Ancient Wizards: A Little Progress Every Day
Chapter 184 Six Suns
"Boom!"
Suddenly, a huge rumble of thunder came from the sky above.
The three of them instinctively looked up at the sky and saw a ball of lightning composed of countless bright purple streaks, extremely dazzling, flying rapidly across the sky.
Within the ball of lightning, a tall and slender human figure could be vaguely seen.
As lightning passed overhead, a figure cast a glance at them.
In an instant, it was as if a large amount of blazing lightning flashed before Dago's eyes, and the mental gray sun in his mind trembled slightly. Dago narrowed his eyes.
Third Ring Wizard
Moreover, he should be a powerful wizard at the mid-stage of the third ring.
"It's Gehrman."
Violet's deep, slightly hoarse voice rang in my ears.
Dago's eyes flickered slightly. Coincidentally, he knew the name.
On the first page of the genius file that Violet had given him just a day earlier, the first name was—German Hokkaido.
"The number one genius of Thunder Tower, the youngest deputy tower pillar in the history of Thunder Tower, and the only wizard among the six major forces who is currently known to have entered the mid-stage of the third ring."
"Yes, he's the one who once defeated Barker, the number one genius of the Thorn Ring, in a head-on confrontation."
Violet read out information that was already in the documents.
But when he read it out word by word, it had a strange kind of shock.
Any one of these titles would be enough to make a wizard famous throughout the six kingdoms. Now that they are all concentrated on one person, that person is naturally incomparably radiant.
"Since Gehrman became famous, he has been like a mountain, making everyone below him feel suffocated. It is said that Barker has always regarded him as his biggest rival."
Violet spoke slowly, then turned and gave Dargo a complicated look.
Dago remained calm and did not speak.
"Let's go."
Piddhe suggested in a low voice that the three of them silently board the airship and continue in the original direction.
The appearance of Gehrman immediately dispelled their previous speculations and concerns about the Revival Society. Indeed, compared to a powerful opponent that was clearly right in front of them, the confusion caused by a seemingly plausible pattern seemed insignificant.
Soon, the airship carrying the three disappeared into the horizon.
However, what Dago and his two companions didn't know was that after they left, several figures, completely hidden in wide black robes, silently "grew" out of the soil in that fiery red maple forest.
From beneath the black robes of the leader came a sharp, strange, yet aggressive voice.
"This is the only and last time. If you make such a decision on your own again next time..."
The man in the black robes slowly looked at the person beside him and said coldly, "You should know what the outcome will be, Viser."
The latter remained silent.
A moment later, he abruptly ripped off the black hood on his head, revealing a twisted and ferocious face covered with strange black patterns and a head of hair that looked like green seaweed.
He gazed up in the direction where Dago and the others had left, his eyes filled with a deep-seated madness and resentment. He gritted his teeth and muttered, "It was just a hair's breadth away. Those damned Thunder Tower guys, they couldn't have passed by at the worst possible time."
The man continued to curse, and soon, the figures in black robes, the strange patterns on the ground, and the entire fiery red maple forest all vanished without a trace.
"If I were to completely succumb to despair and turn to darkness, coupled with the activation of the Despair Winter Dragon Behelit bloodline and the power of the [Double Prism] seal, could I possibly fight against Gehrman?"
On the rest of the journey, Dagger kept calculating the outcome in his mind.
The answer is not clear; without actually engaging in combat, no one knows the outcome.
After all, the gap in raw strength between him and his opponent was simply too great. The difference between the mid-stage of the second ring and the mid-stage of the third ring was a whole level, with too many unknown variables in between, making it impossible to predict.
If others knew what Dagger was thinking, they would probably think he was crazy.
Before they knew it, the three of them had finally arrived at the competition venue.
Actually, they moved very quickly after entering the Goblin Plains area; the three of them were only slightly delayed on the way.
The arena for this competition was located in the very center of the Goblin Plains. When the three arrived, many wizards from the six major wizarding factions had already arrived.
The six psychic fields, resembling "suns," hung high above the entire venue. They were the psychic fields of the four-ring miracles from the six major wizarding forces.
Each "sun" emits light and aura of different attributes. Dago had already experienced this. The mental space of a fourth-circle wizard has undergone further transformation, nurturing elemental spirits within it, and the mental energy fluctuations it releases have become completely elementalized.
Beneath six great suns of different colors, some wizards were setting up the arena for the competition, using earth, fire, and plant magic to construct huge and sturdy arenas.
"I will go and inform the tower master about the matter of the old revival society."
The three of them disembarked from the airship, and Violet immediately dropped those words before hurrying away.
Dago easily spotted the figure of Leiming Tagerman, whom he had seen on the road before.
He was easily recognizable in a crowd.
Gehrman seemed to be surrounded by countless halos, and apart from the six miracle-level wizards in the sky, he was the most "dazzling" person in the arena.
Gehrman sat on a huge, silver-white high chair and looked very young.
His face was handsome, with distinct features, and his fair skin glowed slightly in the sunlight, as if reflecting the surrounding electric light.
His hair was slightly messy, with a strange dynamism, and the deep blue strands were interspersed with silver luster, as if they were always flowing.
His robe was the color of the midnight sky, and it was unclear what material it was made of. The robe was embroidered with intricate electric current patterns that occasionally flickered with a faint light.
Gehrman sat in a spot overlooking the entire venue, his hands resting lightly on the armrests of the silver chair, appearing calm and natural.
He possessed an innate air of nobility and majesty, and no one dared to look him in the eye for long. His eyes always flashed with a dazzling light like thunder, constantly giving people a sense of awe and unease.
Gehrman's gaze seemed to be "scrutinizing" everyone in the room.
It's like a monarch constantly scrutinizing his subjects.
This feeling of being openly looked down upon made Dago very uncomfortable.
"Strong, indeed."
Dago avoided Gehrman's scrutinizing gaze, thinking to himself, "But it's really a bit too pretentious."
He casually looked around the area, wondering if he could find any trace of the other powerful figures mentioned in the intelligence reports.
However, they gained nothing. The intelligence indicated that the powerful individuals maintained an extremely low profile and concealed their force fields very well.
Dago wandered around aimlessly for a while.
At this moment, almost all the people from all sides had arrived, occupying six different positions and gathering together in a clearly defined manner.
On the Thorn Ring side, Dago saw Carlos, who had led the second line of attack last time and was also the second-highest tower master. Besides him, there was another figure who should also be a tower master, a powerful third-ring wizard, sitting next to Carlos.
Dargo noticed that Undine hadn't come.
Carlos noticed Dago and waved to him from a distance.
Dago walked over there, noticing the "remarkable" Barker along the way.
This strongest young genius of the Thorn Ring was as confident and proud as I had seen him last time.
Barker, whose head of golden hair shone like sunlight in the night, sat quietly in the center below the two tower masters, his eyes fixed on one direction.
Dargo turned and glanced over. Well, as expected, it was indeed the "Big Pretender" Gehrman, whom he regarded as his biggest rival.
Perhaps sensing Dago's observing gaze, Barker turned his head.
Dago paused, meeting Barker's gaze across the distance.
Unexpectedly, Barker nodded slightly at him before looking away.
Dago was somewhat flattered, but then couldn't help but sigh inwardly: the true strength of these established top geniuses is still unknown, but the "prestige" they exude in their words and actions is truly higher than the last.
As Dago approached, members of the Dharma Circle on both sides of his path made way for him.
Dago walked up to Carlos and the other man. Carlos looked at him gently and introduced him: "This is Ronald, one of the tower masters of the Wizard Tower under the Thorn Ring."
Dago's gaze shifted to the man next to Carlos, a fair-skinned, handsome man with long hair like Ronan. His facial features were even close to delicate, possessing a kind of "beauty" that was even more "beautiful" than a woman's.
Ronald squinted, looking him up and down with an expression that Dago couldn't understand.
Dago remained calm and bowed to Caroni and the man one by one.
"Don't put too much pressure on yourself. Just do your best. This competition is just a trial and a test for you. The important thing is not the ranking, but what you gain."
Carlos gave him instructions, saying something similar to Undine's, and then told him to find a seat, as the competition was about to begin.
After Dago turned and left, the long-haired, handsome man beside Carlos released a slight amount of spiritual energy, setting up a temporary isolation field that enveloped the two of them.
"Tsk!"
Ronald exclaimed in surprise, "Now I understand why you had that misunderstanding."
When I first saw this Dago, I almost thought he was one of my long-lost descendants.
His appearance and demeanor are almost exactly the same as mine when I was young.
"It's just somewhat similar, after all, you both specialize in ice magic..."
Carlos shook his head. "But Dago is much more resilient and volatile than you. You haven't seen what he looks like when his bloodline is activated. Even the ancient fire demon blood of the Sargiers family has to kneel and lie dormant."
"Has his lineage been investigated?"
Ronald asked.
"More than one person was interested, but Undine stopped them all."
"A powerful and mysterious bloodline, specializing in ice magic yet choosing to join the Silver Tower, and Undine's unusual protection."
Ronald stroked his smooth chin, a possibility suddenly occurring to him. "Do you think this Dago might be that guy's offspring?"
Do you feel this way too?
Carlos looked up at the sky and said softly, "I also see Steele's shadow in him."
"Only Undine probably knows the answer."
As night fell, the sky above the goblin plains was filled with stars, and the "spiritual light" released by the six miracle wizards illuminated half of the plains.
Four enormous arenas were erected, and ten people from each of the six factions stepped out.
