Liu Yunshu's fingertips went numb from his biting, so she pulled her hand back and patted him on the shoulder: "You're so irresponsible."

She then looked at him mischievously, "What if your parents don't like me?"

Lu Yan tightened his grip on her hand, gently rubbing his fingertips against the back of her hand, his tone resolute: "No."

"If they had met you, they would only think that I had brought down a fairy from heaven to be my girlfriend, how could they not like you?"

Liu Yunshu laughed at his words and gently poked his cheek with her fingertip: "You're so good at talking."

"Oh, right," she suddenly remembered something, tracing circles on his chest with her fingertips, "what do your parents like? We can't go empty-handed."

"You don't need to bring anything." Lu Yan grabbed her mischievous hand and pressed it against his chest. "They'll be happier than if they received any gift just for you to go."

He lowered his head and kissed the back of her hand. "My mom is gentle, but she loves to nag. If she asks a lot of questions, don't find it annoying."

"Don't worry." Liu Yunshu looked up at him. "I'm best at dealing with elders."

They must have mastered the art of coaxing people in their past life.

As the sun completely set, a string of lights illuminated the lake, like stars scattered on the water.

Lu Yan led her towards the lake, the wooden boardwalk creaking softly under their feet.

"Isn't the night view here beautiful?" He stopped and took a long sandalwood box out of his pocket.

He slowly opened the box, inside which lay a carnelian hairpin.

The hairpin is carved with a small begonia flower, which gleams with a warm light under the lamp.

"I had someone prepare this after I first saw you at the airport." Lu Yan picked up the hairpin, gently pinching the end with her fingertips, her movements extremely light.

"That day you wore a dark red cheongsam and your hair was loosely tied up. I thought to myself, this hairpin would look beautiful on you."

Liu Yunshu looked at the hairpin, her fingertips gently touching the cool red carnelian, and her heart suddenly skipped a beat.

She looked up at Lu Yan, her eyes reflecting the lights on the lake, and said softly, "You actually remembered this for so long."

"I remember everything about you." Lu Yan held her hair and carefully inserted the hairpin into her hair bun.

"I originally thought I would never be able to give this hairpin to you, but I never expected that I would have the opportunity to put it on you in person."

Lu Yan's gaze fell on the stray hairs falling beside her temples, his tone full of undisguised tenderness.

Liu Yunshu touched her hairpin, then suddenly turned around and hugged his waist, burying her face in his chest: "Lu Yan, how could you do this?"

He chuckled softly and hugged her back, resting his chin on the top of her head: "Because it's you."

The two took a walk for a while, then drove back to the apartment.

Back at the apartment building, Lu Yan unbuckled her seatbelt, but his fingertips gently pinched her waist: "Want to come up and sit for a bit?"

Seeing the expectation in his eyes, Liu Yunshu teased him on purpose, "No, I have to get up early to arrange flowers tomorrow."

The light in his eyes dimmed, but he still released his grip: "Then I'll take you up."

In the elevator, he was like a large, abandoned dog, his eyes downcast and silent.

Liu Yunshu was amused by his appearance. Just before the elevator doors opened, she reached out and grabbed his tie, pulling him toward her: "Silly boy, I was just teasing you."

Lu Yan's eyes lit up instantly. He turned around, pressed her against the elevator wall, and kissed the corner of her lips: "I knew you couldn't bear to part with me."

The motion-activated lights in the hallway were awakened by the footsteps, and the warm yellow light fell on the intertwined shadows of the two people.

As Liu Yunshu took out her keys, Lu Yan wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and nuzzled her neck with his chin, saying, "Don't kick me out tonight."

Liu Yunshu paused as she inserted the key into the lock, turning her head to look at him, her eyes brimming with undisguised amusement: "Mr. Lu, are you now clinging to me?"

"Yes," he answered frankly, biting her earlobe. "I'm sticking with you."

The moment the door opened, Liu Yunshu was swept inside by him, the key clattering to the floor in the entryway, quickly drowned out by even more intimate panting.

As Liu Yunshu was carried into the bedroom, she was so overwhelmed by the kisses that she suddenly remembered that she hadn't asked Lu Yan if she should wear a cheongsam when meeting his parents next week.

However, this thought was quickly dispelled by his kiss; anyway, with him around, it didn't matter what I wore.

Since that date, Lu Yan has been busy, trying to finish up his projects before the weekend so he can have a few days to spend with Liu Yunshu.

Liu Yunshu had a leisurely life, spending her time managing flower shop orders and figuring out what to wear to meet her parents on the weekend.

The cheongsam was too eye-catching, and the dress was too plain. In the end, I found a modified moon-white cheongsam dress with a few light ink orchids embroidered on the hem. It was both elegant and gentle.

"How about this one?" She twirled in front of the mirror, and as the hem of her skirt swept past her ankles, the orchids seemed to come alive and sway on the fabric.

Xiao Ba flashed through her mind: "This one is good, gentle and virtuous, that's what elders like."

"This one will do." Liu Yunshu smiled and put on the pearl earring.

Just then, her phone rang. Liu Yunshu picked it up and saw that it was Liu Yunfan.

When Liu Yunshu answered the phone, her fingertips were still pinching the hook of her earring. "Hello, Yunfan."

"Sis, are you free this weekend?" Liu Yunfan's voice came through the receiver, carrying a hint of youthful excitement.

"I've made plans with my classmates to go to the botanical garden on the outskirts of the city. I heard they've recently introduced a lot of rare species. Don't you like flowers and plants? Why don't you come along?"

Liu Yunshu had just put on her earrings when she heard this and paused, "I'm afraid I won't be able to go this weekend."

She walked to the window, watched the couples passing by downstairs, and smiled slightly. "We're going to meet your future brother-in-law's parents."

"Brother-in-law?!" Liu Yunfan's voice suddenly rose, making her eardrums ring. "Is that the CEO Lu who kidnapped you last time? You've already met the parents so soon?"

"Is it fast?" Liu Yunshu flicked the curtains with her fingertips. "I think it's just right."

"No, I have to go with you!" Liu Yunfan said firmly.

"What if his parents bully you? As his younger brother, I have to stand up for him!"

"His parents come from a scholarly family, they know much more about manners than you do." Liu Yunshu leaned against the window and smiled, her fingertips twirling the tassels of the curtains.

"Besides, with your brother-in-law around, who would dare bully me? Honey, it would be impolite to bring you along on our first meeting."

Liu Yunfan remained silent for a few seconds on the other end of the phone, his tone still tinged with unease.

"Okay, but you have to let me know you're safe anytime! If his parents say anything unpleasant, or if that guy surnamed Lu dares to protect outsiders, call me immediately, and I'll come right over!"

Liu Yunshu laughed at his words, "I know, my sister-protecting maniac."

Liu Yunshu smiled and hung up the phone. As soon as she put her phone down, she received a message from Lu Yan: "Are you busy? Just finished a meeting. I miss you."

She tapped the screen with her fingertips, replying with a photo of herself in a cheongsam dress, captioned: "Trying on an outfit for meeting my parents, does it look good?"

Lu Yan replied almost instantly, sending a heart-eyed emoji followed by a voice message: "Looks good. You look good in anything, especially when you wear it for me."

His voice was slightly hoarse from just finishing a meeting, but he spoke the last few words in a particularly ambiguous way. Liu Yunshu looked at the screen, and the tips of her ears turned red.

Xiao Ba clicked her tongue in her mind: "It's only been a few days, and he's gone from an iceberg to a clingy person. The magic of love is truly terrifying."

"That's called romance." Liu Yunshu straightened her collar in front of the mirror, then turned and walked towards the flower shop. "What do you know, you little rascal who's never been in love?"

The next morning, as soon as Liu Yunshu opened the door of the flower shop, Lu Yan's car parked in front of the door.

He was wearing a light gray casual suit and carrying a thermos. He walked in, bringing with him a refreshing breeze: "I just came from home. My mom said this soup should be drunk while it's hot."

When the thermos was opened, it contained a rich fish maw and black chicken soup, and its aroma instantly filled the air.

"Auntie, you're too kind." Liu Yunshu ladled out a bowl, and her eyes lit up after just one sip. "This tastes amazing, even better than what you get in restaurants."

Looking at her satisfied expression, Lu Yan smiled and said, "Drink more if you like it."

He wandered around the flower shop, his gaze landing on a pot of newly blooming white roses in the corner, the petals still glistening with morning dew: "This one is blooming beautifully."

"A new variety just arrived, called 'Moonlight.' Shall I bring one to your house this weekend? If you like plants, it'll be perfect for your balcony."

"Okay." He took her hand and kissed it. "My mom will definitely like it. Everything you picked is great."

Just then, Liu Yunfan ran in with his schoolbag on his back. Seeing the two clasped hands, he deliberately coughed twice: "Ahem, excuse me?"

Lu Yan looked up at him, the tenderness in her eyes fading slightly, but she still nodded politely: "Yun Fan is here."

Looking at the powerful man in front of him, Liu Yunfan felt a little apprehensive, but still straightened his neck and called out, "Brother Lu."

Lu Yan chuckled and handed over an exquisitely packaged box: "First time meeting you, I didn't prepare anything, this is for you."

Inside the box was a brand-new game console. Liu Yunfan's eyes lit up instantly, but he still secretly glanced at Liu Yunshu, and only took it after seeing her nod: "Thank you, Brother Lu!"

My feelings for this future brother-in-law instantly soared; anyone who gives a gift is a good person!

Looking at her younger brother's appearance, Liu Yunshu shook her head helplessly and turned to cut fruit for them.
