The Witch's Wandering Alchemist's Diary

Chapter 31 A Humble Little Man

Lou Le picked up the instruction manual and looked at it carefully.

Dwight sighed inwardly.

A true mage cannot possibly give up this kind of otherworldly knowledge.

Dwight felt a deep sense of regret.

Lou Le, however, handed this book, which was full of knowledge from another world, to Dwight.

She smiled and said, "Master Dwight, I can't understand this scroll filled with otherworldly knowledge. So, you can have it."

Dwight was surprised: "Really? You're really giving this to me?"

Lou Le replied, "This is our agreement, and I will not break my word."

Dwight bowed respectfully: "May you acquire knowledge as vast as mountains and seas in the future."

Farin and his apprentice mages also bowed respectfully.

Lou Le waved his hand and said, "If there's nothing else, then I'll be leaving now."

Dwight nodded.

Lou Le packed everything into her handbag, and before leaving, she deliberately unlocked the book.

I kept flipping through it.

Dwight secretly peeked at the contents of the book, but Lou Le turned the pages one by one and found that they were all blank.

"Your mom!"

Lou Le's face was extremely ugly.

At this moment, Dwight's initial slight resentment disappeared, and he even felt a bit smug.

He comforted Lou Le, saying, "Master Lou Le, although this book doesn't contain any information, the material is quite good. You can write it yourself and use it as a spellbook; there won't be any problem."

Lou Le ignored Dwight and stormed off toward the camp.

Dwight just chuckled awkwardly, then turned to his apprentices and said, "Perfect timing, all your ropes are broken. I suggest you throw the new ropes into the dungeon, distort them, and then use them."

"Because the distorted ropes are more like living things, they should have additional uses. You can try to study them, but of course, you don't need to guard this place day and night."

"You must maintain a facade of strictness, but be lax in your defenses underneath. If any adventurers want to go in, then let them in."

"This way, we can see what kind of impact those bricks and stones here will have on humans."

"Yes, teacher."

The apprentice monks nodded and spoke earnestly.

"This dungeon can give us two resource points. One is fur that has been imbued with magic, and the other is a special rope."

"Our manpower will soon be insufficient. Remember to recruit more mage apprentices, and remember to have them work part-time as magical item craftsmen."

One of the mage apprentices said with difficulty, "Teacher, compared to becoming a magic item craftsman, the allure of being a mage is far too great. Very few people would choose to become a magic item craftsman."

But Dwight dismissed it, saying, "Can't you think of a solution?"

"Besides, is becoming a mage so easy? All kinds of resources and knowledge require payment."

"How many gold coins do those who want to become mages have to support them through their struggles? Once they run out of money, naturally, they can only become magical artifact craftsmen to earn money and then buy knowledge."

"Farin, you should be very familiar with this."

"Yes, teacher."

Farin bowed slightly and said, "I will handle this matter well, please rest assured."

Dwight nodded in satisfaction.

After Lou Le returned to the camp, the adventurers there gathered and spread the word about the terror of the fire dragon.

This caused panic among many adventurers, some of whom even prepared to secretly leave.

Lou Le's arrival caused an uproar among the adventurers in the camp, all fearing that they would be held accountable by the mages.

Everyone wanted to ask about the specifics, but none of them dared to.

A group of people found Jer and wanted him to put in a good word for them, to find out what had happened.

Jer rolled his eyes at the people in front of him and said irritably, "I'm just a lowly guard, without even a surname, an insignificant nobody. You expect me to go and plead for you before some high-ranking mage?"

"What merit do I possess? I've only done a few favors for the Master. If the Master is in a good mood, he might even glance at me, but if he's in a bad mood, I'm nothing but a fart!"

"You want me to plead on their behalf? What am I supposed to offer?"

"Relying on empty words?"

"To put it bluntly, what am I? And what are you all?"

"Don't you find what you're saying hilarious?"

Jell said bluntly, "You guys have no self-awareness, but I do."

"We don't even have the right to appear before the Master!"

As he said this, the leaders of several adventurer groups understood what was going on.

Glico said, "I found a clump of Dream Beet, about eleven in total. It can be given as a gift to Master Lou Le."

Hudson said, "I also found some strange ores with magical fluctuations that I could give to Master Loule as a gift."

The leaders of the other adventure groups also presented gifts.

Some were a few kobold teeth, while others were some herbs.

Jer glanced at the crystallized teeth: "You dared to give this junk to Master Lou Le? It's not even fully crystallized!"

The leader of the adventure team said somewhat embarrassedly, "We are really too poor, but this is just a token of our appreciation."

Then Jer found a large basket, carried all these things on his back, and came to the high platform in front of the camp.

He arrived in front of the shop and immediately knelt down on the ground, holding the basket high.

Her butt was sticking up really high.

"Congratulations, Master Mage, on conquering the dungeon and returning to camp. This is a gift from the entire adventure team."

He said it several times in a row.

After Lou Le came out, he glanced at those things.

Then he glanced at the adventurers in the distance.

She smiled and said, "I'm very happy that you gave me a gift. But no one is going to deal with the tree people. Master Dwight is very unhappy about it."

"We monks are people who value punctuality very much."

Gerald understood immediately. He put the basket on the ground and then knelt down and slowly backed away.

He stood up and ran towards the adventurers only when Lou Le could no longer see him.

Lou Le ignored him and didn't give him any reward.

—After all, there's no need. Just revealing the information to him is enough of a reward.

She packed all her belongings into the carriage, ready to return to Ghostwood Town.

Moreover, she was very interested in the several ores in the basket.
