Chapter 115 Five Paths of Reincarnation Protecting the Home Snake

Chapter 116 The Five Paths of Reincarnation Protects the Home Snake

Ordinary beings are endlessly cycling through the world of birth and death, like a wheel that keeps turning; this is the cycle of birth and death.

Both Buddhism and Taoism involve reincarnation.

Buddhism speaks of four kinds of birth and six realms of existence, while Taoism speaks of five realms and six bridges.

The six realms of existence in Buddhism are: gods, humans, ghosts, animals, hell beings, and asuras.

The Taoist Five Paths are: Heaven (Gods), Humans, Animals, Hungry Ghosts, and Hell.

Taoism believes that all five paths have a lifespan and tribulations, meaning they have not yet escaped the cycle of birth and death.

The lowest and most painful place is hell, while the highest and most peaceful place is heaven. Gods and humans are both sentient beings, and each has their own lifespan.

Only by achieving immortality can one transcend the cycle of reincarnation, attain longevity, and achieve true freedom.

The so-called six bridges—gold, silver, jade, stone, wood, and bamboo—represent the six paths that all living beings can take.

Those who cross the Golden Bridge attain immortality and live a carefree life; those who cross the Silver Bridge are enfeoffed as local deities and enjoy the offerings of incense in the mortal world.

Those who cross the jade bridge will be reborn into powerful and wealthy families; those who cross the stone bridge will be born as commoners in simple clothes.

Those who cross the wooden bridge are born with chronic illnesses, are lonely in childhood, and are destined to be widowed, orphaned, and alone throughout their lives.

As for the final bamboo bridge, it is the place where those who have committed heinous crimes and are utterly wicked are reincarnated.

It is also divided into four grades.

The first is the fetus, such as cows, dogs, and pigs; the second is the egg, such as snakes and chickens; the third is the louse, such as fish, crabs, and shrimp; and the fourth is the transformation, such as mosquitoes, flies, and ants.

If a player or native dies and still has [lifetimes], they will randomly fall into the cycle of reincarnation.

Whether one becomes a human, a ghost, or an animal, it's all up to fate.

However, in the five realms of reincarnation, beings in hell are like dust on the earth, beings in hungry ghosts are like stars in the sky, animals are like a vast snowstorm, while humans and celestial beings are only like a speck of dust on a fingernail.

The chance of being reborn as a human is extremely small.

But if you obtain the Six Bridges, you'll have a chance.

If a player obtains this [stone bridge], they can be reborn into an ordinary family.

But Li Yu has obtained it, and it is different now.

As night fell, the ghosts became increasingly ferocious, and everyone withdrew from the [Gate of Ghosts].

[Ghost Star Stone Chamber] can drop [Six Bridges], making it the most important leveling spot. Li Yu and the [Construction Corps] stayed here to guard the area.

Li Min and the others returned to [Sky Courtyard] to collect materials and rush to make [Upper Pond Water].

He ordered his men to keep a close watch on Sun Qing, and left Lu Jiu in the ground as a guard. Li Yu then slipped into the [Fanghu].

In front of the [Xianlu Stele], he threw the [Stone Bridge] to the ground.

The tiny stone bridge, no bigger than a palm, disappeared into the ground, as if it had sunk into the sea, leaving no trace.

At the same time, [Immortal Abode] also gained a new [Special Feature: Reincarnation of the Five Paths].

'The Five Paths of Reincarnation 1/11': The body is like an echo, the body is like a bubble, flowing through the five paths, crossing the six bridges.

-----

Li Yu carefully sensed—

All beings living in the pot, whether they are long-haired people, the Xuanju clan, or Niu Fu and He Lian from [Prisoner in Youli], can step onto the [Stone Bridge] after death, as long as Lord Li Yu agrees.

Moreover, Li Yu can adjust the location of the other side of the [Stone Bridge].

For example, in the womb of a pregnant woman, or in the Jade Maiden Mountain Temple.

Li Yu then went to check on [Prisoner in Youli]. He Lian's injuries had long since healed, and now his [Silver Body] abilities were even greater than before, making him a tyrant in [Prisoner].

Niu Fu was no less impressive; nearing the pinnacle of the [Mysterious Rank], he had become involved with that [Azure Goose]. In the monster-infested [Youli], they secured a place and stood shoulder to shoulder with He Lian.

Li Yu found it amusing and temporarily abandoned his idea of creating [Niu Ji] and [He Mao].

After dinner, Li Yu stroked the [Widow's Silk]. The little maid also danced the [Mulberry Grove Dance], but her stiff body and the way she stepped on her right foot made [Thirteen Ants] roll around laughing on Li Yu's head.

The young woman drew this scene on paper.

In the stillness of the night, Li Yu, Xiao Niangzi, and Thirteen Ants all went to the [Liuli Palace] to rest.

In the small pond, on a clump of lotus leaves, the little horse-faced creature with green tail wiggled back and forth, mimicking the little maid. Though its strange shape and the absence of rain caused the pond water to surge and boil, startling countless fish and shrimp into leaping and splashing.

Two black carp leaped onto the lotus leaf, their tails slapping against the little green tail.

Neigh~~

Suddenly, the little green-tailed fish raised its long, flat head and emitted a clear, neighing sound. Then, its two pectoral fins folded, like a pair of legs, and stepped on the tails of the [black carp].

The black carp struggled fiercely, but only managed to shake the lotus leaves, unable to escape. It wasn't until they made chirping noises, waking one or two small fish on the edge of the pond, that Little Greentail raised its pectoral fins and let them go.

The pond has returned to its usual tranquility.

On the shore, a two-inch-long, round, red-cheeked cave salamander pushes a strawberry past.

The following day, June 29th, many players consumed [Upper Pool Water] and entered [Ghost Gate].

Li Yu, along with Xiong Ba and the other three, casually stepped into a [stone chamber].

This time, they encountered a group of lecherous men who surrounded Li Min and her companion with infatuated expressions.

Mu Jin stepped forward and shielded Li Min behind her.

The two women thought these ghosts would be scared away by the scarred face, like the "playboy ghosts." But to their surprise, these "lecherous ghosts" closed their eyes and went straight for them.

Pooh!

Mu Jin spat and slashed at the ghost hand with her sword. Xiong Ba and the other two also rushed forward to help.

After nearly an hour of fighting, the group finally managed to kill the lecherous men. The two women, though covered in sweat, were thankfully unharmed. Xiong Ba and Wang Bin, however, were groped countless times and felt extremely uncomfortable.

After a short rest, another stone chamber appeared, and three-foot-tall [short-lived ghosts] swarmed in. The five men simply defended and did not attack, holding out for a quarter of an hour until the ghosts exploded and died.

Slippery ghost, lazy ghost, frivolous ghost...

After sweeping through each of the stone chambers, by late afternoon, Li Min checked his findings—a few scrolls and a construction blueprint.

Li Yu examined them one by one and found that the [blueprint] was actually the [Earth Grade - Temple of the Great Emperor Youtian].

Li Yu thought it looked good, so he and the four of them finished their work and rushed back to [Sky Courtyard] to build the ancestral temple.

[Attributes] Literary Style +100, Martial Style +100. There is a certain chance that a [Guardian Snake] will appear in the residences of the territory.

[Description] In Chaozhou, there is a snake god, whose image faces south with a crown, and is revered as the Great Emperor of Wandering Heaven. The shrine is filled with snakes. To see him, the temple keeper must offer prayers before he appears, coiling among the sacrificial vessels, or hanging upside down from beams. Sometimes he is supported by a bamboo pole, his snakes winding and intertwining, neither frightening nor stinging. They are about three feet long, a lovely emerald green. Hearing of this, it comes from Wuzhou, and the elders especially revere it. Wherever one worships the god, snakes often roam and rest in their home; some even borrow from the god. — *Lingnan Miscellaneous Records*

-----

Within two or three days of the temple's erection, more than a dozen "household snakes" began to appear in the houses within the "Sky Temple".

Both the black and yellow grades are available.

On the second day of the seventh lunar month, a [Earth-grade Guardian Snake] appeared in Xiong Ba's room.

When this snake appeared, many people were filled with envy and came to see it.

The small, grass-green snake was so frightened that it slithered directly into Xiong Ba's bed and refused to come out.

This prompted others to joke that when Xiong Ba returned home in a few days, he might find a beautiful woman waiting for him.

Upon hearing this, Yuan Shu, who had rushed from the county, pointed to the bed and said, "I want this snake."

New epidemic prevention regulations have been issued; everyone should stock up on some medicine.
