A day passed quickly.

The training has yielded some results, albeit barely.

Butterfree was finally able to maintain flight under the combined superpowers of the old man and the hypnotic tapir, and successfully learned two superpower-type skills: telekinesis and illusion beam.

Back in the room, the Pokémon were all waiting for Kyosuke to return so they could be fed. The old man also went back to his own room and didn't go to Kyosuke's place again.

Kyosuke, who is usually punctual, was late, which is an illogical sign.

Fortunately, Charmeleon had mastered the skill of opening cans with a can opener, and first rummaged through Kyosuke's backpack to find Pokémon food to fill everyone's stomachs.

After finishing their meal, Kyosuke was still nowhere to be seen, and as time went on, everyone became a little nervous.

Just as everyone was getting anxious and thinking of going to find him, the door to the room finally opened, and a tired-looking Kyosuke walked in: "I'm sorry everyone, I'm a little tired today, you must be hungry..." Then he saw a large pile of open cans of food, and his words stopped.

Charmeleon came over and helped Kyosuke up.

He was the Pokémon who had spent the most time with Kyosuke, and he knew that Kyosuke would be very tired after training every morning, but as long as he rested for a while, his physical and mental state would be very good throughout the day. This was the first time he had ever seen Kyosuke so tired.

Kyosuke patted Charmeleon's head and said to the Pokémon, "I'm sorry to have worried you all. I'm just a little tired. I'm going to rest now. Don't forget to train as usual tomorrow morning."

Then he went straight to the bedside, lay down on the bed, and fell asleep.

This afternoon, Kyosuke simply repeated his daily training.

Kyosuke knew clearly that the training method was the most suitable for him, and that one set a day was the most appropriate amount, which could maintain the growth of physical fitness without affecting his performance throughout the day.

However, in order to fight against the powerful superpowers, Kyosuke could only keep training until the superpowers could no longer fight against his body, only then could he achieve his goal.

The consequence of intense training is extreme fatigue, but fortunately, just like hair that grows back overnight, the fatigue is dispelled the next day. This is why Kyosuke dares to train so hard.

Of course, there are side effects, namely that his hair will grow longer and thicker. This is something Kyosuke discovered when he overtrained after learning about this method. Fortunately, he didn't have much hair before, so the thickening was just seen as normal development for a child by others.

However, if he continues to train without restraint, one day Kyosuke's hair will grow to his waist. Kyosuke finds the thought of that scene terrifying, so he only maintains the intensity of training once a day.

"My hair is going to grow long again in the next couple of days." This was Kyosuke's last thought before he fell asleep.

The Pokémon quickly checked on Kyosuke's condition and, after confirming that there were no problems, they all went to sleep without worry.

The next day, at four in the morning.

Kyosuke took his Pokémon to knock on the door next door.

Then, he brought the sleepy-eyed uncle back to the training ground.

"I'm an old man! Don't torture me like this!" When the uncle regained consciousness, he found that he had arrived at the training ground. He checked the time and thought, "Hmm... I can't understand today's young people. Maybe this is the generation gap."

"Uncle," Kyosuke said, knowing he had woken up, and quickly walked over to him. "Let's do an experiment."

Huh? The uncle felt a strange sense of fear.

"It's legitimate." Kyosuke said helplessly.

The uncle looked at him with suspicion.

Kyosuke could only explain, "Try using your superpower on my hand again." He then extended his left hand.

The man thought to himself: "I was just testing you yesterday. You didn't move, which means you're still in good shape. I've rested all day to recharge. You don't think I can't control myself, do you?" Then he used all his superpowers to control Kyosuke.

It remained motionless.

"You're not actually an evil human, are you?!" the middle-aged man exclaimed in shock.

"Yeah, if you can be a psychic, why can't I be a dark type?" Seeing the uncle's disheartened expression, Kyosuke chimed in.

Of course, the uncle was just making a sarcastic remark and naturally didn't believe the evil-type human's claim, since he had brought Kyosuke out with him using instant teleportation before.

Kyosuke sensed it for a moment, then asked the uncle to summon the Hypnotic Baku, and he also called Mai to fly over.

"Use your superpowers on me together," Kyosuke said to them.

The two spirits looked at each other and decisively used their strongest superpowers on Kyosuke.

But Kyosuke was still able to move around freely!

"So, improved physical fitness really does increase resistance to superpowers?" Silently comparing the strength he used to resist the superpowers when he grabbed the old man earlier, and then thinking about how he didn't feel anything now that the combined power of the three superpowers was strong, Kyosuke was certain that the training was effective.

But there's no doubt that Sabrina is stronger! Kyosuke is definitely still unable to stop Sabrina's superpowers.

However, there was a noticeable improvement after just one afternoon. If the training continues for a full day, it might actually be able to compete.

"That's enough for now. I'm going back to training," Kyosuke said to the older man, then turned to Mai. "Sarcasm is mine, and Alakazam is yours."

Wu nodded. This was mutual trust.

Kyosuke ran towards the gym area, and a new day of training began.

Everyone's training began with watching the four o'clock golden city...

Another day has passed, and a peaceful evening has arrived.

Kyosuke woke up in the middle of the night and lay in bed, his mind wandering.

He suspected that Naz had actually discovered their location long ago, but hadn't come to arrest them. Perhaps, as Naz said, she just needed friends to play with.

But that's not how you make friends. Kyosuke hopes to show Sabrina what true friends and partners are through battle tomorrow.

Looking at the sleeping Pokémon around him, Kyosuke seemed to feel a new surge of power within his body.

"But," Kyosuke said, feeling his hair, "my hairstyle will probably never pass muster at some schools."

"We can't keep overtraining like this!"

On the third day in Saffron City, after finishing his daily morning training, Kyosuke once again stood at the entrance of the Saffron Gym.

"Young man, the rest is up to you," the older man said to Kyosuke, then patted him on the shoulder.

Kyosuke shook his head, picked up Mai's Poké Ball, and said, "I'm not alone." Then he walked towards the gym without looking back.

Watching Kyosuke's retreating figure, the old man murmured, "I'm a bad father, but I still hope my daughter will be alright. Young man of Pallet Town, I hope you can also create miracles." Then he teleported away.
