Chapter 80 Illusionary Power, Let's Go Find the Giant Spider!

Chapter 81 Illusionary Power, Let's Go Find the Giant Spider!

As night deepened, the fire in the Gryffindor common room gradually died down.

Rowe was sitting cross-legged on the edge of Harry's bed.

He didn't go back to Hufflepuff's basement today; he used a little trick to fool Percy on night patrol and sneaked into the dormitory.

On this night when the "Nine Commandments for Humanity" are most active, he must stay by the side of those who uphold the commandments.

"Aren't you sure you don't need to go back to sleep, Rowe?" Ron yawned, peeking out from under the covers. "What if Professor McGonagall finds you here..."

"sleep?"

"Only the dead sleep when the Dark Lord's eyes are on us, Sam. The Nine Ringwraiths are most powerful at night, and I must make sure Harry isn't dragged away by them in his sleep."

Harry ignored their conversation. He was sitting on the bed, flipping through the black diary by the dim candlelight. He was mesmerized by it, his eyes yearning to know the "secret," just like Gollum's longing to know where his "treasure" was back then.

"What are you writing?" Luo Wei suddenly asked.

"I don't know," Harry muttered, his quill flying across the paper. "I wrote Hagrid. I wanted to ask it if it knew anything about what happened fifty years ago. I wanted to know if Hagrid was..."

From Luo Wei's system perspective, the diary suddenly erupted with an invisible black vortex. A bottomless black hole connected directly to another dimension—the Netherworld.

"Harry!" Rowe jumped up.

But it was too late. Harry's body suddenly stiffened. His eyes lost focus, becoming empty and lifeless, and he seemed to fall straight backward.

"Merlin's beard!" Ron exclaimed, jumping out of bed. "What happened to him? Did he faint?"

Ron reached out to shake Harry's shoulder, but Rowe's hand gripped his wrist tightly.

"Don't touch him!" Rowe shouted sternly.

At this moment, in Rowe's eyes, Harry's soul had already left his body and was being sucked into a small black cube along the black spiritual umbilical cord.

[Warning: Sauron's will is clashing with his]

Do not touch the physical body! External interference may cause the soul to become lost in the void!

"Is he...is he dead?" Ron asked, his voice trembling as he looked at Harry's rolled-back eyes.

"Not yet." Lowe quickly grabbed a glass of cold water from the bedside table, and with his other hand pulled a feather that had fallen from Hedwig's body from under the pillow. "His soul is wandering in the Netherworld. He's watching... he's watching what happened in the past. It's an illusion the crystal orb is showing him."

"We have to go and call Mrs. Pomfrey!" Ron said hastily, trying to put on his shoes.

"It's too late." Rowe stared intently at Harry's face. "This is a battle of wills. If he can withstand the gaze of the Evil Eye, he will return. If not..."

Rowe didn't finish speaking, but simply gripped the glass of cold water in his hand tighter. Fragments of memories flashed through his mind—remnants of the transmigrator's past. He remembered this scene: Harry would see Hagrid being arrested, and the spider escaping.

But he dared not fully trust these memories. In this drastically altered world, who knew if Riddle might show Harry something even more terrifying? Like Sauron's army?

Time ticked by. Harry's breathing was steady, but his eyeballs were darting wildly beneath his eyelids, clearly still going through a mental breakdown. Suddenly, Harry twitched violently.

"Now!"

Rowe was not at all surprised to splash the glass of cold water on Harry's face.

"Wow!"

Harry sat up abruptly, panting heavily, his clothes soaked.

"Harry!" Ron rushed over. "Are you alright? You scared us to death!"

Harry wiped the water from his face, his eyes still filled with shock and fear. He looked at Rowe, then at Ron, as if still trying to figure out where he was.

"I saw it..." Harry gasped. "I was sucked in... fifty years ago... I saw who opened the Chamber of Secrets."

Rowe handed him a towel, his eyes sharp: "What did you see, Frodo? Who did you see inside the crystal sphere?"

Harry took a deep breath, his voice trembling. "It's Hagrid. Rubeus Hagrid."

Ron's mouth dropped open in disbelief: "Hagrid? That's impossible! Hagrid may like to keep monsters, but he won't kill anyone!"

He even treats a timid dog like Toothpick like a treasure!

Harry clutched his hair in anguish. "But I saw it with my own eyes! That Tom Riddle guy caught him. Hagrid has a giant spider... in the castle dungeons..."

"A spider?" Lowe raised an eyebrow.

His headache returned. The fragments of memory that had been suppressed by the system began to attack his brain relentlessly.

[Memory fragments are being reassembled...]

Hagrid... the spider... Aragog...

The real killer... the basilisk... Riddle...

"Damn it!" Lowe rubbed his temples, his expression contorted. He knew the truth, or rather, the truth was known in his "mad" mind.

"This is unreasonable," Luo Wei said, enduring his headache.

"But I saw it with my own eyes..." Harry argued.

"What you're seeing is what the crystal is trying to make you see!" Rowe abruptly interrupted him. "Think about it, Harry! Use your brain, not your eyes!"

Rowe stopped, turned around, and stared intently at Harry. "Who is Hagrid? He's a half-giant, with Bewyn blood. He's the kind of big, goofy guy who'd carry you home if you were hurt. Although he does have a strange fetish for things with too many legs or teeth..."

"But he's not a schemer!" Rowe's voice rose a few decibels. "Ogres might smash things out of stupidity, but they wouldn't orchestrate a serial murder spanning fifty years. Hagrid, being so straightforward, if he really wanted to kill, he'd use his fists, not hide in the shadows writing threatening letters or controlling some monster to petrify people!"

"But Riddle caught him..."

"Riddle!" Rowe sneered, a hint of disdain flashing in his eyes. "That guy who portrayed himself as the perfect victim in his diary? That guy with an ordinary hobbit name who exudes the aura of the Nine Ringwraiths?"

"I know who he is..." Rowe suddenly whispered, his eyes becoming somewhat unfocused. "I know what that name represents. Tom Riddle... Voldemort... the incarnation of Sauron..."

"What are you talking about, Rowe?" Ron shrank back in fright. "The mysterious man?"

“That was him when he was young.” Rowe pointed to the diary, his fingers trembling slightly. “That’s what he looked like before he became that big-eyed guy. He’s lying, Harry. This is typical Grimaldi-style frame-up.”

"This is a trap." Rowe walked over and took the diary from Harry's hands, this time being more careful, holding the spine with only two fingers. "That Tom Riddle, he showed you this not to tell you the truth, but to make you doubt your friends. Clever talkers are masters of sowing discord. He wants to isolate you. Because when the Fellowship of the Ring falls apart, that's when the Eye of the Demon wins."

Harry fell silent. He remembered the cake Hagrid had given him, and how indignant Hagrid had been on his behalf.

"You mean... Riddle is lying? That spider isn't the killer?" Harry asked uncertainly.

"The spider may not be the killer, but it's definitely a witness." Rowe tossed the diary back to Harry. "Hagrid did keep spiders. But he was just protecting a misunderstood creature."

Luo Wei walked to the window, looked at the dark night sky outside, and his eyes turned crazy.

"Since Riddle wants us to believe Hagrid did it, then let's go ask the person involved." Rowe turned around. "Not Hagrid, but the spider."

"Wh...what?" Ron's face turned deathly pale. "A spider? You mean we're going to find a giant spider from fifty years ago?"

“That’s right, Sam.” Rowe pulled out his frying pan and waved it in the air. “Looks like we’ll have to prepare for an expedition to Mirkwood (Forbidden Forest). Hopefully, you all have your antidotes ready, because that’s Shelob territory.”
