Baron Cullen

Chapter 48 Strong Attack

As night fell, the bustling city of Absolute Breath gradually quieted down.

Inside the battle group's base, a team composed of all its members had already assembled.

Lamont stood before the crowd without offering any further encouragement.

He simply glanced at everyone and then said in a deep voice, "You all know the details. This time, the target is the mansion on the banks of the Greywater River in the suburbs."

What we need to do is secretly approach the outer perimeter, and wait until Karen confirms whether the missing young girls and the guards are being held inside before launching a full-scale attack!

Remember this well: you are absolutely not allowed to reveal yourself or act without my orders!

"clear!"

Everyone responded in unison, their faces extremely serious.

"Great! Let's go!"

At Lamont's command, everyone vanished silently from the warband's base, like ghosts blending into the night.

Using the shadows cast by the buildings under the moonlight, the group hurried toward the west gate.

...

The suburbs are quieter than the city.

The only sound was the wind blowing through the farmland and woods.

After leaving the city, the group quickly disappeared into a nearby grove of trees and, using the trees as cover, rapidly approached the Greywater River.

The closer they got to their goal, the more tense the atmosphere became within the team.

In an instant, everyone instinctively slowed their pace and held their breath.

Finally, after reaching the edge of the forest, the mansion located beside the Greywater River came into view.

As the team member with the scar on his hand had said, the mansion occupies a large area and is surrounded by a towering stone wall.

The only way to get inside is through the heavy, tightly closed door at the front.

At this moment, Karen used the trees as cover to look out over the mansion.

The entire mansion was shrouded in dim moonlight, appearing deathly still and as if no one lived there.

But the next moment, he directly activated the mysterious runes deep within his right eye, opening up that peculiar perspective.

The world before my eyes changed dramatically in an instant.

Inside the once deathly silent mansion, several figures were now slowly moving about in the courtyard!

On the first floor of the building, several different auras were scattered in various directions. One of them was even stronger than the others, and was faintly comparable to Lamont beside him!

He is a fourth-order transcendent!

Karen was slightly startled, but upon further reflection, she realized it was normal.

After all, this is an extremely important place under Bastian's name, so naturally, strong people should be assigned to guard it.

He then continued to look around the rest of the mansion.

In the other rooms on the second floor, there were two auras, but in the last room, there was only one aura.

And in each room, the two auras that coexisted were identical, one strong and one weak!

A sense of unease flashed through Karen's mind.

He continued to observe, his gaze shifting to the basement of the mansion, when his pupils suddenly contracted!

In the not-so-spacious basement, there were more than a dozen faint, almost extinguished auras gathered!

Recalling the faint aura emanating from each room on the second floor of the mansion, he immediately realized…

Those are the kidnapped young girls!

As for why there is another strong aura in the second-floor room, it's obvious without even thinking about it.

It must be those nobles and wealthy merchants who frequent this place!

A surge of anger immediately welled up in Karen's heart, and her gaze toward the mansion suddenly turned icy cold.

He knew he couldn't delay any longer; he had to rush in immediately and rescue the girls!

"Vice Commander!" Karen said in a low voice to Lamont beside him, "There are five people in the courtyard, all around the second tier in strength."

There are five people on the first floor of the house. Four of them are at the second level of strength, and the other person is likely at the fourth level!

Although there were people on the second floor as well, they all seemed ordinary; they were probably a few nobles and wealthy merchants, as well as a few girls who had been kidnapped.

As for the other girls, they were all locked in the basement; there were at least twenty of them!

Upon hearing this, Lamont nodded and led the group to approach the manor's wall silently, taking advantage of the terrain and the darkness.

Just then, the heavy gate of the mansion was slowly opened from the inside.

A fully armed guard slowly walked out, seemingly to relieve himself.

He yawned and walked groggily toward the shadows by the wall.

But just as he loosened his belt, he inadvertently caught a glimpse of Lamont and his men quietly approaching!

His movements suddenly stopped, and before he could even fasten his belt, he pulled out the battle axe that was slung over his back.

"Yes... uh!!!"

Whoosh!

The guard raised his battle axe and tried to shout, but was abruptly interrupted by a sharp whooshing sound!

On the other side, Harold slowly put away the crossbow specially equipped by the warband.

The arrow he had just fired was like an invitation from the Grim Reaper, piercing the guard's throat with pinpoint accuracy at the last second!

At that moment, the guard stared wide-eyed, clutching his neck, uttering hoarse, escaping breaths, before finally collapsing in despair.

However, just as he fell to the ground, his body knocked over the wooden barrels piled up next to him.

With a loud crash!

The overturned wooden barrel made a jarring sound, especially clear in the quiet night!

"not good!"

Lamont and the others' pupils constricted sharply!

At the same time, loud shouts and a flurry of footsteps immediately came from inside the mansion's walls!

"Did you hear that? What was that sound?!"

"Is someone outside?"

"Damn it! Coral's dead! Enemy attack!!!"

Finally, a guard who had reached the gate turned around and saw the guard lying on the ground with a bullet through his throat.

exposed!

Lamont made a decisive move, growling, "Everyone, charge! Follow me and charge in! Let's finish this quickly!"

In an instant, all the members of the battle group suddenly activated the extraordinary elements within their bodies, gripped their weapons tightly, and launched a tidal wave of attacks towards the mansion gate!

Boom!

Immediately following was a deafening explosion!

The heavy wooden door shattered like paper under the brute force of several second-tier battleband members, sending wood chips flying everywhere!

"Brothers, grab your weapons! Kill these damn intruders!"

At that moment, shouts from the guards and the chaotic sounds of weapons being drawn echoed from inside the mansion.

"roar!!!"

On the other side, Karen followed behind Lamont and unleashed "War Roar" without hesitation!

The deep, penetrating roar, like an invisible wave, instantly swept over everyone present!

The guards at the forefront, all at the second tier, froze, their eyes momentarily dazed.

Meanwhile, on the battleband's side, thanks to Karen's prior notice...

Before the roar could be heard, everyone activated their extraordinary elements to block their ears.

Although still affected by the roars, it was at least much better than the guards inside the mansion.

"Kill! Leave no one alive!"

As a fourth-tier warrior, Lamont naturally recovered in an instant.

He charged in first, gripping the giant axe, which was as tall as a person, with both hands!

The heavy, sharp axe blade, accompanied by a piercing shriek that tore through the air, and imbued with a rich, otherworldly energy, slashed towards the two guards who were still in a daze.

puff!

In an instant, blood splattered, and the two corpses collapsed to the ground!
