Sequence Ocean Survival: Awakening God-Tier Sequences at the Start

Chapter 9, 4th Extraordinary Being, Lu Sheng: "I just want to keep a low profile!"

The young man holding the wrench was speechless, his face turning red and his lips trembling, unable to utter a single word in rebuttal.

What Zhou Hai said was true. Without these extraordinary individuals clearing away the floating corpses, ordinary people like them wouldn't dare to venture into the Zijin Building to collect supplies.

Without supplies, they will starve to death on the sea sooner or later.

The gazes of the survivors around him shifted from initial amusement to disdain and anger.

"You ungrateful wretch! Without Captain Zhou and the others, you'd still be feeding sea monsters in the ocean!"

"Exactly! Making you pay 20% is already doing you a favor, so hurry up and pay and get out of here!"

"If you don't want to stay, get out of the fleet!"

Seeing the crowd's outrage, the young man turned pale and completely panicked.

"Alright!"

Zhou Hai waved his hand, and the noisy crowd instantly quieted down.

He stared at the young man, his eyes showing no anger, only a detached calm.

"I remember you guys only joined the fleet yesterday, right?"

The young man nodded subconsciously.

Zhou Hai pondered for a moment, then slowly said, "Alright, I won't make things difficult for you. I'll give you two choices today."

"First, leave my fleet now, and from now on, the gates of the Blazing Flame Fleet will never be open to you again."

"Second, follow the rules honestly, hand over 20% of the supplies, and continue to stay on the ship."

"You decide how to choose."

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone's eyes were focused on the young man.

Before he could speak, one of his companions, unable to withstand the pressure any longer, pulled him behind him and bowed repeatedly to Zhou Hai, saying, "Captain Zhou! We'll surrender! We'll surrender! He's just being unreasonable, please don't take it to heart!"

As he spoke, he hurriedly took off his backpack, dumped all the contents onto the ground, and voluntarily gave out 20% of them.

The coldness on Zhou Hai's face melted away, and he grinned, "That's more like it."

He clapped his hands and shouted to the people behind him, "Line up, one at a time!"

The minor incident was thus resolved.

In the distance, Zhao Ze, carrying an oil drum, watched this scene and whispered to Lu Sheng beside him with a smile, "How about it? Our captain's not bad, is he?"

Lu Sheng smiled knowingly: "Indeed, it's quite good."

"Heh, a 20% cut is already the most reasonable price in this area," Zhao Ze said with a hint of感慨 (gan3kai3, a complex emotion encompassing both admiration and regret). "Do you know what percentage other fleets take?"

Lu Sheng shook his head: "I don't know."

Zhao held up five fingers: "Fifty percent! For a more ruthless approach, seventy percent!"

Lu Sheng's pupils contracted slightly: "So many?"

"What else do you think?" Zhao lowered his voice. "In this apocalypse, those with superhuman abilities are like gods. They possess absolute power, killing an ordinary person is as easy as crushing an ant. Few dare to resist, and no one can resist."

"So, Old Zhou has already done more than enough for these ordinary people. He can't even part with 20% of the supplies, yet he wants to enjoy protection for free. People like that don't deserve to stay in our Blazing Flame Fleet."

Lu Sheng remained silent.

Zhao Ze's words gave him a deeper understanding of the rules of this world.

Compared to this, Zhou Hai, this seemingly rough man, can indeed be considered a person with principles.

Just then, Zhou Hai, who had just finished collecting protection money, spotted Lu Sheng and Zhao Ze carrying huge oil drums, and his eyes lit up instantly.

He laughed and waved to the two of them.

Lu Sheng and Zhao Ze carried the oil drums over.

Zhou Hai suddenly turned around, facing all the survivors, and said in a loud, clear voice, "Everyone! Please be quiet!"

He grabbed Lu Sheng's arm and pulled him to his side, his face filled with barely suppressed excitement and pride.

"Let me give you a grand introduction!"

"This is Lu Sheng! He's the fourth Sequence Transcendent to join our Blazing Flame Fleet today!"

boom!

One stone caused a thousand waves!

After a brief silence, the crowd erupted in thunderous cheers!

"Fourth! We now have four Sequence Transcendent individuals!"

"Great! God bless our Flame Fleet!"

"Lu Sheng! Lu Sheng!"

Countless fervent, worshipful, and awe-inspiring gazes instantly focused on Lu Sheng.

The more sequence superhumans in the fleet, the safer they are, and the greater their chances of survival!

Lu Sheng was caught off guard by Zhou Hai's sudden move, and a rare hint of embarrassment flashed across his face.

He even noticed that several attractive young women in the crowd were openly flirting with him, their eyes bold and passionate.

Damn it...

"Ahem, Captain Zhou..." Lu Sheng coughed, as if he wanted to say something.

"Hahaha! From now on, we're all in this together!" Zhou Hai didn't give him a chance to speak, slapping him hard on the shoulder, then pointing to the oil drums on their shoulders, he shouted to everyone, "See this! This is our new brother's welcome gift! Two big drums of diesel! With this, our fleet can go faster and farther!"

The cheers reached another climax.

"Old Zhao, let's hurry up and put the oil drums on the boat." Lu Sheng wanted to get out of this embarrassing situation of being the center of attention as soon as possible, so he urged them.

"Hehe, you'll get used to it gradually," Zhao said with a chuckle.

The two men didn't linger. Carrying the heavy oil drums, they walked through the bustling crowd and headed towards the fishing boat moored on the other side.

This was the first time Lu Sheng had clearly seen the ships of the Blazing Flame Fleet.

A medium-to-large fishing boat, about 18 meters long and 7 meters wide.

The ship's hull was covered in rust and scratches, and a flag, half-blackened by smoke, was tossed on the mast with a crooked flame painted in red paint.

"The boat is a bit worn out, but don't mind it, Xiao Lu." Zhao Ze seemed to have seen through Lu Sheng's thoughts.

Lu Sheng smiled and said, "As long as it works, that's fine."

The two men carried two oil drums, each weighing over 300 pounds, onto the deck, the heavy thud causing the entire ship to shake.

Several crew members in the cabin were unloading the protection money Zhou Hai had collected. When they saw Zhao Ze and Lu Sheng, they respectfully greeted them, "Brother Zhao, Brother Lu."

Lu Sheng was a little uncomfortable with this form of address, and simply nodded.

Zhao then gave Lu Sheng a brief tour of the Blazing Flame.

The cab, rest area, storage room... the space was cramped and filled with a mixed smell of diesel and fish, but everything was in good order.

"Xiao Lu, you'll be living on the boat with us from now on. There's a spare room on board," Zhao Ze said, making plans as he spoke.

Just then.

A cold, aloof figure appeared silently on the deck, like a ghost.

It's Su Li.

She didn't look at anyone; her calm, deep eyes were fixed on the dark sea in the distance, her pretty face solemn.

"Ali?" Zhao Ze's smile vanished instantly. "What brings you here? What happened?"

Su Li did not answer immediately; she raised her hand and pointed to the western horizon.

Her voice was soft, yet it struck Lu Sheng and Zhao Ze like a heavy hammer blow.

"A horde of zombies."

Zhao's expression changed: "What? Isn't there still two days left?"

Su Li slowly shook her head, her expression serious, and uttered three words that seemed to freeze the air.

"It's ahead of schedule."
