Cat Princess and Human Knight

Chapter 65 I am your man

As the sun rises, the cat knights call out to their servants to feed their warhorses grains, give them water, and let them rest, so they can conserve their strength for battle.

Princess Sofia, the dwarf cat, walked among the cats with Luna, the calico cat knight. Every now and then, a cat knight would bow to her in salute, and she would solemnly return the salute to each one.

Sofia was dressed in military attire at this moment. The ill-fitting chainmail made her look somewhat oversized, and some of the empty spaces had been filled with cotton, making her appear even more bulky.

The noble knights in the middle of the group formed a circle. Marquis Iron Oak was sketching the terrain on the ground with his sword and repeatedly confirming the intelligence gathered by the scout knight beside him.

Looking up and seeing Sophia, the Marquis of Iron Oak almost laughed. The short-legged princess in her armor really looked like a doll with short arms and legs.

The tomcat couldn't help but feel pity for the doll princess, and the Marquis of Iron Oak beckoned to her and called out.

"Gentlemen, look who has arrived! My beautiful princess, please come here."

Sophia led Luna through the gaps made by the cat riders and squeezed into the group of cats, saying as she did so.

"Please don't call me that, Marquis of Iron Oak. I am no longer a princess. I am just a duchess of the Huru County of the Shattered Hills."

Marquis Iron Oak laughed.

"So, you are the princess of our Shattered Hills, don't you all agree?"

"yes!"

"Long live the princess!"

"Good day, Your Highness!"

A few casual words boosted morale, and the old soldier, the Marquis of Iron Oak, became serious. He pointed to the map drawn on the soil and said...

"The situation is terrible."

Our Warhawk air cavalry cannot approach the airspace for reconnaissance; the Nomadic Cat pack has too many Snow Owl Riders.

The scout knights sent out on the ground could not get too close to the battlefield, and all they knew was that the nomadic cats were besieging Grayrock Castle.

Because our reconnaissance has been hampered, I cannot determine whether they are truly besieging the city or setting a trap to lure us in.

It was Sofia's first time attending a pre-war meeting, and she was on edge, instinctively asking a question.

"What should we do now?"

Marquis Iron Oak laughed and crushed the map on the ground with one foot.

"Of course we're going to fight our way through. Otherwise, what are we doing here?"

It took us five days to get here from Eagle's Beak Pass. Even if the nomadic cats didn't attack the city, the city was already starting to run out of food and water.

After exiting the valley, we bypassed Cat Back Mountain and launched an attack from the north.

"They can see our movements from inside the castle. As long as they come out of the city to coordinate, we can launch a pincer attack."

Ironthorn Knight reminded him from the side.

"What if the siege is just a ruse by the nomadic cats to lure us in?"

Marquis Ironwood stood up and roared at all the cats.

"Then let's fight them. Would you rather die standing, or live on your knees?"

"Fight to the death! Fight to the death! Fight to the death!"

The cat riders were excited, waving their fists and shouting slogans.

The Marquis of Ironwood clapped his hands and shouted.

"Alright! Get ready, everyone. We're off right away!"

The cats scattered and went about their own business, but Marquis Iron Oak stopped Sophia and asked in a low voice.

"Your Excellency, will your knights participate in the war?"

You should be aware of the existence of the Council of Hearts and Minds; the extent to which humans participate in cat society is monitored by the Council of Hearts and Minds.

I'm not questioning you, but I want you to understand that humans never participate in cat wars.

"I'm eager to defeat the nomadic cat pack, so I'd like to know if our human knights will join the battle?"

Marquis Iron Oak was also in a state of great unease, feeling utterly bewildered.

To humans, who possess extraordinary power, the cat wars might just be a laughable game.

The human knights are willing to participate in the war, which increases their chances of winning, but it's hard to say whether it will cause more problems after the war, such as the intervention of the Council of Humanity.

Therefore, Marquis Iron Oak was both expectant and apprehensive, unsure whether the knight should participate in the war or not.

Sofia wasn't sure about his question either.

She knew very well that Yi Yin, this human, had no extraordinary power whatsoever, and that his identity was that of a highly sensitive otherworldly king.

Sophia had a vague feeling that perhaps the Dark God's big fuss this time wasn't actually aimed at her, this short-legged cat.

The reason why the Dark God is truly terrified and would rather offend the Earth Mother Goddess than madly intervene in worldly wars might be because of the reappearance of the Otherworldly Human King.

Subconsciously, Sophia looked at Yi Yin in the distance. Standing at 1.83 meters tall, he was very conspicuous among the cats. At this moment, he seemed to be arguing with Ilya, who had just appeared.

Ilya. Onyxia? What's she doing here?

Before Sophia could react, she saw Ilya grab the silver, transform into a streak of silver light, flash across the sky, and fly into the distance.

Sophia paused for a moment, then turned to look at the Marquis of Iron Oak, who was also somewhat dazed.

"He... probably won't participate in the war."

"oh.."

Even so, Sophia was still a little scared and disappointed. She lowered her head, clenched her paws, and told herself.

Sofia, you can do it, you have to be strong.

---

Yi Yin didn't actually want to leave on his own; it was Ilya who, without a word, grabbed him and started to leave.

Yi Yin's constant roars echoed from within the silver light.

"Let me go back!"

"I won't let go!"

How many times have I told you that humans shouldn't interfere too much in cat society? And yet you still want to go to war with the cats! You're just being ridiculous!

If the rest of the Council of Hearts finds out about this, you'll be in big trouble!

"I said let me go! Behold my dragon claw hand!"

"Mmm..."

Ilya let out a hesitant gasp, the silver light abruptly stopped, and the soft grip on Yi Yin's hand gave way, causing her to fall from the sky.

"Ahhhhh!"

His face was less than ten centimeters from the ground when he suddenly froze in mid-air. Cold sweat dripped from his forehead onto the ground, and his heart pounded wildly.

Ilya's voice came from behind him.

"Hmph, now you're scared, huh? Serves you right for reaching out your hands so recklessly."

Yi Yin lay on the ground for a while to recover. Behind him, Ilya covered her chest and blushed. She wanted to teach him a lesson but was reluctant to do so. She came over and asked him with concern.

Are you alright?

Yi Yin rolled over and got up, looked around, found the way back, shook off Ilya's outstretched hand, and stood up to leave.

Ilya was furious and lost her temper.

"Stop right there! I'm doing this for your own good! Don't be ungrateful!"

Yi Yin turned his head and said angrily.

"For my own good?"

They took me away without even asking what happened. Is this for my own good?

Making decisions for me without asking my opinion, is that for my own good?

Is it for my own good that you're making me abandon my friends and leave on the battlefield where the fighting is about to begin?

"Illya. Onyxia, you've gone too far!"

Ilya had never seen Yi Yin like this before. Looking at Yi Yin's furious and distorted expression, she felt a little guilty but didn't know why she felt guilty. She stubbornly retorted.

"They're just a bunch of cats! It's not as serious as you're making it out to be!"

Yi Yin pointed at Ilya and said solemnly.

"Indeed, they are a group of cats, and in your eyes they are just a group of comforting toys."

But I'm different. Among them are my friends, and those I swore to protect!

After Yi Yin finished speaking, he turned to leave, but the ground in front of him suddenly emitted a silver light, and an ice mark appeared in front of him, about the width of a palm, extending from end to end without being visible.

Behind him, Ilya's eyes were already red, and she said in a deep voice.

"I don't understand, I don't understand anything!"

But if you cross this line, I'm telling you, it's over for good!

I'm doing this for your own good, why are you yelling at me? You treat me like this just because of a bunch of cats?

Everything I've done is for your own good! Don't you understand?

Yi Yin turned around and walked up to Ilya. At 1.83 meters tall, he did not appear imposing or tall next to Ilya, who was 1.8 meters tall.

Looking straight at Ilya, Yi Yin suddenly grabbed her cheeks with both hands and kissed her lips fiercely.

After a long silence, their lips parted, and Yi-eun spoke earnestly.

"I like you, I really like you, you know what? This is the first time in my life I've ever liked a woman!"

But I'm a man, I can't abandon my friend's safety! Sofia is going to the battlefield, I have to help her, I promised her I would!

Ilya, you are amazing. You wield ice in your left hand and fire in your right, you are incredibly powerful. I could never catch up to you in my entire life.

But remember this: no matter how capable you are, I'm still your man. Don't make decisions for your man!

Yi Yin patted Ilya's face, turned around, resolutely stepped over the ice mark, and strode quickly towards the battlefield.

Behind him, Ilya trembled with grievance, tears welling in her eyes, and she suddenly screamed like a madwoman.

"You come back here!"

Waaaaah, Yi-eun, come back here!

Waaaaah, come back right now!

Waaaaah, if you just come back, I can pretend nothing ever happened!

Waaaaah, I hate you! I never want to see you again in my life! You bastard!
