Chapter 86 is too much, reinforcements are here!
The enormous creature was revealed in its entirety.
It had the body of an elephant, with gray-black bristles standing upright like steel needles. And on that enormous head, eight milky-white eyes stared lifelessly into the void—it was blind.
[BOSS Unit: Aragog]
[Status: Hungry/Angry/Blind]
[System Warning: You are facing a direct descendant of Shi Luo]
"This is... Hagrid's friend?" Ron's voice sounded like someone was choking him; he was gripping Harry's robes tightly, his whole body trembling violently.
"If it's a friend, then its way of treating guests is truly unique." Luo Wei held up the shiny bottle.
"Are you Hagrid's friend?" Harry took a step forward, his heart pounding, but he had to find out. "Hagrid's in trouble. Someone says he opened the Chamber of Secrets."
The giant blind spider made a clicking sound, as if it were mocking the creature.
"The one who took Hagrid away..." Aragog's voice was like wind passing through withered bones, "That was a long time ago. Hagrid was a good man, he protected me and raised me... but that monster, that ancient horror that lived in the castle, is the natural enemy of our spider race."
"So it wasn't you?" Harry asked urgently. "The monster that killed the girl wasn't you?"
"It wasn't me!" Aragog angrily pounded his large claw. "Even mentioning that name makes my children tremble! It's a fear we can't bear to look at!"
"I knew it!" Lowe slapped his thigh, the sound echoing loudly in the silent clearing. "I knew my guess was right! It was that wingless dragon! It was that worm from the ground!"
Harry and Ron stared at him in surprise.
"Wait, Rowe..." Harry's voice was a little hoarse, "the ancient giant worm you kept talking about from underground...you're not talking nonsense? You knew it was it all along?"
"I've been warning you all!" Rowe waved the glowing bottle excitedly. "I sensed it since Halloween night! Those two sounds you heard, Harry! That was it crawling through the walls! I told you it was Smaug's whispers, but you all just thought I was crazy!"
Ron's mouth dropped open in disbelief: "Merlin's beard...we thought it was...you know, just typical chuunibyou episodes."
"That's a prophecy! It's a knight-errant's intuition!" Rowe puffed out his chest, despite his robes being covered in cobwebs.
[Clues confirmed: Ancient horror = Basilisk]
[Intelligence verified: The previous theory of "underground demonic insects" was correct]
[Closed-loop logical chain: Harry's Parseltongue + fear of spiders + Rowe's prediction]
"Alright, the puzzle is finally complete." Rowe pulled the still-dazed Harry aside, speaking rapidly, "Now that we've confirmed the BOSS's true form, our current equipment is completely inadequate. We must retreat and go back to devise a dragon-slaying plan!"
"Thank you," Harry said to Aragog, his eyes becoming complicated. "We'll find a way to get Hagrid out. So now..."
"Leave?" Aragog suddenly said. "I don't think you can leave."
The clicking sounds around them suddenly intensified, and countless greedy eyes lit up in the darkness.
"My children obey my commands and do not harm Hagrid," Aragog's voice turned cold, "but I cannot refuse them the fresh meat offered to them. Especially such tender, such magical meat."
"I knew it!" Lowe cursed. "Never trust anything with multiple legs! All they think about is eating!"
"Prepare for battle!" Rowe suddenly shielded Harry and Ron behind him, and the frying pan in his hand made a loud "clang," deterring several small spiders that were trying to sneak up on him.
"But...there's too much!" Ron looked at the black tide surging up around him in despair.
"Don't be afraid, Sam." Rowe's voice suddenly became incredibly calm, even tinged with a hint of madness. "Since they like the darkness, then we'll give them some real light."
He pulled the small, glowing glass bottle from his pocket. The light inside had now reached its peak, like a small sun about to explode.
Lo Wei took a deep breath, raised the bottle high in his hand, and struck a perfectly standard pose, as if he were praying to a god.
"May this light guide you in the darkness!" Rowe roared out his classic line, "Earendil's Light!"
The next second, he forcefully crushed a tiny runestone attached to the back of the bottle.
"Buzz—!"
A blinding white light burst forth in an instant. It was more than just light; it was a physical impact like a flashbang.
"Hiss hiss hiss—!"
Countless piercing screams echoed all around. The spiders, who had lived in darkness for so long, had their compound eyes instantly burned by the intense light, writhing and convulsing in agony on the ground. Even the blind Aragog let out a painful roar due to the sudden stimulation of the bright light.
[Critical Hit: Light Attribute Damage]
[Effect: Mass blindness/fear]
"Now! Run!"
Luo Wei shoved the two still-stunned people aside and began waving the frying pan in his hand like a windmill.
"Get out of here! You ugly insects!"
"Clang!" A spider that tried to stop it was smashed away by the frying pan, its dark green juice splattering everywhere.
"Keep up with me! Don't fall behind!" Lowe was like a human bulldozer, carving a bloody path through the spider swarm. Every swing of his sword was accompanied by the sound of bones cracking, and his ferocity even made the spiders on both sides instinctively retreat.
Harry and Ron stumbled along behind, Ron even waving his brass kettle with his eyes closed, emitting a series of unintelligible screams.
"Stop yelling! Save your energy for running away!" Luo Wei kicked away a spider dangling from a tree. "This isn't over yet! The boss is still behind us!"
Sure enough, a tremendous roar came from behind. Aragog, having regained his mobility, roared angrily, commanding countless offspring to surge towards the three tiny prey.
"We're going to die here!" Ron cried out.
"No way!" Rowe pulled the last few Molotov cocktails from his pocket, bit off the stoppers with his teeth, and said, "Try Saruman's gunpowder!"
He turned around and forcefully threw the Molotov cocktail at the area where the pursuers were most concentrated.
"boom!"
Flames shot into the air, instantly forming a wall of fire that temporarily halted the spread of the black tide.
"Run! Now!" Rowe roared, pulling the two of them as they raced toward the edge of the Forbidden Forest.
But there were just too many spiders. They crawled out of the treetops, from underground, and even leaped over the firewalls. The encirclement was tightening again.
Just at this moment of despair, a familiar engine roar, like that of a wild beast, sounded again.
"Beep beep—!"
Two bright headlights pierced the darkness; it was the Weasley family's flying car, covered in mud and dead branches, charging into the battlefield like a heavily armored tank.
"Saviors have arrived!" Rowe's eyes lit up. "I knew this wild horse wouldn't abandon its rider so easily!"
