Chapter 528 Nagato's Unease

A little earlier, in the Land of Rain, not far from the battlefield of the Land of Grass, was the Hidden Village of Amegakure.

The continuous drizzle continued to fall in this steel jungle, but unlike the oppressive and deathly atmosphere of the past, Amegakure, now riding the wave of Konoha and Akatsuki, was showing an unprecedented vitality and prosperity.

Merchants come and go on the streets, and the newly built infrastructure projects have added a touch of brightness to this village that is usually cold and gloomy.

Inside the tower of Amegakure Village.

Hanzo the Salamander looked down at the endless stream of merchants below, his aged face, hidden behind a gas mask, now adorned with an irrepressible, radiant smile.

"I never would have imagined this..."

Hanzo picked up a cup of hot tea, his mood was absolutely wonderful.

Just recently, he received an official trade letter from Sunagakure.

The Land of Wind is undertaking a desert oasis project and is facing a severe water shortage. They have even proposed spending a large sum of money to purchase water resources from the Land of Rain.

When Hanzo heard the news, he was grinning from ear to ear.

He had lived most of his life on this land that was constantly raining and made people feel cold and damp to the bone. He never dreamed that this rain, which annoyed him every day, could one day be sold for money, and that a big customer like Sunagakure would come to buy it with real money.

Overjoyed, Hanzo didn't even bother to discuss the price, fearing that Sunagakure might back out, and signed the water supply contract in one stroke.

"The Akatsuki organization has really made a name for itself."

Hanzo took a sip of tea, a hint of emotion flashing in his eyes.

After receiving Yahiko's reply, he was initially very angry, but later he came to terms with it. His subordinates had all been infiltrated by Akatsuki members, and he was also getting older, so his spirit was not what it used to be.

Seeing the Akatsuki growing stronger and the five great ninja villages now cooperating like one big family, Hanzo's obsession with power suddenly faded.

"Times have changed. By following Konoha, this towering tree, you can not only make money steadily, but you also don't have to worry about being invaded by powerful nations every day. What's wrong with that?"

However, just as Hanzo was sighing.

A surge of chakra suddenly traveled from the distant northeast, traversing thousands of mountains and rivers, and reached the tower.

Hanzo jerked the teacup in his hand, splashing scalding tea onto the back of his hand, but he was completely unaware.

He suddenly raised his head, his gaze fixed on the direction of the Land of Grass. His eyes, which had been full of smiles, were instantly replaced by shock and solemnity.

"This chakra... how is this possible?! Even from this great distance, it can still make my heart pound. What level of battle has taken place in the Land of Grass?!"

Hanzo's expression instantly shifted between light and shadow, a strong sense of unease rising within him.

"Someone come here!"

Hanzo shouted loudly, and several members of the Amegakure ANBU appeared behind him instantly.

"Immediately dispatch the most elite sensory team to the border of the Land of Grass at full speed. Find out exactly what caused that chakra outburst!"

"Yes, Lord Hanzo!"

Meanwhile, at the other end of Amegakure, inside the Akatsuki's core base.

Nagato was sitting at a large desk, holding an engineering report in his hand.

He was somewhat absent-minded all day, and even misread the simplest accounts several times.

The thought of Jiraiya and the people of Konoha facing the legendary Asura of the Ninja World, Uchiha Madara, made Nagato's heart restless.

Even if Nishikawa Tetsu said he was very confident, he couldn't stop worrying.

Just then, Nagato suddenly stood up!

"Clang!"

The chair behind him was knocked to the ground by his violent movement.

His wavy Rinnegan instantly contracted, and his gaze was fixed on the direction of the Land of Grass.

As the possessor of the Six Paths Eye, his perception of chakra is much more acute than Hanzo's.

At the distant horizon, he clearly sensed a world-destroying chakra surge.

"This clash of chakra... the teachers have made their move!"

Nagato clenched his fists tightly, his fingers turning white from the force.

"No... I can't just sit here and wait for the results!"

Nagato gritted her teeth, her worries finally overcoming Nishikawa Tetsu's parting words.

He grabbed the black robe with red clouds draped over the back of the chair and put it on without hesitation.

"Hanzo has been quite well-behaved lately and won't cause any trouble anytime soon. But if I don't go, what if the teacher and the others..."

Without further hesitation, Nagato transformed into a red blur and rushed out of the Akatsuki base, speeding towards the battlefield in the Land of Grass amidst the pouring rain!
