Su Wan wasn't angry. She shrugged and said with a smile, "Alright, I'll find a seat myself."

She turned to look at a table that had just become vacant, walked straight over, sat down, and ordered a dish and a soup.

Then he picked up his chopsticks and started eating, glancing at Lu Chenyuan every now and then.

Her gaze was bold and intense, taking in his entire body without any hesitation.

From his eyebrows and eyes to his collarbone and the hand holding the chopsticks, every detail made her heart race.

Lu Chenyuan's colleagues felt a little uncomfortable under her gaze and began to tease him in hushed tones.

"Shen Yuan, not bad, such a beautiful girl, she must be interested in you, right?"

"Yeah, Captain Lu, you're so clueless about romance. The girl's come to you, why are you still so cold?"

"This girl is really hot, and she has a great figure too. Captain Lu, you shouldn't miss out on her."

Lu Chenyuan frowned even more deeply, his face growing increasingly gloomy, without uttering a single word.

They simply sped up their eating, clearly not wanting to get entangled in the topic any further.

Su Wan saw all of this and a smug smile appeared on her lips.

That's exactly the effect she wanted—to let everyone know that she was pursuing Lu Chenyuan, and see how he could still pretend to be indifferent.

Not long after, Lu Chenyuan finished his meal, put down his chopsticks, stood up and said to his colleagues, "I'm leaving now."

"Hey, Captain Lu, won't you sit for a while longer?"

"Aren't you going to wait for us?"

Lu Chenyuan shook his head and walked straight towards the door.

Upon seeing this, Su Wan immediately put down her chopsticks, disregarded the bill, and quickly chased after him.

"Lu Chenyuan, wait for me!"

Her clear and loud voice attracted the attention of everyone in the restaurant.

Lu Chenyuan paused for a moment, but did not turn around and continued walking forward.

Su Wan quickened her pace, caught up with him, and walked alongside him.

With a bright smile on her face and a hint of coquettishness in her voice, she said, "Lu Chenyuan, I have something to tell you."

Lu Chenyuan glanced at her sideways, his eyes still cold: "I have nothing to say to you."

"But I have one."

Su Wan stopped and grabbed his arm, forcing him to stop as well.

Her fingers gripped his shirt tightly, her fingertips able to feel the hardness and warmth of his muscles, and a flutter ran through her heart.

Several of Lu Chenyuan's colleagues were still nearby. Seeing this scene, they all stopped and watched the spectacle with great interest.

Facing the gazes of the crowd, Su Wan showed no shyness. Instead, she raised her head, looked at Lu Chenyuan with a determined gaze, and spoke loudly.

"Lu Chenyuan, I like you! I know you have a girlfriend in name only, but there's no real affection between you two. I hope you can give me a chance, and give yourself a chance, let me take care of you, let me be your girlfriend, okay?"

Her confession was bold and straightforward, her voice clear and resonant, echoing throughout the entire old alley.

Lu Chenyuan's face instantly turned ashen, his eyes filled with anger and impatience.

He tried to shake off Su Wan's hand, but Su Wan held on tightly.

Not only that, Su Wan deliberately leaned forward, her body almost touching his.

She raised her other hand as well, her fingertips lightly tracing his collarbone, her voice carrying a hint of allure.

"Lu Chenyuan, do you really have absolutely no feelings for me? Do you think I'm not good-looking? Do you think I have a bad figure? I know you're a normal man, I don't believe you have absolutely no interest in me."

Her movements were bold and ambiguous, her blatant seduction undisguised.

His colleagues were stunned, and they began to chuckle and wink at Lu Chenyuan.

"Holy crap, this girl is amazing!"

"Captain Lu, it seems you can't escape this time!"

"Just go for it! A stunningly beautiful woman this proactive is hard to find even with a lantern!"

Lu Chenyuan's face was so dark it could drip water, and the air pressure around him was frighteningly low.

Looking at Su Wan's bright and beautiful face, and at the undisguised desire and provocation in her eyes, his disgust and anger reached their peak.

He suddenly jerked his hand away, the force so great that Su Wan staggered back a few steps.

"Shameless."

He uttered four words, his voice as cold as ice, then turned and strode away without looking back.

Su Wan's smile froze as she watched his resolute back.

However, I felt no discouragement; instead, a stronger fighting spirit surged within me.

She rubbed her wrist, which was sore from being shaken, her eyes gleaming with a determined light.

Seeing this, her colleagues all came forward and gave Su Wan a thumbs up.

"Young lady, your courage is commendable!"

"That's just how Captain Lu is, cold and aloof, don't take it to heart."

"But honestly, you're so beautiful and have such a great figure, why hang yourself on to just one guy?"

Su Wan smiled but didn't say anything.

She knew exactly what she wanted.

The more indifferent and resistant Lu Chenyuan was, the more she wanted to conquer him.

She turned around, went back to the small restaurant to pay the bill, and then left the old alley with light steps.

The sunlight shone on her, making her figure even more dazzling.

"Lu Chenyuan, I didn't succeed at noon, but I'll wait for you at the barbecue stand tonight."

Su Wan muttered to herself, a sly yet determined smile playing on her lips.

"I refuse to believe I can't win you over."

Evening came quickly.

Even at midnight, Old Chen's barbecue stall was still bustling with people. The charcoal fire made the air hot and dry, and the aroma of cumin and meat filled the alley.

Su Wan had just reached the alley entrance when she saw that familiar figure—

Lu Chenyuan sat in a corner and changed into casual clothes.

The black short-sleeved T-shirt outlined the contours of his broad shoulders and narrow back, and the bulging veins on his forearms were faintly visible, exuding an undeniable sense of strength.

He was alone, with a few skewers of grilled meat and a bottle of mineral water in front of him, eating very slowly.

His brows were slightly furrowed, as if he were pondering something, and the coldness emanating from him seemed out of place amidst the surrounding noise.

Su Wan stood there and looked at him for a few seconds, a sudden, inexplicable pang of heartache welling up inside her.

He always does this; after finishing work, he comes here to eat some barbecue to fill his stomach.

Eating these things occasionally is fine, but how can it be healthy to eat them as a late-night snack regularly?

It seems that no one at home cooks him a hot meal.

His girlfriend, whom he met through a blind date, was someone he only saw a few times a year, so naturally she wouldn't be so thoughtful as to prepare late-night snacks for him.

Thinking this, Su Wan's originally firm teasing intentions were mixed with a few barely perceptible hints of tenderness.

She took a deep breath, suppressed the strange feeling in her heart, and walked over with light steps.

Before Lu Chenyuan could speak, she pulled out the chair opposite him and sat down.

She rested her elbows on the table, her chin in her palms, and looked at him with bright, sparkling eyes.

"Captain Lu, it's me again! Surprised? Unexpected?"

Lu Chenyuan paused, holding the skewers, and looked up at her.

His dark eyes instantly turned icy, and his tone was as cold as if it had been tempered with ice.

"Who told you to sit here?"

"Of course it's me."

Su Wan smiled slyly, leaning forward slightly to deliberately make the curve of her neckline more alluring.

"There's no sign here saying Su Wan is prohibited from entering, so why can't I sit here?"
