"It didn't mean anything, I was just saying it offhand."

Zhang Shuai'an casually made a reference to the new Three Kingdoms, which naturally went unnoticed by anyone in this era.

He turned to Leah Winchester and said, "Mrs. Winchester, let's go sign the contract now."

"You can just call me Leah." Leah Winchester smiled and slowly stood up. "If you want it to be more convenient to film here, I actually suggest you register a company yourself."

"What do you mean by that?" Zhang Shuai'an asked.

Leah Winchester explained with a laugh, "Finding an American to register a company together allows you to enjoy some tax benefits. If you just list the film under Jiatong Company, you'll actually be charged more taxes. Registering a company and then listing it under is actually better, and you can also list it under other companies."

Zhang Shuai'an was unaware of the intricacies involved, but he was certain he would return to Hollywood in the future, so registering a company there would be convenient.

Jiatong Company is, after all, just a subsidiary of Jiahe, and the person in charge on the surface is Chen Xikang, who may not be as fully supportive of him as Zou Wenhuai.

"Then why not you?" Zhang Shi'an said, pointing to Leah Winchester. "You'll register a film company with me. I'll own 95% of the shares, and you'll contribute your technology and a portion of your salary—that'll be 5% for you."

Leah Winchester hadn't expected Zhang Shuai'an to drag her into this, but it wasn't necessarily a bad thing for her.

Yu Sijia gently reminded him, "Boss, you only met this woman today. She might not be reliable. Maybe you should make another decision."

Whether it's reliable or not is a question that's easy to answer.

Find an evening to have an intimate conversation with her, use the "Unwavering Love" and "Love Grows Over Time" skills on her, and you might even be able to activate the "Ultimate White Moonlight" skill, at which point you can guarantee her unwavering loyalty.

As for whether it will break up other people's families!

What kind of talk is this? When has Zhang Shuai'an ever broken up someone else's family?

Zhao Yazhi and Huang Hanwei, and Di Bona and Xie Xian are all quite loving, still living happily together.

Leah Winchester considered for a moment, then nodded: "Okay, I agree. However, you'll need to give me some time to prepare the registration information."

"Okay, thank you, Liya!" Zhang Shuai'an used his [Charming Eyes] and [Ultimate White Moonlight] skills.

Leah Winchester was completely stunned; her originally fair and snow-white skin instantly turned flushed.

"I...I'll take my leave now." She couldn't bear the gaze, feeling that if she stayed any longer, she would be captivated by the other person.

"God, how can there be such a succubus-like man? No, he's the devil, clearly seducing me! I'm going to hell!"

She hurriedly left the coffee shop, her face burning hot, and she felt a slight loss of control over the moisture in her body.

"Boss, what's wrong with her?" Yu Sijia looked at the woman's strange walking posture and her legs slightly clenched, and asked blankly.

Zhang Shuai'an glanced at Yu Sijia, then smiled and said, "What do you think?"

Yu Sijia immediately felt as if she had been struck by lightning, and trembled violently: "Boss, you, you can't look at me like that, it's terrifying!"

Zhang Shuai'an withdrew his gaze, pinched his chin, and fell into deep thought.

That night.

Brigitte Lin and Chin Hsiang-Lin went to San Francisco and met with director Tan Chia-Ming and screenwriter Chen Yun-Wen.

They booked a hotel for the two of them there, and then hosted a welcome dinner for them at the Shangyuan Hotel.

After the meal, everyone found a quiet place to chat.

Tan Jiaming excitedly grasped Lin Qingxia's hand and said, "I've admired Ms. Lin for so long, and now I'm finally meeting you in person! I'm your most loyal fan, and I've always wanted to work with you, but I never had the chance. Now, finally..."

"My wish has come true."

Lin Qingxia looked slightly embarrassed. She hadn't expected Director Tan to be so enthusiastic, and she felt a little awkward about pulling her hand back directly.

Chen Yunwen said with a smile, "I also admire Miss Lin very much. This script was tailor-made for you and I guarantee it will help you change your previous image in romance films."

Following up on this, Brigitte Lin withdrew her hand: "Then thank you in advance, Screenwriter Chen. May I take a look at the script first?"

"Of course." Chen Yunwen beckoned to his assistant, "Bring me my bag."

The assistant came running over, carrying a black designer handbag.

Chen Yunwen opened her bag, rummaged through it a couple of times, and took out a script: "This is it."

As she handed over the script, she smiled and said, "Last year, my script 'The Madman' helped Zhao Yazhi shed her long-standing elegant and intellectual image, allowing her to successfully transform her career. After that, she was able to take on a wider range of roles; otherwise, why would 'Shanghai Bund' have cast her as the female lead?"

That's only half true.

Lin Qingxia had never worked in the Hong Kong film industry, but she knew that the screenplay for "Shanghai Bund" was written by Zhang Shuai'an, and he played the male lead.

The script is called "Love Massacre," which literally translates to "Love Massacre," or simply "Love Killer."

Looking at the name, Brigitte Lin was a little confused, but she still carefully read through the script.

The story revolves around a female college student named Ivy studying in the United States. One day, her roommate Jov's brother, Fu Zhuzhong, comes to the United States on business and falls madly in love with Ivy after meeting her.

Ivy knew Fu was married, so she naturally rejected him outright. Fu, however, mistakenly believed that Ivy's rejection of his love was because he was married. So he returned to China, killed his wife, fled back to the United States, and confessed his feelings to Ivy again. But Ivy had never liked him in the first place, and of course, she was even less likely to like him now.

Fu Zhuzhong, consumed by love turned to hatred, decided to kill Ivy. He was determined to have her, and he even wanted to kill everyone in her sister's dormitory.

Finally, Fu Zhuzhong gave the knife to Ivy, which can be considered as indirectly dying at Ivy's hands and finding relief.

That's the story, with some other scenes interspersed throughout.

In fact, the biggest suspense in the script was that Fu Zhuzhong's family had a history of mental illness, which explained the situation. However, the film didn't handle it well at all, resulting in mediocrity.

After the movie was made, it had only two highlights: first, the art direction was very atmospheric, and second, Brigitte Lin looked beautiful in the film.

(Brigitte Lin in the 1981 film "Love Massacre")

After watching it, Brigitte Lin was filled with question marks.

Why did Fu Zhuzhong kill someone? And why did he ultimately commit suicide? Why did Ivy react that way?

The plot seems to offer an answer, but it feels forced and doesn't hold up enough for a movie, making the overall feel feel loose and fragmented.

The plot development is seriously illogical, and the story progression deviates somewhat from the main plot.

Lin Qingxia couldn't help but think of Zhang Shuai'an's "Blood Simple". The script was very solid. Even though it had some fancy tricks, after reading it from beginning to end, she quickly formed a rough idea in her mind.

"How about it? Isn't it amazing?" Chen Yunwen lit a cigarette and looked Lin Qingxia up and down.

Lin Qingxia put down the script and said politely, "It is indeed very well written—very impressive, but I didn't understand it very well."

Chen Yunwen laughed with a hint of pride: "It's normal if you don't understand it. The scripts I write are all very profound. It's okay if you don't understand them at first. I will explain them to you little by little, and once I explain them clearly, you will know how well they are written."

"Qingxia, with screenwriter Chen involved, it's bound to be a masterpiece."

Qin Xianglin chuckled and said, "Besides, Director Tan has already secured investment. As long as you agree, filming can begin immediately. You'll play Ivy, and I'll play a role too. If we join forces again, we'll be invincible."

"This—I need to think about it for a few days," Lin Qingxia said hesitantly.

Now that she has better options, the inferior "Love Kill" naturally doesn't catch her eye.
