The Walking Dead: Starting as a Cowboy
Chapter 122 Gay Guy
The wind was blowing fiercely, quickly taking away the heat from the pedestrians.
Moore wrapped himself up, jumped out of the car, and waved his hand, yelling, "Hurry up and get on with it!"
"What kind of weather is this? The wind is so strong."
Moore shouted at the top of his lungs as he walked toward the back door of the department store next door.
The wind was so strong that even when Mo'er shouted at the top of his lungs, his voice didn't carry very far. Even his teammates, who were so close to him, could only hear him vaguely.
Moore left a few people in the car to watch over it and make sure the engine was running.
With a bang.
The back door was pushed open, and the wind poured in, emitting terrifying cries.
The interior of the department store was pitch black, and the first floor was very empty. Coupled with the howling wind, it looked somewhat eerie.
Several young combatants shrank back.
With a few sharp slaps, Moore struck their helmets repeatedly, saying menacingly, "What are you doing?"
"Go and close the back door right now, and check the other entrances and exits. Close any that are open!"
The physical pain instantly snapped the young team members out of their reverie, and they quickly headed indoors.
"When you have something to do, you won't think too much!" As Moore's confidant, Toby naturally understood what Moore was thinking.
Moore rolled his eyes at Toby. "You'd better get to work too!"
"Uh..." Toby chuckled twice and followed to close the door and check.
The department store here is further away from the city center than the previous one, so it naturally attracts fewer customers, but the goods are much more complete and plentiful.
The first floor was filled with clothes, mostly summer clothes.
When the apocalypse broke out, there was still some time before autumn, so there were far fewer winter clothes available.
Moore didn't sit still either; he casually took off his helmet and strode into the hall.
The ground was covered with a thick layer of dust, with footprints of varying depths, some made by the team members and others by previous visitors.
There were many more new footprints, and the marks left behind varied in size, but the patterns were similar.
When his gaze swept over a set of footprints, Moore paused, his eyes instantly sharpening. He reflexively placed his hand on his holster and barked, "Suspicious target detected! All on alert!"
The warning rang out, and all the combatants tensed up, stopped what they were doing, gripped their weapons, and looked around with wary yet dangerous eyes.
In addition, they leaned against their companions and slowly approached Moor.
The hall was silent except for the sound of footsteps; the empty hall felt eerily dangerous.
Moor took the opportunity to put on his helmet, scanning the surroundings for possible hiding places and glancing at the footprints on the ground.
"The suspicious individual was with a child, most likely one adult and one child!"
Just as Moore was giving details of the discovery, a roar came from a corner.
"Don't move, put your hands up, and don't try anything funny."
"Captain, Captain, I've found something here."
Moore held the gun in both hands, muzzle pointing at the floor, and ran quickly toward the source of the sound.
Other team members also moved closer to that spot.
They went over and saw two team members holding guns, pointing them at two people, one big and one small, in the middle.
They looked like a mother and daughter. The mother was dressed in thin clothes, with a dirty thick coat casually draped over her shoulders. Her body was trembling slightly, and her eyes were filled with fear.
The child looked to be only six or seven years old. His clothes were ill-fitting and even dragged on the ground. He looked somewhat malnourished, and his eyes lacked any sparkle.
The members behind them surged forward, surrounding the two women. Several of them, armed with automatic rifles, searched the area where the mother and daughter had been found.
Moore remained silent, simply watching the mother and daughter.
His gaze seemed to weigh a ton, and the mother trembled violently, tears streaming down her face. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to trespass on your territory."
"I thought there were a lot of zombies here... so no one would have claimed any territory."
"I...I just want to live. I have a daughter to raise. Please, please, let us go."
"My daughter is so hungry, I just want to find something to eat..."
"We really didn't intend to do anything, um..."
As she spoke, tears streamed down the mother's face, and the pleading in her eyes was unmistakable.
The little girl noticed her mother's emotional breakdown, reached out her dirty little hand to pinch the hem of her mother's clothes, looked up at her mother, and looked very obedient.
Moore looked at the mother and daughter without any change in expression.
The surrounding combatants, pointing guns at the two men, remained vigilant and alert.
Soon, the team members who went to search returned.
"Captain, no trace found."
"We didn't find anything unusual, just a few zombies whose heads we destroyed."
Listening to their report, Moore's hoarse voice rang out: "Contact the people in the convoy outside again and have them check the surrounding situation."
As time passed, the mother's emotions fluctuated greatly, and she finally collapsed to the ground. The little girl quickly hugged her mother.
Under the watchful eyes of the other members, Moore did not force them to lift up the mother and daughter.
The walkie-talkie crackled with the sound of no discovery.
Moore breathed a sigh of relief. If the mother and daughter were used as a nest, there were likely many enemies lying in ambush outside.
He had to ask Caesar for help, to seek assistance from other combat squads, not for any other reason than to ensure the survival of his men.
If they just fight head-on like this, even if they escape, many of their team members will die.
Mohr is not the same Mohr as before; he now has to consider many things before he acts.
Clap his hands and Moore said, "Alright, leave two people to watch over them, the rest of you go get to work."
The combat team members who had just discovered the mother and daughter were left behind, while the others quickly searched the department store to locate the storage warehouses and places where supplies were needed.
Moore turned his back and walked into the hall, waving to Toby beside him.
Toby came running over excitedly, head down, and asked, "Captain, what are your orders?"
Moore glanced casually at the mother and daughter behind him and said casually, "Find them some food and drink."
When Moore's gaze fell on the mother and daughter's dirty clothes, he paused for a moment, then said, "Change your clothes again. They smell awful and are an eyesore."
"Yes, that's right!" Toby chuckled and nodded, his eyes seeming to see right through him.
Moore's expression turned uneasy, and he pointed at Toby, saying, "Go now!"
"If you dare say anything, believe me, I'll dump you in a cowboy cabin for a few nights. I heard there are several gay men there."
Toby's expression changed, and he nodded repeatedly: "I'll go right away."
