Chapter 153 How could I possibly like someone like Zhang Shuai'an? (2nd update, please subscribe)

"What do you mean by that!"

Lin Qingxia's expression immediately changed, and she glared angrily at Qin Xianglin!

"Ever since Zhang Shuai'an came, all you talk about is him!"

Qin Xianglin's face was full of anger and resentment. "To you, he's just a stranger. I'm your boyfriend. You should talk to me more, look at me more, and consider my feelings more."

"I've never admitted that you're my boyfriend!"

A cold glint appeared in Brigitte Lin's eyes. "You took it upon yourself to leak it to the media. I didn't deny it, only to give you face. Don't really think that I, Brigitte Lin, have no other men besides you!"

"Fine, you've finally told the truth!" Qin Xianglin pointed at Lin Qingxia and said, "I knew you never really liked me. You only ever thought about Qin Han! Now even Zhang Shuai'an is more important to you than me!"

Lin Qingxia retorted, "I didn't! That's entirely your own imagination! I've only known Zhang Shuai'an for two days, and you insist on thinking that way? You're truly despicable!"

Qin Xianglin stared intently at Lin Qingxia, enunciating each word clearly: "You slept with him, didn't you?"

"Snapped!"

Lin Qingxia raised her hand and slapped him: "Get out of here!"

"You said it!" Qin Xianglin, also possessing a certain arrogance, roared, "You'll regret it!"

After saying that, he turned and left.

Lin Qingxia watched his departing figure, and surprisingly, she felt no sadness at all, which she found somewhat unbelievable.

Perhaps he finally saw through the true nature of this relationship!

As for Zhang Shuai'an, Lin Qingxia doesn't acknowledge that he holds any weight in her heart!

In particular, thinking about the scene last night where Zhang Shuai'an hugged Deng Lijun and almost kissed her, she felt only anger and contempt.

"Me, like someone like Zhang Shuai'an? No way!"

Lin Qingxia shook her head resolutely: "Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"

the other side.

"Achoo~!"

Zhang Shuai'an sneezed loudly.

Yu Sijia, who was standing nearby, handed over two tissues at the right moment and asked with concern, "Boss, did you catch a cold last night?"

"I'm perfectly healthy, there's no way I'd catch a cold." Zhang Shuai'an wiped his nose and said confidently, "It's probably some beautiful girl who's fallen for me again and is thinking about me right now."

Yu Sijia gave a disgusted look: "Disgusting, boss, you're too narcissistic!"

the next morning.

Jackie Chan specifically sought out Zhang Shuai'an for a talk, immediately asking, "Did you have a fight with Charlie and Qingxia?"

Zhang Shuai'an looked completely bewildered: "No. I haven't seen them since last night."

"Have there been any conflicts before?" Jackie Chan asked again.

"No." Zhang Shuai'an recalled the night Lin Qingxia caught him flirting with Deng Liyun, but it didn't seem like a conflict.

"That's strange!" Jackie Chan scratched his head, somewhat puzzled. "Charlie bought a plane ticket back to Hong Kong this morning and told me that from now on, it's either you or him, it's either you or him."

Zhang Shuai'an shrugged: "I've barely spoken to him, so I don't know why he said that."

"Did you go and try to woo Brigitte Lin?" Jackie Chan asked again.

"No, not at all." Jackie Chan frowned, his face full of confusion. "Then what's going on? Why does Charlie hate you so much?"

"I don't know, and I don't want to know." Zhang Shuai'an waved his hand. "I just want to get the crew together as soon as possible and start filming 'Blood Maze' quickly."

"Oh, by the way, Brigitte Lin asked me to tell you that she's agreed to act in your film!"

Jackie Chan's attention was immediately diverted, and he said, "She can even give you a 50% discount on your fee! Only HK$100,000. She turned down director Tan Jiaming's film for this one, so don't let her down."

Zhang Shi'an thought to himself: Why does this sound like they're entrusting the person to me?

However, he still nodded and said, "I understand, thank you, Brother Long."

"Why thank me? I didn't do anything."

Jackie Chan smiled and waved his hand, not taking credit at all, and said directly, "Make a good film. If it wins an award, it will be a source of honor for the Chinese people. Don't be discouraged if you don't win an award. Keep making commercial films, make enough money, and then try again."

Zhang Shuai'an then asked, "Brother Long, your film 'Killer Tycoon' was filmed in Texas, right?"

"No." Jackie Chan shook his head. "The story is set in Texas, but the filming location was Los Angeles."

Why are you asking this? Do you want to film in Texas? The people there are tough, not to be trifled with.

Zhang Shuai'an said, "Just asking casually."

"There's one more thing." Jackie Chan patted Zhang Shuai'an on the shoulder and said seriously, "The release date for 'Killer Tycoon' is set. It'll be showing in Los Angeles on September 5th. You have to come and support it."

Zhang Shuai'an smiled and replied, "Of course I'll be there."

Afterwards, the two chatted for a while and agreed to go to the Mysterious Paradise to take a shower that evening.

That evening, Zhang Shuai'an ordered Apollonius again at the park, but he didn't see Gabriel.

"Why isn't Monica here?" Zhang Shuai'an asked, actually wondering why Monica hadn't contacted him.

Apollonius gave a wry smile and said, "She probably won't be able to come again."

After saying that, she realized something was wrong and corrected herself, "You're mistaken. I'm Monica, and her name is Cindy."

"It doesn't matter. Actually, my name isn't Leo."

"9

Zhang Shuai'an smiled and waved his hand, then asked, "Why don't you continue telling me what happened to her?"

Apollonius also wanted to.

"Her mother is seriously ill and has been hospitalized."

She sighed softly and then said, "Her father borrowed money from gangsters at exorbitant interest rates. If he can't pay it back by the end of this month, she'll probably have to become a prostitute to pay it off."

Zhang Shuai'an was startled, but he didn't have any saintly sentiments. It was just that he had taken Monica's virginity no matter what, so if he could lend a hand, he would consider doing so.

He casually asked, "How much money does her family owe?"

"What, Leo, you want to be a hero and save the damsel in distress?" Apollonie chuckled, then said, "However, I advise you to give up that idea. Her father borrowed a full twelve thousand dollars, and he simply can't pay it back."

"Only twelve thousand dollars?"

Zhang Shuai'an muttered to himself, "I thought it was hundreds of thousands or even millions!"

"My God, isn't twelve thousand dollars a lot?" Apollonius exclaimed, her eyes wide with astonishment. "I probably couldn't save twelve thousand dollars even if I worked for ten years."

"Your salary here is quite high!" Zhang Shuai'an said, somewhat puzzled. "I remember last time, you and Monica earned several thousand dollars together."

"Do you think the amusement park owner is a philanthropist who doesn't take a cut?"

Apollonius shook his head: "That was the day I earned the most, more than three thousand dollars, but it was split 30/70 with the amusement park."

Zhang Shuai'an asked, "How come it's only 70%?"

"Seventy percent belongs to the park owner," Apollonius sighed, adding quietly, "Even getting thirty percent depends on our manager's attitude."

Zhang Shuai'an said, "But nine hundred dollars a day isn't a small amount, is it?"

"How could I possibly work every day?" Apollonius began. "The park has rules: each girl can only work three days a week. The pay varies greatly; sometimes I don't even get half a dollar in tips. I also have to pay rent and student loans—"

When Zhang Shuai'an heard the term "student loan," he understood why she couldn't save money.

It's worth noting that it took Obama 21 years to pay off his student loans.

Zhang Shuai'an said, "Tell Monica to come to the conference room on the sixth floor of Jiatong Company in a few days."

"You really intend to help her?" Apollonius said, somewhat surprised. "That's twelve thousand dollars, no small sum. She might not be able to pay it off even after working for more than ten years."

"It's alright." Zhang Shuai'an waved his hand. "Just have her come find me. I'm actually a film director, and I'm starting a new film next month. Monica can play a small role in it."

Zhang Shuai'an wanted to help Monica partly out of goodwill, and partly because after he got the first kill on her last time, a blank entry appeared in the system.

These past few days, he has tried to activate this entry from time to time, but unfortunately, there is still no response.

He suspected that this entry was related to Monica, and since she didn't owe much money, it wouldn't be difficult to settle her debts for her.

If we can reconnect with her and activate this entry, that would be even better; then the ten thousand dollars would have been well spent.

If she's not of much use, we can just sign her into the company and let her work to pay off the debt.

Apollonius stared at Zhang Shuai'an's face for a long while, then suddenly grasped his hand: "Can I come to you too? I'm very good at my job, and my acting is pretty good too. If you like virgins, I have a few friends—"

"Stop, stop, stop!" Zhang Shuai'an interrupted her, "You can come together tomorrow. If you have any friends who want to act, you can call them over, but they'll need to audition."

"Great, that's wonderful!" Apollonius exclaimed excitedly. "Finally, I have a proper job. If I couldn't find a job, at least I wouldn't have to go to the San Fernando Valley to be harassed by strangers."

Zhang Shuai'an: "————"

Over the next few days, Leah Winchester efficiently handled the tedious initial preparations, such as company registration and script registration.

Zhang Shuai'an named his first film company, registered in Hollywood, "DreamWorksStudios".

That is, DreamWorks.

Yes, Zhang Shuai'an shamelessly plagiarized the ideas of Spielberg and two others.

"Boss, you've chosen a great name!"

Upon hearing the name, Leah Winchester couldn't help but praise Zhang Shuai'an.

Zhang Shuai'an smiled without saying a word, then he thanked Steven Spielberg.

As for the other two, Chuck Russell ultimately declined to work with Zhang Shuai'an, while Jon Ferrer signed the contract after consideration.

Zhang Shuai'an instructed Jon Finemae and Leah Winchester to recruit the rest of the cast and release audition notices for the remaining roles.

To ensure the audiovisual style of "Blood Simple," Zhang Shuan immediately thought of Zhang Shuping, who later became Wong Kar-wai's go-to editor and art director.

Wang Jiawei's film style was largely established by Zhang Shuping's artistic aesthetics.

And then there's Tan Jiaming. Although his directing skills aren't that great, his editing skills are quite good. He participated in the editing of Du Qifeng's two "Election" films, as well as Wong Kar-wai's "Days of Being Wild" and "Ashes of Time".

Zhang Shuai'an only mentioned these two people to Zou Wenhuai briefly; he left the specifics of how to contact them to Zou Wenhuai.

Zou Wenhuai has much more influence than him, so his chances of success are much higher.

That day, Jon Ferrer brought a large stack of actor profiles for Zhang Shuai'an to conduct an initial selection.

"This is a list of actors sent by the Screen Actors Guild that meet the requirements of the role."

Jon Ferrer explained, "You do an initial selection, then you hold an audition, and then you finalize the cast."

Just then, Monica Gabriel and Apolloni arrived at the company with their best friend.
