Ancient Wizards: A Little Progress Every Day
Chapter 113 Changes in Claytam
Dago walked to the potion garden at the base. Thanks to Bernal and Serena's long-term care, the barren land beneath his feet had become much more vibrant than before, with patches of moonflowers planted in it. A small area was set aside, where a lone seed was planted on the moist, sticky, dark red mud.
The seed has a pink sprout about the length of a finger. Upon closer inspection, you can see countless fine veins that resemble blood vessels.
"May I ask you a few questions, Bernal?"
Dago squatted down beside the seed, holding Flax's heart in his hand. He squeezed it slightly, watching the crimson blood flow from the heart and drip onto the sprouting seed. The seed swayed gently, as if enjoying a refreshing rain.
"Is it really impossible for me to get promoted to the second ring road in two months?"
"Advancing to the second ring requires the atomization of spiritual energy, which requires the power of atomization rune array. In two months, the two of us will not be able to gather enough materials to construct a atomization array."
Bernal said calmly, "This is not a problem that can be solved by effort, Dago."
"A mist-forming magic array." Dago nodded thoughtfully. "I understand."
"What kind of combat power should a genius with the status of a three-tiered wizard possess? Do they all at least master a first-level resonance domain power?"
"You underestimate the difficulty of first-level domain resonance, Dago. Let alone the Thorn Ring, there aren't many people in the entire Emerald Life who can comprehend first-level domain resonance at the second ring."
"There are also different levels among the three-knot levels. A four-knot level is roughly enough to qualify for living on ten floating castle islands, and I was once very close to the five-knot level."
Dago looked up at Bernal's position, his face genuinely filled with surprise.
Five-point rating!
He now realized that he only knew Bernal as a genius wizard of the Ring of Law, but Bernal had never said that he was only a three-knot grader.
Bernal's voice seemed to carry a hint of melancholy, but he continued, "The ancient potion formula I possess, which uses the Flower of Solomon as the main ingredient, is not what you think about. It has nothing to do with understanding the Law Domain. Its real function is to develop your brain domain."
"Developing brainpower?!"
Dago paused for a moment.
"right."
Bernal pointed to his head with his index finger and said, "The brain is where the soul resides in reality. This potion will make you smarter, enhance your wisdom, and thus strengthen your ability to understand and comprehend magic."
"As for the enhancement of mental strength, it is only a side effect. However, the process is extremely painful. Even a normal first-ring wizard with a strong will can only take one bottle at most."
"You mean this potion can be taken repeatedly?"
A glimmer of light appeared in Dago's eyes.
Bernal nodded. "But you can't take it continuously. With each additional bottle you take, the pain in your brain will double, exceeding your limits and potentially causing a mental breakdown."
"How many bottles did you take initially?"
Dago asked quickly, guessing that Bernal must have taken it himself.
"Three bottles."
Bernal said calmly, "Actually, this has already exceeded the limits of my brain's capacity. My current state may well be due to the aftereffects of overdosing on medication back then!"
"How many vials of potion can this Flower of Solomon produce in total? How long will it take?"
"I'm not sure, but the number is definitely quite large."
Bernal thought for a moment and said, "You can use the extra materials to prepare the resources needed for the mental energy atomization array."
"it is good."
Dago nodded, stood up from the edge of the potion field, and looked at Bernal, saying, "One last question, did you know that Melville is a wizard of the Mirror Forest?"
"Where did you hear this rumor?"
Bernal frowned and said, "The legend of the legendary wizard Melville was already widely circulated on this continent before the Mirror Forest was even born. If you believe that Schirt came from the Mirror Forest, you might as well believe that the Mirror Forest received the legacy left by Melville."
"Is that so?"
A thoughtful glint appeared in Dago's eyes. He nodded. "Then let me know when you've finished making the potion."
After leaving the secret base in Bernal, I walked back to the Rose Inn.
Dago noticed everything in the city. Claytam was now in a completely different state than before. If Claytam was a still pool of water before, it had now begun to flow.
Beneath the gleaming silver tower, wizards could be seen hurrying in and out everywhere. The streets were busier than ever before, and spell training rooms, rune and magic tool workshops, and potion shops were almost all packed, presenting a lively and prosperous scene.
This excitement wasn't limited to the official wizards of the Silver Tower; apprentice wizards working in the city, and even ordinary people under the enormous wings of the Magic Ring, were also immersed in this tense and enthusiastic atmosphere.
The news that the official members of the French Ring would be selected through a competition in two months had already spread, and those who were not participating in the competition were even more excited and expectant than those who were.
"Lord Dago!"
As Dago walked to the entrance of the Rose Inn, Linda pulled Stuart closer to him.
"Have you heard about the selection competition for wizards in the Ring of Law in two months?"
Dago nodded. The people at the Rose Inn didn't know that Dago had already joined the Thorn Circle; they just thought he was like those wizards who were enduring their "twenty-year probationary period."
"Stuo and I have a plan: when the fight starts, we'll rent a hot air balloon and watch it from the sky!"
Linda was extremely excited, even starting to dance with joy. She exclaimed enthusiastically, "That's a competition between wizards of the Ring of Magic! There are many geniuses we never normally see among them. Just thinking about it makes me incredibly excited! Would you like to watch with us? This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!"
Stuart looked at Dago with a helpless and apologetic expression; he was completely unable to stop Linda's actions.
"I'm sorry, Linda."
Dago shook his head. "I might not have time then."
Linda looked disappointed. Seeing that she still wanted him to join her hot air balloon project, Dago simply handed her a few low-level magic stones to shut her up.
"Although I don't have time to join, I still think highly of your plan. This is a small personal sponsorship fee from me."
After saying that, Dago walked past the two men and entered the hotel.
Behind her stood Linda, beaming with joy as she held the magic stone. She exclaimed, "I told you Lord Dago would love my plan! Lord Dago is the most generous wizard I've ever met!"
"Linda, you're going to offend Lord Dago."
"No way!"
