Dragon Raja: Lu Mingfei's War Journey

"Why don't you come and eat with us? Look at all this good food! You must be very hungry too, right? You need energy to survive!" Kansesa said with a smile, looking at Lu Mingfei and Nono, wanting to welcome them in.

"No...we're not hungry yet..." Lu Mingfei quickly waved his hand and said.

Upon hearing Lu Mingfei's answer, Cancesa's expression immediately turned cold, becoming extremely oppressive, like a venomous snake. However, he quickly looked at Nono beside him.

Nono and Cancesa stared at each other with grim faces. Lu Mingfei seemed to see a faint golden light in their eyes, but the light was so fleeting that he thought he was just seeing things because he was so hungry.

When he rubbed his eyes to try and see clearly, the two had already stopped looking at each other. Cancesa gave Nono's chest a meaningful look, then turned his head away as if nothing had happened and continued eating with the others.

Nono continued to stare intently at Kansesar's back. She was certain that what he had just looked at was not her chest, but the silver-white, half-decayed World Tree emblem on her chest.

Adding to the faint golden hue emanating from the other person's pupils, she realized that the other person was a mixed-race individual and also knew about Kassel College.

She didn't understand how the other person had suddenly become a hybrid. Perhaps it was because their spiritual vision had awakened their bloodline during their last adventure, but how could she explain that the other person knew about Kassel College?

How could an ordinary Uruguayan medical student know about the mixed-race world and academy hidden behind the secular world?

However, she knew that now was not the time to act rashly. Her injuries had not yet healed, and she did not know the other party's bloodline level or what their Word of Power was. If she acted rashly, she might still suffer an unexpected defeat.

On the morning of the eighth day, the sky was overcast. As he had done in the past few days, Lu Mingfei went outside the cabin and fiddled with his aluminum sheet snow melter.

Today seemed like an ordinary day. After fetching water, he would still sit on that broken chair, staring blankly at the snow-capped mountains, using nicotine to numb his hunger.

But today was destined to be unusual. The small jar of salted almonds that held him and Nono back their last vestiges of humanity was gone, and they had completely lost their food source.

On the other side of the cabin, today's feast became even more chilling.

Cancesa continued to play the role of enthusiastic host, with that unsettling smile on his face, extending another invitation to Lu Mingfei and Nuonuo. His gaze lingered on Nuonuo for a longer time, with a scrutinizing and provocative quality.

Nono met his gaze without flinching, leaning forward slightly like a mother protecting her cubs, subtly shielding Lu Mingfei behind her.

Seeing that Lu Mingfei and the other person still had no intention of coming over, Kanssa smiled again. The two people opposite him had completely finished their food, and he believed that they would join them soon because of hunger. He was patient and would wait.

The ninth day arrived, and Lu Mingfei did not go out of the plane to get water as usual. They had run out of food and had to minimize their physical exertion.

"I've already prepared for the snow blindness issue. I made this using the sunshade glass from the cockpit." Nono crossed her arms, a hint of smugness on her face. She hadn't been idle lately, secretly preparing the necessities for her escape.

She walked up to Lu Mingfei, squatted down, and stared intently at him as she spoke.

"If we don't have the strength to find the tail section and die outside, would you rather die outside like a warrior, or starve to death here and become someone else's food?"

"Even if you eventually succumb and join them to eat... that meat, that meat will eventually run out. When the meat is gone, it will be time for them to kill each other. At that time, there will be no more companions here, only predators and prey! Everyone will be a complete beast!"

"So, Lu Mingfei, tell me your choice now: stay here and gradually degenerate into a beast that only knows how to devour its own kind, or stand up and come with me, even if we die, we will die on the road to freedom!"

Nono reached out her hand to Lu Mingfei.

"Then of course I'd rather die out there with you." Lu Mingfei grasped her hand without hesitation.

Nuonuo's lips curled up, and she pulled hard, dragging Lu Mingfei up from the ground.

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!"

She gripped Lu Mingfei's hand tightly, turned around, and walked without hesitation toward the vast snowfield outside the cabin.

Lu Mingfei staggered for a moment, then steadied himself and followed her without hesitation. However, before leaving the cabin, he turned around and waved to everyone in the cabin, bidding farewell to his companions with whom he had spent nine days.

Perez, Roy, Canessa, and Marcelo seemed to understand their choice, and they all stood up, silently watching the two figures leave with admiration in their eyes.

These two young people from the East have a more determined heart and unparalleled courage than anyone else here.

Cancesar, meanwhile, stared at the two figures with a gloomy expression, seemingly lost in thought.
