The Longevity Family: Starting from the Foundation Establishment Ancestor

Chapter 484 The Crooked Tree Taught Me How to Be a Person

"Kid, don't rush off yet." The crooked tree shook its branches, signaling Han Mu to stop.

Han Mu stopped and looked at the crooked tree with a puzzled expression: "Grandpa Tree, what's wrong?"

"You think you can solve the problem by attracting the remnant soul? You're too naive," the crooked-necked tree scoffed.

"Then what else needs to be done?" Han Mu asked.

"The Lord of Order's resentment has seeped into his very bones. My power alone is not enough. I need you to do something for me," the crooked-necked tree said.

"What is it? Please tell me," Han Mu asked eagerly.

"You need to find the diary left behind by the Lord of Order before his death, and understand his true thoughts. Only when you understand his pain can you truly resolve his resentment," the crooked-necked tree said.

"Where can I find the diary?" Han Mu asked.

"It should be in the ruins of the Temple of Order. After I was sealed away, I vaguely remember that it hid a diary in a secret underground chamber of the temple," the crooked-necked tree recalled.

Han Mu nodded. He decided to go to the ruins of the Temple of Order immediately to find the diary. He gave Zhou Meng and the other two a few instructions and then left the Temple of Creation alone.

The ruins of the Temple of Order are located in an abandoned dimension, a place filled with rubble and the air thick with the stench of decay and death. Han Mu searched through the ruins for a long time before finally finding the entrance to a hidden underground chamber.

The entrance was blocked by a huge stone slab, which was covered with complex runes and emitted powerful energy fluctuations. Han Mu raised his hand and punched the stone slab, but the stone slab did not move. Instead, the shock made his arm go numb.

"Such a hard stone slab." Han Mu frowned. He activated the power of his Order Avatar and punched the stone slab again. This time, cracks appeared on the stone slab, but it still did not break.

Han Mu unleashed over a dozen punches, finally shattering the stone slab and revealing a long underground passage. The walls on both sides were inlaid with glowing gems, illuminating the path ahead.

Han Mu walked down the passage for about fifteen minutes, and suddenly a spacious underground chamber appeared before him. In the center of the chamber was a stone table with a yellowed diary on it.

"Found it!" Han Mu was overjoyed. He walked to the stone table and picked up the diary.

Just then, a dark shadow suddenly darted out from the shadows and pounced on Han Mu. Han Mu's expression changed, and he dodged to the side, seeing the true face of the shadow. It was a huge void creature, shaped like a snake, but with nine heads, each with a blood-red eye.

"The Void Hydra." Han Mu's expression turned solemn. He knew that this was a terrifying creature that lived in ruins, with strength comparable to a peak-level expert.

The nine heads of the Void Hydra simultaneously opened their blood-red maws, spewing out nine black beams of light that hurtled towards Han Mu. Han Mu dared not be careless and activated the power of his Order Avatar, throwing a punch that collided with the nine beams of light.

The two collided, unleashing a terrifying shockwave that shook the entire underground chamber violently. Han Mu was forced back several steps, and the Void Hydra was also forced back a distance.

"Such formidable strength." Han Mu's expression turned solemn. He knew he had encountered a formidable opponent, but he did not back down because he had to obtain the diary.

Han Mu engaged in a fierce battle with the Void Hydra. The two fought for dozens of rounds in the underground chamber, until the sky darkened. In the end, Han Mu killed the Void Hydra at the cost of serious injuries.

Han Mu dragged his injured body to the stone table, picked up the diary, and opened it. Inside was a record of the life of the Lord of Order, from when it was a passionate young man to when it became the Lord of Order.

Han Mu flipped through the pages one by one, becoming increasingly alarmed. He discovered that the Lord of Order was not inherently evil; it was once a person full of ideals and ambitions, but it took an extreme path simply to protect the dimension.

"I see." Han Mu closed his diary, a complex emotion welling up inside him. He didn't know whether to hate the Lord of Order or to pity it.

Han Mu returned to the Temple of Creation with the diary and handed it to the crooked-necked tree. The crooked-necked tree flipped through it with its branches and then sighed.

"This poor thing, it could have become a great guardian, but it went astray because of a betrayal," the crooked-necked tree lamented.

"Betrayal? What betrayal?" Han Mu asked.

"When the Lord of Order was young, he had a close friend. The two of them swore together to protect the peace of the dimensions, but during a great war, that friend betrayed him, causing him to lose his closest person. Since then, he has become cold and ruthless," the crooked tree said.

"So that's how it is." Han Mu suddenly realized why the Lord of Order had become like that.

"Kid, do you still hate it?" the crooked tree asked.

Han Mu was silent for a moment, then shook his head: "I don't hate it anymore, it was a pitiful person too."

"That's right. Only by understanding its pain can we truly resolve its resentment," the crooked tree said, shaking its branches. A warm power surged from the tree, enveloping Han Mu's body.

Han Mu felt the curse power within his body rapidly dissipating, and his cultivation level began to recover. When the curse power completely dissipated, his cultivation level returned to the peak of the Order Incarnation.

"Alright, the curse has been completely removed, and the remnant soul of the Lord of Order has found peace," said the crooked-necked tree.

"Thank you very much, Master Tree," Han Mu said gratefully.

"You're welcome, you figured it out yourself," said the crooked-necked tree, yawning. "I'm sleepy, I'm going to bed, don't bother me unless it's absolutely necessary."

After the crooked tree finished speaking, it stopped talking and its branches drooped down, as if it had really fallen asleep.

Han Mu looked at the crooked tree, smiled, and then turned and left the backyard. He went to the Temple of Creation and saw Fairy Hongmeng teaching Han Nian to read. A warm feeling welled up in his heart.

"Father!" Han Nian saw Han Mu, ran over, and hugged his leg.

"Nian'er, be good." Han Mu picked up his son and kissed him on the cheek.

"My lord, has the power of the curse been completely removed?" Fairy Hongmeng asked.

"It's all cleaned up now, so we don't have to worry about it anymore," Han Mu said with a smile.

Fairy Hongmeng breathed a sigh of relief, a long-lost smile appearing on her face. She knew that from now on, they could finally live a peaceful life.
