After being reborn, I gained a childhood sweetheart who appeared out of nowhere.
Chapter 3 Indeed, an old friend has returned.
In the classroom, Lin Chuan casually found a seat and sat down. The girl who had just greeted him was sitting alone at the front. Her seat was by the window. She was doing nothing, just sitting there staring blankly out the window, but many boys in the class were secretly watching her.
At this moment, a middle-aged man walked in. He stood directly on the podium, glanced at the students below, and only after confirming that everyone in the class was present did he cough lightly.
"Class, please be quiet. Let me introduce myself. I am your first-year high school homeroom teacher, Xue Ren." The teacher wrote his name on the blackboard.
The classroom gradually quieted down.
Lin Chuan looked at the man with some surprise, because wasn't this the male teacher he had just met during the report?
There were only three to five teachers responsible for registering all the first-year high school students, but there were more than twenty classes in the grade, and the teacher who was supposed to register happened to be his homeroom teacher? I don't know whether to call this luck good or bad.
"We're just having a small class meeting today, and there's not much else to do afterward, so let's not rush. Everyone can start by introducing themselves and getting to know each other briefly." Xue Ren pointed to the girl sitting in the first group, "This student, let's start with you."
She was a girl with neat, shoulder-length hair. When her name was called, she wasn't intimidated. Instead, she stood up and asked with a smile, "Teacher, what should I say?"
"A name, a hobby, anything is fine," Xue Ren said.
"Hello everyone, my name is Zhao Jiajia. I usually read novels and watch anime, and that's about all I like, including movies and photography. There are many things I enjoy, though. If anyone is interested, feel free to contact me and we can share our interests!" Zhao Jiajia said with a smile. "Thank you everyone."
As the first person to introduce himself, he was quite poised and confident, and a round of applause rang out in the classroom at just the right moment.
"Hello everyone, my name is Liu Hao. I'm very happy to be in the same class as you. I have a wide range of interests. Besides reading, I also like playing sports like basketball," the boy said in a loud voice as he stood up. "It's nice to meet you all, and I hope we can all become friends in the future."
Lin Chuan glanced at the boy. He did have some impression of him because he was his class monitor in junior high school. Back then, the two of them liked Chen Xueting and had some minor conflicts because of it.
I didn't expect to be in the same class at the No. 1 Middle School; I hadn't noticed it before.
"Hey big guy, my name is Wang Guowei."
"I am Chen Shi."
"I am……"
The introductions from the students were quite simple. They basically just said their names and briefly mentioned their hobbies. The girls were generally more artistic, talking about things like reading and listening to music, while the boys were mostly interested in sports, such as basketball, with a few occasionally mentioning reading novels or comics.
"My name is Cheng Xue. I like music and painting. Thank you everyone," the girl said.
A simple self-introduction was enough to draw the attention of many people in the classroom.
The girl had been sitting in an inconspicuous corner since she entered the classroom, and only now was she noticed. She was wearing denim shorts, a pure white low-cut T-shirt, and had her hair in a high ponytail. Her skin was as cold as snow, and her voice was as cold as snow.
After a few more students introduced themselves, it was Lin Chuan's turn. He stood up and said, "Hello everyone, my name is Lin Chuan. I don't have any particular hobbies. I'm very happy to be in the same class as you all. Thank you."
After a brief self-introduction, he sat down and continued to listen to his classmates' self-introductions in a half-hearted manner until the girl who had just greeted him stood up.
Lin Chuan then raised his head again.
The girl spoke slowly, her voice clear and pleasant, "Hello everyone, my name is Chen Xiyu. I don't have any particular hobbies. I'm very happy to be in the same class as you all, thank you."
This brief self-introduction was clearly plagiarized from Lin Chuan, but the class still erupted in enthusiastic applause, as if it had just been a brilliant speech. Even Wang Xu next to him was clapping along.
"Chen Xiyu..." Lin Chuan murmured softly. Although he couldn't remember what the girl looked like, he still remembered the name. It was indeed an old friend.
After all the students in the class had finished introducing themselves, Xue Ren continued, "Now that everyone has a basic impression, let's elect a temporary class monitor."
"Teacher Xue, what is the job of this temporary class monitor?" Zhao Jiajia asked, raising her hand.
"First, after the class meeting, the class monitor needs to take everyone to pick up their school uniforms and military training uniforms. Also, during military training, they need to cooperate with the teachers to manage the class," Xue Ren said. "Then anyone who has an idea can come up on stage to volunteer, and finally we can vote in the class to decide."
Not many people are willing to run for class monitor right after meeting someone in high school, since it's not like they're introducing themselves, or rather, some students' voices tremble when they do introduce themselves.
So after waiting for a few minutes, only Liu Hao and Zhao Jiajia had registered. The two of them, one male and one female, stood confidently on the stage.
Xue Ren glanced at the other students in the class, but his gaze finally landed on Lin Chuan, whom he had just noticed.
"Aren't you going to elect class monitor?" he asked.
Lin Chuan asked with some confusion, "Teacher Xue, is this mandatory?"
To be honest, he wasn't interested in being a class monitor. He used to have to manage people and things at the company, and it was pointless to go back to high school and have to do this. Besides, high school class monitors don't actually have much power, but they do a lot of miscellaneous tasks.
If I really want to do something, I might as well join a student council.
Unless someone is interested in experiencing being a class monitor, or someone like Liu Hao who clearly likes to show off, not many people will choose to be class monitor.
"It's not mandatory, but two people aren't enough, so why don't you come up and choose one too?" Xue Ren smiled. "Besides, you're always willing to help your classmates, aren't you?"
Lin Chuan understood now. This was a reference to what he had done while reporting. He felt like he had been caught doing something "bad." There was nothing he could do but smile and walk up to the podium.
"You may begin," Xue Ren said to the people on the stage.
"Ladies first," Liu Hao said with a gentlemanly smile to Zhao Jiajia beside him.
"Thank you." Zhao Jiajia nodded and, without further ado, walked directly to the podium, cleared her throat, and said, "Hello everyone, I'm Zhao Jiajia, and I'd like to run for the temporary class monitor of our Class 5."
"Although I've never been a class monitor, I served as the academic representative for a few years in junior high, so I have some experience and am confident that I can provide assistance to everyone during my time as class monitor. Therefore, I hope you can elect me. Thank you."
After Zhao Jiajia finished speaking, she stepped off the stage immediately, appearing very decisive and efficient. When it was just Liu Hao and Lin Chuan left, Liu Hao didn't stand on ceremony and went straight up on stage to begin his speech.
Having been a class monitor in junior high, Liu Hao spoke quite well, and he had actually memorized his lines the night before, so he was very confident about his role as class monitor.
From the perspective of an "adult" like Lin Chuan, Liu Hao's speech was clearly more "professional" than Zhao Jiajia's. However, being too "professional" in high school is not necessarily a good thing.
After he finished speaking, Liu Hao even gave a slight bow and said, "Thank you very much for listening."
After stepping off the stage, he glanced at Lin Chuan out of the corner of his eye, and the corner of his mouth unconsciously curled up slightly.
These new classmates don't know what Lin Chuan's situation was like in junior high school, but he does. His academic performance was average, his interpersonal skills were average, and he was a marginal figure with little presence in the class. It was already a surprise that he was able to get into the No. 1 High School in the city, let alone become the class monitor.
Actually, although the two had some conflicts in junior high school, he wasn't really familiar with Lin Chuan. Liu Hao felt that as a good student, he wouldn't bother with such a troublesome student, but it seemed nice to see Lin Chuan make a fool of himself in the new class.
