The Wizard of Truth: Starting with Analyzing All Things
Chapter 3 Using Truth as a Blade
The air seemed to freeze inside the abandoned corridor.
Harris Thorn, a mocking smile on his face, approached step by step. His **mid-level apprentice** spiritual power emanated from him like a tidal wave; though weak, it already created an undeniable sense of oppression for ordinary people and "unqualified" individuals like Rowe. This was a difference in their level of existence, a tacit acceptance by the academy's rules of the strong oppressing the weak.
"Useless trash, are you deaf?" Harris felt a surge of irritation seeing Rowe just staring at him silently. Rowe's calm gaze made him uncomfortable. "Confess everything you've been doing, and everything you were doing sneakily! Otherwise, I don't mind letting you experience the taste of 'acid splash'!"
He raised his hand, and a faint green light began to gather at his fingertips, carrying a pungent odor. This was a standard **zero-ring magic trick**, not very powerful, but enough to cause ordinary people to suffer from skin ulceration and unbearable pain.
Lowe's gaze swept over the loosely structured, highly unstable acid model at Harris's fingertip, and the analysis results from the Book of Truth flashed through his mind: **High energy dissipation rate, fragile structure, detonation node located 0.3 standard units to the left of the model's core…**
He felt nothing, and even a little amused. It was as if someone was threatening a top scientist wielding a laser scalpel with a crudely made, mortgaged gun that could explode at any moment.
"Harris," Lowe finally spoke, his voice unusually calm, "do you know that you're interfering with the collection of important experimental data?"
"Experiment? Data?" Harris was taken aback, then erupted in fury. "What the hell are you talking about! Hand over the stuff!"
He felt insulted, and the acid model on his fingertips trembled, almost collapsing. He quickly focused his mind and steadied himself.
Luo Wei shook his head, as if lamenting an irredeemable experimental subject. He said no more, his consciousness instantly connecting with the Book of Truth.
Combat, in itself, is a form of applied science. And applied science, first and foremost, requires information.
"Analysis target: Harris Thorn, vital signs and energy flow."
The command was given silently. An invisible wave of detection, far beyond Harris's comprehension, swept over his entire body.
**[Target for Analysis: Human Male (Wizard Apprentice, Intermediate)]**
**[Vital condition: Healthy, but muscle strength is low and nerve reaction speed is average.]**
**[Energy Core: Initially condensed, located in the lower abdomen, energy reserve: 3.7 standard units (weak).]**
**[Energy Flow: Primarily concentrated at the right-hand spell model construction point; the flow path is coarse and inefficient. There is slight congestion at three energy nodes on the left lower limb (old injury?).]**
**[Threat Assessment: Extremely Low. Recommended Strategy: Disrupt its energy channeling or attack its weak point on its left lower limb.]**
Information flooded into Loewy's consciousness like a torrent. From the perspective of the Book of Truth, Harris was like a scarecrow riddled with holes, full of flaws.
"You're asking for it!" Harris was completely enraged by Rowena's scrutinizing gaze. Without hesitation, he shot out the unstable green acid from his fingertip!
The speed was not fast, and the trajectory was clear.
Lowe didn't even move. He simply raised his left hand and silently recited:
"Load and activate - [Regional Cleanliness Field] (Optimized Version)".
There were no incantations, no light. But half a meter in front of Luo Wei, an invisible, faint energy field instantly formed. This was not a defensive shield, but a high-speed vibrating "stripping" field targeting microscopic particles.
The incoming burst of acid entered the force field, and its unstable external structure was instantly destroyed and decomposed!
"Pfft—"
Like a punctured bubble, the acid mass mysteriously dissipated in the air, leaving only a few harmless, inactive drops of liquid that dripped weakly to the ground, making a soft "sizzling" sound.
"What?!" Harris's eyes widened instantly, his face filled with disbelief. "You... how could you possibly block my magic trick?! What kind of magical artifact did you use?!"
He simply couldn't comprehend what was happening before his eyes. How could someone without any qualifications silently dispel his witchcraft? He must have gotten incredibly lucky and stumbled upon some treasure!
Greed instantly overwhelmed surprise and doubt.
"The baby is mine!" Harris roared, raising both hands simultaneously, his mental energy surging wildly as he attempted to simultaneously construct models of [Acid Splash] and another technique he had recently mastered, [Weakness Curse].
However, Lowe will not give him another chance.
"Loading - [Water Flow Control] (Optimized Version), Target: Ground."
Lowe pressed his right hand lightly against the ground, and an invisible mist instantly condensed, spreading evenly across the stone slab beneath Harris's feet, forming a small but extremely smooth mirror-like water film.
Harris was concentrating on casting the spell when he suddenly slipped!
"Ouch!"
He cried out in alarm, instantly losing his balance. The two spell models he had painstakingly constructed, like candles blown out by the wind, simultaneously crumbled with a "poof." The backlash from his mental energy left him dizzy and disoriented.
"Loading - [Miniature Blazing Flame] (Optimized Version), Target: Three inches in front of its left foot."
With a slight twitch of his fingertips, Lowe fired a cluster of condensed orange-red flames precisely at the left front where Harris was about to land.
"laugh!"
The high temperature scorched the stone slab, producing a slight popping sound and stirring up a small wave of scorching air.
Harris was already off balance, and the sudden shock and heat wave made him completely panic. He tried to back away, but landed right on another sheet of water.
"Bang!"
He fell flat on his back, the back of his head hitting the cold stone slab, and he saw stars.
Before he could struggle to his feet, a shadow had already fallen upon him.
Rowe stood before him, looking down at him with a calm gaze. He raised his foot, lightly yet with immense force, and stomped on Harris's right wrist as he gathered his mental energy in an attempt to resist.
"Ugh!" Harris's scream came to an abrupt halt as he felt a cold, soul-piercing touch pressed against his brow.
That was Lowe's index finger. There was no light at the fingertip, but Harris had no doubt that if the other party wanted, his head would be pierced in the next moment.
"You...who exactly are you?!" Harris's voice was choked with sobs and utter terror. This was definitely not the Rove he knew, the one who was bullied by everyone! This calmness, this method, this ability to silently dismantle his witchcraft...could it be some old monster in disguise?
Luo Wei didn't answer his question, but simply asked, "Do you have any magic stones on you?"
"Magic... Magic Stone?" Harris was taken aback.
"Or anything that contains energy." Rowe's tone left no room for argument. "Buy your hand, or buy your life."
Harris trembled, no longer daring to hesitate for a moment. With his still-functioning left hand, he shakily pulled a small cloth bag from his pocket. "I...I have! I have a low-grade magic stone, it's...it's my monthly quota, I haven't used it yet..."
Luo Wei took the bag; it felt slightly heavy in his hand, and he could sense a pure and gentle energy fluctuation emanating from it. He glanced at it and saw a rhomboid crystal, about the size of a fingernail, emitting a milky white glow.
**[Item: Low-grade Magic Stone]**
**[Energy Purity: Low]**
**[Estimated energy unit: Approximately 1 standard magic stone]**
**[Can be used to replenish 'computing power' consumption, or to assist in the cultivation of the 'Basic Spirit Refinement Method'.]**
The information appears automatically.
Rowe put away the magic stone, loosening the grip on his feet, but his fingers remained pressed against Harris's brow.
"I don't want a third person to know what happened today." Luo Wei's voice was soft, yet carried a chilling undertone. "If you tell anyone, I'll know. Then, I'll find you while you're sleeping, while you're meditating, when you least expect it."
A wisp of extremely concentrated, unusually hot flame flashed briefly from his fingertips, almost scorching Harris's skin.
"Believe me, I can do it."
Harris was terrified, his crotch instantly becoming wet. He nodded frantically, "No, no! I swear! I don't know anything! I haven't seen you tonight!"
Rowe withdrew his foot and toes, no longer glancing at Harris, who lay limp on the ground like a lump of mud. He turned and picked up the few pieces of moss essence that had been partially refined and were emitting a faint glow, and calmly left the abandoned corridor.
Only after Rowe's figure had long disappeared into the darkness did Harris dare to breathe heavily, and he scrambled away from this place that would haunt his nightmares for the rest of his life. He had only one thought in his mind: Rowe was a monster, a monster he absolutely could not mess with!
……
Back in his cold dormitory, Luo Wei locked the door.
He spread his hands, looking at the low-grade magic stone and a few pieces of inferior moonlight moss essence.
His first real-world test perfectly validated his hypothesis. **Knowledge is the most powerful weapon.** Faced with absolute information asymmetry and tactical superiority, traditional power structures are not insurmountable.
He sat cross-legged on the stone bed, holding the low-grade magic stone in one hand, and began meditating on the "Basic Spirit Refining Method (Truth Optimized Version)" once again.
This time, with the replenishment of external energy sources, it felt completely different!
The pure energy within the magic stone was extracted efficiently, flowing along an optimized path and being transformed into his own "computing power" with almost no waste. He could clearly feel his mental power growing and condensing at a visible speed!
That sense of fulfillment and power on a spiritual level is intoxicating.
At this rate, perhaps in just a few days, tomorrow, he will truly step into the threshold of **Elementary Apprentice**! Moreover, in a way that is both incredibly solid in foundation and incredibly pure in spirit.
During his meditation, the corners of Luo Wei's mouth curled up slightly.
In his eyes, this wizarding world, full of mystery and loopholes, had become a huge, super laboratory waiting for him to explore, analyze, and optimize.
And he, Luo Wei, will be the only, and ultimately the **administrator** here.
