The Witch's Wandering Alchemist's Diary

Chapter 53 Extinct Volcano and Flame Grass

Making a freezer requires frost potion, and several bottles at that, or even a continuous supply.

There's really no need for that.

"Let's marinate it with salt," Lou Le said. "And it'll taste better too."

"There should still be enough salt for the mage."

Before Lou Le left Youmu Town, he bought a lot of mage salt.

The so-called "magician salt" is simply the name for the finest white salt, because only mages and nobles could afford to consume it.

As for the others, most of them used coarse salt or black salt.

Some of the poorest people didn't eat salt at all, but instead consumed products made from the blood of the kobolds.

For example, adding some to bread will give it a slightly salty taste.

Pickling eggs requires a special jar.

Lou Le simply burned ten more glass jars and had Limela pickle the eggs directly.

Although we may not need it now, we may be able to use it in the future.

She used a magic book to create alchemical potions from the earth roots.

Because only the first batch of ore was harvested, it yielded two bottles of Mixed Strength Stone Skin Potion.

The remaining earth roots were only refined into power potions.

This made Lou Le feel a little regretful; "We should expand the scale of the yellow clay mine."

After careful consideration, I realized that the yellowish-brown ore I obtained from the mine cave could not be used to regenerate seeds, so I could only purchase yellowish-brown ore in Graystone City.

Only in this way can the yellowish-brown ore seed be regenerated.

The rain lasted for two days and two nights before finally stopping. Although the carriages could finally move, the road surface was completely soaked and damaged.

The carriage moved through it at an extremely slow pace.

The wheels often got stuck in the mud, making it very difficult for the carriage to move.

Lou Le had no choice but to use the dry firewood to light it and summon fire crows, which then frantically absorbed the overflowing magic power around them to burn.

Then it flew close to the ground, using the hottest temperatures to dry the muddy road surface.

Although the idea was good, it didn't work very well.

The main reason is that the drying speed cannot keep up with the speed of the carriage, but it is barely enough.

Let's go slower, that's fine. At least we won't get caught up in it anymore, and Lou Le can accept that.

Sitting in front of the car, looking at this scene before me.

Lou Le sighed; "If it were a regular caravan, what methods would they use to get through rainy days?"

Limela looked at Loule, who was resting his head on her lap, and said softly, "The caravans would cut down trees directly to pave the mud pits, and lay them horizontally in the middle of the road."

"They will buy a lot of orc slaves, especially some low-intelligence orc slaves."

"Orcs are prone to producing low-intelligence orcs, who are then sold as resources to humans or other races. This is because they consume far too much food, making it impossible for the orcs to support them."

"Humans like these orcs very much; they won't betray you, they're strong, and they can do a lot of work."

Limela explained, while Lou Le sighed.

"It seems we need a new spell."

The little witch covered her forehead.

—If only I could unleash witch's magic in the dungeon.

That's what she was thinking.

"Eh."

Unfortunately, the dungeon with over 100 magic points only drops things like toy children, although they are indeed very useful.

but--

Since there's no way to increase my magic power limit right now, I can only use witch coins to replace the consumption of magic power.

Only in this way can we break through the upper limit of one hundred magic power and generate more and more powerful dungeons.

For Lou Le, life on the go was quite routine.

Every morning, I check on the herbs being grown, eat the breakfast Limera makes, tease Limera a bit, then take a nap, and in the afternoon, I brew some potions.

In the evenings, I would listen to Limela talk about the customs and culture of this world and learn about it.

To make myself more like an indigenous person.

After the story ended, Lou Le fell asleep almost immediately.

And then repeat this process.

It wasn't until the carriage had been traveling for half a month that Lou Le finally saw the mountain.

A black mountain, and it looks like an extinct volcano.

It's not very big, and it's even a bit short.

A small path branched off from the main road, leading there.

Lou Le was used to it, after all, roads are made by people walking on them.

Merchants would not extend their trade routes to the territory of a kobold tribe.

This path was probably made by a mage or an adventurer.

With this thought in mind, Lou Le steered the bone horse toward the extinct volcano.

Previously, skeletal horses were fed with small animals they caught, so their level of evolution was very low.

It was almost nonexistent, except that the color of the bones was slightly darker.

This time, at least the corpses of kobolds will be needed to feed them.

Let's see how things evolve.

Lou Le stopped the carriage 100 meters away from the extinct volcano.

She summoned a firebird, which hovered above the carriage.

If the carriage is attacked, the fire crows will circle and flutter up and down.

Lou Le, on the other hand, walked alone towards the extinct volcano.

Just as they approached the extinct volcano, traces of kobolds appeared around them.

[Kobold Scout]

It is the enemy.

"A race that has spread rapidly across the continent by relying on its reproductive and survival abilities, and is also one of the races that is most easily adapted to the environment."

(Note: Adventurers often say that kobolds are a treasure trove!)

Under Lou Le's Scrooge-like eyes, this kobold was incredibly conspicuous.

"Frost Ray!"

The little witch made a hand gesture, and a frost-cold ray appeared in front of her, quickly striking the distant tree canopy.

In the blink of an eye, the entire tree canopy froze into a block of ice.

The fire crow spat out a fireball, shattering the ice block.

The dog-headed man's body inside was also torn to pieces.

Lou Le walked over, stuffed the kobold's corpse into the magic book, and continued walking forward.

The edge of the extinct volcano is full of black stones, and hot springs emanating heat and smelling of sulfur are found in the large and small pits.

Then, a series of plants, each about a meter tall, blooming with red and yellow flowers, appeared in front of Lou Le.

The plant is entirely green, except for its reddish-yellow flowers.

More precisely, the edges of the flower are yellow, while the rest is red.

It resembles a solidified flame, and its structure is like a raised bell.

This plant is called the Fire Bell Plant, and each plant has only three or four flowers.

Lou Le quickly went to check the bottom of the hot spring, hoping to find some flame grass.

Unfortunately, the bottom of the hot spring was completely clean, and no trace of the flame grass was found.

This greatly disappointed Lou Le.
