Chapter 2 Diagon Alley, what's with the levitation spell? Wands should be used to smash enemies

#Chapter 2 Diagon Alley, why use a levitation spell? Wands should be used to smash enemies' knees!

"Love, this is the Leaky Cauldron, the dividing line between the wizarding world and the Muggle world."

Professor McGonagall stood in front of a bar on Charing Cross Road and pointed to a dilapidated wooden door.

But in Luo Wei's eyes, this was not a bar at all.

Location: Brie - Prairie Hotel

Threat Level: Medium (Full of rangers, bandits, and orc spies)

Instead of a sign for "Leaky Cauldron," the wooden door displayed a picture of a white pony raising its front hooves.

Rowe placed his hand on the "fine iron dagger" (dinner knife) at his waist, his muscles tense.

"Stay close to me." Professor McGonagall pushed open the door.

The bar was dimly lit, and several old wizards sat in a corner smoking pipes—real old clay pipes—the smoke rings they exhaled forming strange shapes in the air.

"Is that the grey-robed wizard?" Rowe stared warily at an old man wearing a pointed hat. "Is he using smoke rings to transmit tactical signals?"

Professor McGonagall was clearly used to the new students' fussiness; she simply assumed that Rowe was shocked by the magic.

"Don't just stand there, let's go to the back."

She led Luo Wei through the bar to a small courtyard in the backyard, facing a red brick wall.

"Look closely, this is the entrance to Diagon Alley." Professor McGonagall drew her wand and tapped it lightly on the wall. "Count up three blocks, then count two blocks horizontally..."

With a series of clicking and grinding sounds, the brick wall was folded up by some force, revealing a wide cobblestone street.

The sunlight suddenly streamed down.

Even though he was mentally prepared, Luo Wei was still so shocked by the sight before him that he held his breath.

[New map discovered: Lonely Mountain/Gondor Market]

[Prosperity Level: Extremely High]

The streets were filled with wizards in robes, like citizens of Gondor celebrating a festival. The shops were numerous and diverse, but the signs he saw had all changed:

Flourish and Blotts is the Rivendell Library (selling: ancient scrolls, Silmarillion artifacts).

The Ee-la Owl Shop has been transformed into the Misty Mountains Messenger Station (selling: Warhawks and Scout Birds).

The Quidditch boutique is the Rohan's Equipment Shop (for sale: warhorses).

"First, we need to go to Gringotts to collect your grant." Professor McGonagall pointed to a crooked, snow-white building at the end of the street. "That's the Wizarding Bank."

Lo Wei's pupils suddenly contracted.

Location: Moria Mine

[Administrator: Orc from the Misty Mountains]

"Gringotts is run by goblins?" Rowe asked.

"Yes, fairies." Professor McGonagall nodded. "While they aren't very friendly, they are very trustworthy. And besides Hogwarts, Gringotts is the safest place in the world!"

Luo Wei swallowed.

The safest? That's for you wizards! For me, a "Hobbit," it's like entering an orc's lair!

Stepping through the bronze gate, two rows of fairies dressed in scarlet and gold-trimmed uniforms sat behind a tall counter, their slender fingers manipulating the scales.

But under the system's filter, it doesn't look like a uniform at all.

Those were leather armor stained with oil! The goblins weren't weighing gold coins, but sharpening knives! Their sharp teeth were exposed, and their dark yellow eyes gleamed with a greedy red light, as if they were ready to pounce and tear the throats of anyone who came.

Rowe gripped the handle of the frying pan in his pocket tightly.

"We need to access the Hogwarts scholarship fund," Professor McGonagall said, handing over a small golden key.

The fairy raised her head and smiled (System judgment: [Bloodlust]).

"Of course, Professor McGonagall, come with me."

For the next ten minutes, Rowe sat on the speeding cart, navigating the labyrinth deep underground, his eyes closed the entire time, muttering to himself:

"This is an illusion, this is an illusion, there is no Balrog, there is no Balrog..."

When his feet touched the ground and he clutched the small, jingling bag of Galleons (System: [Dragon's Treasure Fragments]) in his hand, his back was already soaked with sweat.

"Are you alright, Rowe?" Professor McGonagall asked with concern, looking at his pale face. "It's easy to get dizzy sitting in a stroller."

"I'm fine, Lady of Light." Lowe took a deep breath, his eyes hardening. "I'm just even more convinced now that we need weapons."

"Weapons?" Professor McGonagall raised an eyebrow. "You mean wands?"

...

Ollivanders Wand Shop.

Countless golden dust particles floated in the air, creating a fantastical and magnificent scene.

[NPC: Ollivander]

[Identity: Mad Alchemist/Swordsmith]

[Danger Level: High (Mental Instability)]

When an old man with silver-white eyes suddenly appeared from behind the shelf, Luo Wei almost threw a punch at him.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Rowe Baggins." Ollivander's voice was like the wind rustling through dry leaves. "I know your background is quite peculiar."

Luo Wei's heart skipped a beat. Did he know I was a time traveler?

No, he was probably just referring to my magical fluctuations.

"I need a weapon," Rowe said bluntly, "the kind that's long, hard, and can smash an orc's skull."

Professor McGonagall coughed lightly from the side: "Mr. Rowe, a wand is a precision instrument used for casting spells, not a stick."

"No, Professor, you don't understand..." Lowe shook his head, his face pale.

In his view, this wand shop was not a cozy little house at all, but an isolated island in the turbulent void. The golden dust floating around him appeared to him as twisted magical fissures.

He picked up the first wand (beechwood) that Ollivander handed him.

[Item: Fragile, withered branch]

Hardness: F

The light, flimsy feel of it made him uneasy. In this world filled with "monsters" and "crises," holding a withered branch that could break at any moment was like walking naked into a lion's cage.

"It's too light, it doesn't feel safe." Rowe's voice trembled. "I need one that I can feel the weight in my hand. If... if my magic fails, at least I can still use it to hit people."

Ollivander's eyes lit up. He seemed to have encountered a knowledgeable "warrior".

"In that case, try this. Blackthorn plum wood, unicorn hair, twelve inches. This is a wand with extremely combat-oriented properties."

Luo Wei took it.

Heavy. Rough.

The staff was jet black, with natural burls and textures remaining on its surface. The moment he held it in his hand, the tangible feel finally calmed his wildly beating heart a little.

This is more than just a magic wand; it's his only lifeline in this crazy, hallucinatory world.

[Item: Blackthorn Plum Wood Battle Staff]

[Quality: Excellent (Rare)]

Physical Attack: 10-15

Hardness: S (comparable to refined iron)

【Special Feature: Block Rate +15%】

[Description: This is exactly what you wanted. Forget about using it for levitation spells, just smash the enemy's knees.]

Unlike ordinary young wizards who wave their wands and anticipate sparks, Rowe did not.

He gripped the cane handle with both hands, chopped it down sharply, creating a whistling sound, and then slammed it heavily onto the counter.

"Bang!"

The vase on the counter shattered instantly. The wand remained unscathed, and was even trembling slightly.

"Perfect." Rowe stroked the rough blade of the staff, a glint of fanaticism in his eyes. "This feels like a fine sword."

Professor McGonagall: "..."

Ollivander: "..."

"A very...unique way to use it! Professor, remember to pay for it." Ollivander's lips twitched as he spoke, "This wand has chosen you. Blackthorn wands usually belong to wizards, regardless of good or evil, who are destined to experience countless battles."

"Just as I wished." Lowe pulled out seven Galleons and slammed them on the table. "Is that enough money?"

With the "sword" in hand, the next step is armor.

At the Madame Malkin's Robe Shop, Lowe made an even more outrageous request.

"Madam, I would like a layer of leather sewn into the lining of this robe," Rowe gestured. "Dragon hide would be best, but cowhide will do if that's not available."

"Why?" Madam Malkin asked, bewildered. "Hogwarts is warm, we don't need..."

"For protection against stabs," Rowe said seriously. "You never know when an arrow might come from behind. Also, I want to buy these dragon-skin gloves; I need two pairs to sew together as arm guards."

Just as Mrs. Malkin was wondering if this new student had paranoia, the curtain in the changing room was drawn back.

A red-haired girl came out. She was wearing a slightly oversized black robe and had a gentle smile on her face.

"Um, if you want protection against punctures, I think a thicker wool sweater might be more comfortable," the girl interjected shyly.

Luo Wei turned his head.

[Target scanned: Human girl]

[Real Name: Susan Bornes]

[Faction: Rohan Commoners]

[Affection Level: Curious]

"A wool sweater won't stop an orc's scimitar, ma'am," Rowe replied solemnly. "On the battlefield, comfort is the privilege of the dead."

Susan paused for a moment, then burst out laughing.

"Are you Muggle-born? You're funny. My name is Susan, Susan Bornes."

"Love. Love Baggins." Love didn't shake hands, but gave a slight bow. "May your sword always be sharp."

Susan laughed even harder. She thought the boy was a bit strange, but he was quite good-looking, and the way he talked nonsense with a straight face was actually kind of cute.

Professor McGonagall stood at the shop entrance, watching this scene, and shook her head helplessly.

"Alright, Rowe. After we buy clothes, we'll go to the bookstore. Remember, don't try to buy any banned books."

"I understand, Lady of Light." Rowe tucked the Blackthorn Plum wand back into his belt, patted the thickened robe he had just bought, and said, "All I need is a book about the Middle-earth Monsters Encyclopedia, oh, I mean, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."
