repair the bridge.
However, building a bridge that allows people to walk on the mighty Han River is not something that can be accomplished by ordinary, mundane means.
Without acquired treasures and innate treasures, and with the help of immortals to forge a celestial bridge and forge a demon-suppressing sword, this bridge would be difficult to complete.
Although those scholars genuinely wanted to bring peace and tranquility to the people of this place, those successful candidates in the imperial examinations, officials, and wealthy landowners were merely feigning sincerity in order to gain a good reputation.
Now, Emperor Li Shimin is the supreme ruler of the Tang Dynasty, initiating the Zhenguan era of prosperity. All the people under heaven submit to him, and the nine provinces are at peace.
Despite this, the Nine Provinces are vast, so vast that even a Quasi-Saint could not have a complete overview of them all, which led to the situation in Hanzhong.
Moreover, when Miaoshan appeared in Hanzhong and wanted to build a bridge to benefit the people by proposing marriage, the news spread quickly and even began to spread throughout Qingzhou.
The situation escalated to the point that even the local officials were unable to suppress it, and the matter eventually reached the ears of Li Shimin, who was in Chang'an.
When the ruffians trained by Yuan Tiangang reported the events in Hanzhong to Li Shimin, Li Shimin's face turned extremely gloomy.
"Where is Chengqian!" Li Shimin's authoritative voice rang out in the Lizheng Hall.
Li Chengqian, limping, approached Li Shimin, cupped his hands, and looked at Li Shimin indifferently, saying, "Your Majesty, please acknowledge me as the Crown Prince!"
"presumptuous!"
Li Shimin, already furious about the affairs of his domain, exploded upon hearing Li Chengqian's words. His overwhelming aura, that of a peak-level Martial Dao Golden Immortal, filled the Zheng Hall, startling Li Tai, Li Zhi, and the other princes.
They looked at their elder brother, Li Chengqian, with nothing but anger.
He cursed Li Chengqian in his heart for being such a fool, lacking any sense of propriety, not realizing that their father was already furious, yet his elder brother was still so stubborn as to choose to confront him head-on… (End of Chapter)
