Chapter 95 Crying

At noon, Yu Wenhao had just driven out of the residential area when his phone rang. He glanced at it and saw it was Brother Wang. He quickly answered the phone.

Brother Wang asked, "Xiao Yu, where are you?"

Yu asked, "I just left home and am heading to Xiasha. Brother Wang, what can I do for you?"

Brother Wang chuckled and said, "It's not really an order. I'm just asking if you have time to go to Suzhou with me tomorrow, Saturday. We should be back the day after tomorrow, at the latest by the early morning of the day after that, so it won't interfere with your work."

Aren't these two things happening at the same time? Deep down, Yu Wenhao really wanted to go out with Brother Wang. He felt that following Brother Wang would broaden his horizons a lot. After all, Brother Wang was once a billionaire, even though he was down on his luck now. But down-on-his-luck billionaires have more stories to tell, and they're usually quite willing to share them.

For them, everything is in the past, and there's nothing to hide. Through their ups and downs, they've seen through the fickleness of human relationships and the coldness of the world. Yu Wenhao feels that they seem to understand the principles of being a person better, and their judgment is more accurate. When they are willing to get close to you, it means they have already humbled themselves and genuinely consider you a friend.

If someone is like Lao Shi, when he tells you something, he'll always only tell you half and hide half. He'll weigh things up in his mind before telling you. He still cares about his image, and with an image comes concerns. Even when he acts very close to you, there's always a sense of propriety and a gap in his mind.

Yu Wenhao wasn't so arrogant as to think he could be on equal footing with Lao Shi; he knew his limits. But with Brother Wang or Lao Yao, there wasn't that kind of disparity.

Now that Brother Wang's and Lao Shi's matters have collided, Yu Wenhao certainly can't just abandon Lao Shi because of this; he still needs to finish this matter first.

Yu asked Brother Wang, "Brother Wang, I'm sorry, I have something to take care of right now, and I don't know if it will be finished by tomorrow."

Brother Wang was very easygoing and immediately said, "It's okay, I don't need to go very early. I can leave around two or three o'clock in the afternoon. Before that, Xiao Yu, whether you have time or not, just let me know. If you can't go, I'll call a car at the last minute."

"Okay, Brother Wang, I'll definitely call you," Yu Wenhao said to Brother Wang.

After hanging up the phone, Yu Wenhao wondered what kind of business Brother Wang was doing this time. It was still the middle of the month, not the end of the month yet. He wondered if Brother Wang's trip to Suzhou this time was not like his last trip to Wuhu, where he was trying to boost bank sales. Yu Wenhao was very curious about what kind of business Brother Wang was doing this time.

"Have you had lunch?" Yu asked.

Qiqi hummed in agreement, but didn't say anything more.

Yu Wenhao looked up at the rearview mirror, and Qiqi seemed to know what was going on, so she quickly turned her head away. However, Yu Wenhao still saw that Qiqi's eyes were red.

Yu asked, "What's wrong?"

Qiqi shook her head and said in a muffled voice, "Nothing?"

She said it was nothing, but the more Yu Wenhao looked at it, the more it seemed like there was something going on. Yu Wenhao asked:

Are you a little worried?

Qiqi nodded.

Yu Wenhao sighed inwardly, but he still said, "Qiqi, if you regret it now, it's not too late to back out. You can't force these things."

"No, no, Brother Yu, it's not that I don't want to do it, it's just that, it's just that I'm afraid I won't be able to cry."

As Qiqi spoke, she raised her head, pointed to her eyes, and greeted Yu Wenhao:

"Look, I practiced in front of the mirror for over an hour. I even remembered how my grandfather was exploited by landlords in the old society, but I couldn't cry. In the end, I grabbed some chili peppers with my hands and rubbed my eyes to make it look like this."

"Oh, I see," Yu Wenhao couldn't help but burst into laughter. He asked, "How old is your grandfather?"

Qiqi said, "Seventy-three, why?"

"Then you can't cry," Yu Wenhao said.

Qiqi was puzzled and asked, "Why?"

Yu Wenhao said, "Seventy-three years old. Your grandfather was born in the 1950s. The landlords hadn't even had a chance to exploit him before they were overthrown."

Qiqi chuckled and said shyly:

"How could I forget that? But, Brother Yu, what should I do if I can't cry? Should I put chili peppers in my bag?"

"No, no, that might damage your eyes. It's not sadness, it's pain," Yu Wenhao said. "It's okay. Everyone expresses pain differently. You don't have to cry. For example, a blank expression, like you've gone mad, is also pain. Becoming clumsy and awkward is also pain. And lower your voice, as if you're forcing it out."

"Think about it, think about the movies and TV shows you've watched. Aren't there people who look like this when they're in pain?"

Qiqi thought for a while, then realized something. She let out a long sigh and smiled at Yu Wen.

Yu Wenhao said, "By the way, you two, just don't burst out laughing when the time comes, as long as you're not happy."

Qiqi kept nodding.

When the car arrived at Tenglong Building, Qiqi tilted her head and looked into the car. She saw Qiqi sitting in the back seat, so she didn't sit in the front passenger seat. Instead, she sat with Qiqi in the back.

Qiqi told Qiqi about how she had tried to cry but couldn't, and how she finally managed to get tears to come out by using chili peppers. Qiqi laughed and said:

"No need to bring chili peppers, just bring me. I can pinch you hard and make you bruise all over, I guarantee you'll cry."

"You dare!" Qiqi snorted at Qiqi.

When they reached the intersection, the Third Ring Road Building was just ahead. Yu Wenhao pulled the car over to the side of the road and let Qiqi and Qiqi get out so they could walk over.

Yu Wenhao said to them, "Don't be afraid, I'm in the parking lot outside. If anything happens, just run out and find me."

Kiki said nonchalantly, "We don't need you. Just wait for our good news."

Yu Wenhao gave them a thumbs up and continued driving forward. When they arrived at the gate of the Sanhuan Group, there were still quite a few people watching the excitement outside the gate, as well as self-employed individuals who came to do live broadcasts, but they were all blocked by security guards.

When Yu Wenhao drove up, the security guard glanced at the license plate and let him through. Old Shi had already called the security manager, informing him of Yu Wenhao's license plate and telling him that any vehicle entering or leaving should be allowed to pass. Old Shi didn't explain the specific reason, nor was it necessary to.

Yu Wenhao drove his car into the courtyard and found a parking space in front of the Sanhuan Building. With the front of the car facing the gate, he could see that the lobby inside was still filled with smoke and shadowy figures.
