After being reborn, I gained a childhood sweetheart who appeared out of nowhere.
Practice Chapter 10?
The group parted ways at the crossroads. Lin Chuan and Wang Xu, the two day students, went to the classroom for their lunch break. As for the boarding students, they could go back to their dormitories for a nap. Although Chen Xiyu had already moved out, her original bed was still empty, so she could go back and use it for a nap.
As for the community management auntie, she can easily get away with it by saying a few nice words, since that's her advantage.
Lin Chuan went to the classroom and rested for a while. Soon it was 2 p.m., so he got up, stretched, and called Wang Xu to go to the playground together.
When they arrived at the playground, they were somewhat surprised to find that the shady spot where they had stood that morning was now occupied by students from other classes.
Lin Chuan squinted and looked at them. They seemed to be students from Class 3 of Grade 11 who were originally training next door.
"What's going on? Aren't the training positions already assigned?" Wang Xu said.
The students from Class 5 who arrived early found their seats already taken and didn't know what to do. They could only stand there dumbfounded until they saw Lin Chuan and walked over. "Class monitor, what should we do?"
Lin Chuan wanted to go up and negotiate, but at that moment, Instructor Liu arrived.
Instructor Liu spotted the occupied spot immediately, his gaze finally settling on the instructor of Class 3. He walked over and reminded him, "Old Zhang, your class is standing in the wrong place."
"Military training is pretty much the same everywhere," Instructor Zhang said with a smile. "The positions aren't even written with names on them."
They initially only divided the area into general sections, and this shady spot happened to be located at the boundary between Class 3 and Class 5. To be precise, there was no rule specifying whose it belonged to.
During morning military training, the students in Class 3 were extremely envious when they saw the students in Class 5 training under the shade of the trees.
"Old Zhang, what you said makes sense. How about we practice a bit, and if you win, you get that position?" Instructor Liu said.
"That's not the right approach. If the students in the class are fighting for the space, they should be the ones to do it themselves," Instructor Zhang said with a smile.
Instructor Liu gave a helpless, wry smile. "You rascal?"
"I have to beat you once, right?" Instructor Zhang said.
Watching the two instructors arguing, Wang Xu couldn't help but mutter, "These two instructors don't seem to get along very well?"
"You're wrong, they should have a good relationship," Lin Chuan said from the side.
"Huh?" Wang Xu was taken aback. "Not bad? How come I didn't see that?"
Lin Chuan glanced at him. "It's normal that you can't tell."
"Hey, this is blatant discrimination against me! I'm going to protest! I'm going to tell the teacher about you, the class monitor!" Wang Xu said indignantly.
"oh."
Instructor Zhang walked directly between the two classes and shouted, "Zhang Fu, step forward."
A boy with dark skin and a muscular build stepped out of the third class's line; he practically screamed "I'm a sports student!"
"Old Liu, how about this? Let's each send someone from our two classes to compete, and whoever wins gets this field," Instructor Zhang said with a smile. "Or is your class too scared to accept?"
This is the most basic form of reverse psychology, but it's ineffective during military training because no instructor is willing to admit that their students are incompetent.
Instructor Liu turned directly to his class and asked, "Who among you is confident you can come?"
The boys in the class looked at each other, not because they didn't want to bring glory to the class, but because the person opposite them looked like a sports student, which seemed a bit difficult to deal with.
Each class in their first year of high school has several sports students. These sports students generally don't attend academic classes, but they do participate in military training. Ironically, their fifth class only has two art students and no sports students.
Isn't this awkward?
If someone were to step forward now, losing would not only mean losing the class's training ground, but also public humiliation. At this point, no one spoke up.
Instructor Liu frowned slightly, just about to say something more.
"Report!" someone shouted at that moment.
The students all looked over and saw that it was their class monitor. They immediately thought, "This really is the class monitor. He's so tough. He still dares to stand up at a time like this."
Wang Xu looked at his deskmate and immediately gave him a thumbs up. He thought to himself, if his deskmate had been that assertive before, how come he couldn't win over Chen Xueting?
"Squad leader, step forward," Instructor Liu shouted.
Lin Chuan also stepped out of the group.
"Dude, you're all fair and delicate, wanna spar with me?" Zhang Fu asked, followed by a burst of laughter from the boys in the opposite class.
The boys in Class 5 instantly felt like they were being mocked, but they were also somewhat helpless. These sports students did speak with great confidence during military training, and they couldn't very well shout, "If you're so tough, let's compete in academics!"
"Would you like to practice?" Instructor Zhang asked.
Lin Chuan remained calm as he continued, "We definitely need to practice, but it's Class Three that requested the practice, so what should we compete in? Shouldn't we choose? That would be fairer."
Zhang Fu was taken aback and looked at his instructor.
"What do you want to train? Running or push-ups? Just pick one?" Instructor Zhang looked at Lin Chuan, who was a little over 1.7 meters tall, which was quite tall for a freshman. After all, the next few years would be crucial for growing taller.
She has a well-proportioned and slender figure, fair skin, and a good physique. She's a good candidate for a ceremonial guard, but compared to the physical education students in her class, she doesn't seem very convincing.
"Instructor Zhang, isn't this a class-wide competition? Just having two people run laps and do push-ups is so unskilled," Lin Chuan pointed to the basketball court next to the playground. "During our break, how about each class finds a few people to go to the basketball court and have a basketball game?"
Zhang Fu was slightly taken aback and did not answer. He also knew how to play basketball. After all, he would play with his friends from time to time. With his physical fitness, it would be hard for him not to know how.
But basketball is a five-on-five game, and since it's five-on-five, he wasn't that confident.
"If you don't dare, then forget it," Instructor Liu said at this moment.
"Who's afraid? Then let's have a match during the next long break," Instructor Zhang immediately responded.
After the decision was made, the two classes tacitly agreed not to conduct military training in any shady spot, but instead returned to their original positions to begin the afternoon training. Soon it was time for their first break.
Lin Chuan had just sat down when Instructor Liu walked over.
"Class monitor, how's it going? Are you confident you can beat Class 3 in basketball?" he asked.
"No," Lin Chuan said, "I don't know how well their class plays basketball."
Instructor Liu was taken aback.
"I just feel that we definitely can't compete with Class 3 in physical training, so we'll have a better chance in basketball," Lin Chuan said. "If I remember correctly, there should be quite a few boys in our class who can play basketball."
Because there is no 100% success rate in this kind of thing, all you can do is choose the one with the highest probability.
He recalled that when he introduced himself, many boys said they could play basketball, including Wang Xu. So, choosing basketball was the best solution after a brief consideration.
"Okay," Instructor Liu understood the point. "Then pick a few people, and after the next training session, we'll have a 30-minute break in the big room, and we'll practice with their class."
Lin Chuan stood up and looked at his classmates. "Who in our class plays basketball? Raise your hand?"
The boys in Class 5 looked at each other, seemingly hesitant.
There are indeed quite a few boys who can play basketball, but at this time, it's a match between the two classes to choose players. Raising your hand means you need to have some confidence in your skills and be able to withstand the pressure. If you lose, you'll feel like you've let down the class and you'll lose the entire training ground.
The boys suddenly felt pressured, and no one dared to raise their hands.
"Not everyone in Class 3 can play basketball, so feel free to raise your hands," Lin Chuan paused, then deliberately added, "I don't quite believe it. The boys in our class are worse than them."
After he finished speaking, a boy raised his hand. Lin Chuan looked at the three boys and saw that Liu Hao was among them.
"Excuse me, what are your names?"
"Wang Guohua".
"Liu Lei".
Three people raised their hands, plus Lin Chuan himself, making four people in total. A standard basketball game has five players. He waited a while longer, but still no one raised their hand. He then looked directly at Wang Xu, "Old Wang, don't you know how to play too?"
"Huh?" Wang Xu was taken aback, not expecting to be chosen. He whispered, "I know a little bit."
"That's good. With you, there are five of us," Lin Chuan turned to Instructor Liu, "we're all here."
Instructor Liu nodded. "You guys need to work harder. You can't lose to anyone else but the class led by Lao Zhang. Otherwise, I'll give you a good scolding when you get back."
The people who signed up all gave wry smiles.
Lin Chuan knew that this Instructor Zhang and his class's instructors had probably practiced together quite a bit before. He didn't care, but he guessed that the boys might feel pressured and not perform well.
"Of course, if we win, I'll treat your whole class to ice cream," Instructor Liu continued.
At this moment, cheers erupted from the previously somewhat subdued classroom.
