Chapter 139 Emergency Situation

Chapter 139 Emergency Situation

The two men's good luck didn't last long. The leader initially had an unstoppable momentum, winning repeatedly, but then he lost several rounds in a row, quickly losing all his chips.

Hu Yi took them back to the hotel. Thinking about how much extra money he had unexpectedly earned that day, he bought some food outside and took a taxi back to his dormitory.

It was almost ten o'clock when I entered. Xia Yan and Caihua were playing an online game. Hu Yi sat next to Xia Yan, eating and watching the game with great interest, occasionally giving him a few pointers.

After finishing his meal, Hu Yi took a shower and returned to the bedroom in a tank top and shorts. Seeing Xia Yan already suffering terribly from cauliflower, he sat down at the table and turned on his computer: "Little cauliflower, you're pretty arrogant, aren't you? Come on, let me teach you a lesson!"

The game they were playing was called StarCraft, which was one of the most popular and favorite games Hu Yi played before he went abroad.

This is a highly competitive and fun real-time strategy game that demands a high level of strategic thinking, adaptability, and hand speed from players.

Since Caihua moved in, Hu Yishi has rarely played a few rounds with him. At first, he was always able to win, but later, as Caihua buried herself in practicing at home every day, the two of them began to be evenly matched.

Lately, Hu Yi has found it increasingly difficult to gain the upper hand. He knows it's due to a lack of practice, but he's still not entirely convinced and tries to prove he's still as formidable as ever, attempting to reclaim the dignity of being the strongest in Dormitory 901.

In the first game, Hu Yi launched a quick attack while Caihua was still unsettled at the start and quickly secured the victory.

"That's too cunning! They caught me off guard!" Caihua shouted indignantly, "Again!"

The second game was quite close, with both players gathering a large number of pieces to face off in the center of the field. In the end, Caihua was one step ahead, seizing Hu Yi's weakness and defeating him decisively.

"Damn, that was a mistake!" Hu Yi poured himself a drink and lit a cigarette. "Let's try again!"

Caihua chuckled, "Alright, best two out of three, this round will decide the winner!"

In the third game, both players played steadily and cautiously, advancing step by step. In the mid-game, Caihua led a large force to launch attacks in all directions, intending to lure out the opponent's main force for a decisive battle; while Hu Yi concealed his troops in a corner of the map, planning to wait for an opportunity to launch a surprise attack.

Finally, Caihua grew impatient and launched a fierce attack on Hu Yi's base. While Hu Yi directed his troops to put up a stubborn resistance, he also used transport planes to airdrop all his marines and mechanized units to Caihua's stronghold.

The scene immediately became lively. Xia Yan, who was watching from the sidelines, was sweating profusely. Hu Yi and Caihua were busy taking care of both sides, and for a moment, no one had time to say a word.

A few minutes later, the situation gradually became clear. The Zerg army that Caihua had sent out earlier was completely wiped out, and its home base was also rendered defenseless by Hu Yi.

Although Hu Yi's base was on fire everywhere, the collection and production work could still be maintained. After a bloody battle, a small number of the troops at the front were still rampaging around Caihua's hometown as if it were an empty land.

"How about that? No chance now, right?" Hu Yizhi said smugly. "Best two out of three, I won!"

"What's the rush?" Caihua tried to sound calm. "I have plenty of bases out there, I'll show you soon enough!"

"Haha, stop being so stubborn." Hu Yi joked casually as he intensified his efforts, encircling and annihilating Caihua's remaining forces across the map.

Just then, a piercing alarm suddenly rang out throughout Building 10.

"What's wrong?" All three of them were taken aback. Hu Yi had been at Youda University for over two years and had never heard an alarm bell ring in any of the buildings. This bell sounded similarly to the school bells for elementary and middle schools, except that it was continuous and sounded particularly urgent, making people feel uneasy.

"I'll go take a look." Xia Yan got up and went out.

Du Shan, who lived in the next hut, came out and poked his shirtless head into their house: "What's wrong? Is it on fire again?"

"No way, they've been doing fire safety inspections lately." Hu Yi hesitated for a moment. "It's probably a fire drill?"

"This kind of drill at this time?!" Du Shan muttered in dissatisfaction, "Crazy."

"Something does seem off." Hu Yi smiled, shook his head, and stood up. "I'll go take a look too."

Caihua leaned forward alertly, blocking her computer screen: "Hey! Don't peek at my seat!"

"Why would I need to peek?" Hu Yi chuckled dismissively, then sat back down in his chair. "Then let's just eliminate you first!"

Having just returned to the battlefield and engaged in a brief skirmish, the corridor outside began to clamor. The sounds of doors opening and closing, footsteps, and the incessant ringing of alarm bells mingled together, and a familiar male voice could be faintly heard shouting.

Just as they were filled with doubt and uncertainty, Xia Yan hurriedly returned and shouted as soon as he opened the door, "Maxim is outside. Tell all the students to come downstairs."

"What happened?"

"I don't know, he only said it was an emergency." Xia Yan quickly changed her shoes, put on her cotton coat, picked up her gloves, and stuffed the small bag containing all her US dollars into her arms: "Let's go quickly, don't forget to take your money and documents."

"Emergency? How urgent?" Hu Yi reluctantly watched the battle on the screen. "You go first, I'll finish off the cauliflower and then go downstairs."

"Forget it, life is more important." Caihua said with a grin as she put on her clothes, "Let's just consider this a win for you! We'd better hurry downstairs."

Hu Yi laughed, pushed the table up, and waved to them, "You guys go first, I haven't gotten dressed yet."

Xia Yan and Caihua turned and went out. Hu Yi had just pulled up his pants when he saw Du Shan from next door also dressed and rushing out, followed by his girlfriend.

In times of emergency, people are always prone to herd mentality. Seeing that everyone in the room had left, Hu Yi couldn't help but feel a little nervous. He quickly and efficiently put on his clothes and shoes, packed all his important items into his pockets, and hurriedly walked out the door.

Most of the people on the ninth floor had already gone downstairs, with only a few scattered students jogging towards the stairs in the corridor. Hu Yi glanced around and saw the building manager, Brother Ma, limping to the side of Natasha's small house, pounding his fist on the door several times: "Natasha! Natasha! Come out quickly! Emergency! Get downstairs immediately!"

The door remained closed, and Natasha's voice could be faintly heard from inside, but Hu Yi couldn't make out what she was saying. He only heard Little Ma mutter something under his breath, then shout, "Then hurry! As soon as possible! I'm leaving now!"

Hu Yi was secretly puzzled when Little Ma turned around and limped towards him: "Anton! Is anyone else in your room?"

"That's it, everyone else has left, I'm the last one."

"Very good!" Little Ma came up to him, reached out and grabbed Hu Yi's arms: "Anton, please do me a favor!"
